Did anyone else read "Hippos roam drug kingpin Pablo Escobar's ranch" as something entirely different at first glance?
Something like "Hippies moan dung kingpin Pablo Escobar's ranch"? (Not ME, of course)

3 cheers for dyslexia!!! (and too much coffee) :-)

Can anyone tell me if, in their opinion, Killing Pablo is better than Blackhawk Down? I've only read Blackhawk Down, just wondering.

In my opinion, Killing Pablo is far better than Blackhawk Down.

From "The Dangerous Hippo," Science Digest, LXXVI (November, 1974), 80-86, by George W. Frame and Lory Herbison Frame:

"Nearly all of the famous African explorers and hunters--Livingstone, Stanley, Burton, Selous, Speke, DuChaillu--had boating mishaps with hippos. All considered the hippo to be a wantonly malicious beast. Not long ago Spencer Tyron, a white hunter, was killed while hunting near the shores of Lake Rukwa, Tanzania. A bull hippo turned over the dugout canoe from which Tyron was shooting, and bit off his head and shoulders."

Over 400 people killed by hippos since they started counting... and the kids play nearby, how cute!

LoveInAction, that map says North America is in Guatemala!

Some good and so-so drug trade movies i've seen:

-Clear and Present Danger (my fav)
-Blow (featuring an annoying psycho Ppenelope Cruz)
-Traffic
-Scarface
-Collateral Damage (this was pretty corny actually)

any more?

Anyone see the pics of Escobar after he was killed with the guys gloating over him? Do a GIS on "escobar gif". They're not explicit or disgusting, just a bit grim. Not that I feel bad for him or anything.

I know it's big, but i think it's worth it anyway

"They tear down the fence every time I put it up and turn everything into a mess. But what can I do? They are huge," said Luis Perea

Heh, I watched my father-in-law on talking about how the FBI set him up for smuggling coke into the us back in the '80s.

My wife tells stories how he used to show up in town and take her brothers down to the local car dealership and plunk down a wad of cash.

-> it was on PrimeTime
