Go read, it's a bunch of "God willing he won't be in there long" and "If it's not said like it's stated in the Constitution, it doesn't count" comments.

And they're running a Freepathon for donations too... now's the best time I guess. Gotta get people before they realize they were completely wrong about their conspiracy theories.

That's some funny shiat.

No, I'm not. You think it's all over and you did everything to help out Obama? It's not.

Ask me again in four years and see if you did everything to help Obama when he gets blown out by some Republican.

Yes, the call for unity to face our nations problems is really working well.

Yeah we're all uniting in our celebration of getting rid of W and his buddies.

\thinks his buddies were far worse than W.
\\How can you troll after hearing that speech? Did it not define what is great about this country to you?

what, speechwriters?

Ok, I'll be ice for a second.

Go here (new window) for the truth about what the inauguration of ANY president really means.

Did Reagan write the line, "Morning in America"? No. Was it effective and beneficial to the country? Yes. Obama definitely wrote most of this speech, and the parts he didn't were both inspired and approved by him.

I'd understand your trolling yesterday or tomorrow, but how can you have anything other than pride today? If McCain gave this same exact speech, which he probably would've, the leftist trolls wouldn't be doing what you're doing, they'd have the smarts to shut up for a day. What exactly is your complaint with what he said? Our President stood up and advocated for sacrifice and courage in the face of a depression. He didn't directly say anything policy-wise so what do you have to complain about? Even the Ron Paul supporters think this was a good speech.

Antimatter Quote 2009-01-20 01:31:10 PM

Keep in mind, our declaration and constitution were largely crafted by Deists, not Christians.

This is not a Christian nation, its a secular one, always has been.

and yet all of the 44 Presidents have sworn the oath of office on a Christian Bible and each has mentioned God during their speeches....God is mentioned on our currency...no session of Congress begins without a Christian prayer. No one testifies in Federal court without swearing to God to tell the truth.

Secular nation?

Obviously not...

And from the Treaty of Tripoli...

"Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;"

You know, I thought it was actually a beautiful poem. But it was one of the kinds of poems that is more beautiful when read on the page than when read aloud, when you can look at it and appreciate it as a coherent whole. I liked the use of everyday imagery in it, and the linking of the everyday with the historic. The delivery really could have done it much more justice.

Mike Rowe should've done the lunch prayer for some odd reason

2009-01-20 01:37:49 PM
Okay, I just watched the swearing in. Roberts put "faithfully" in the wrong spot. Obama waited (for a correction) and then Roberts repeated it as Obama the repreated what Roberts originally said.

Cannot believe I wasted time looking that up. It matters not one single bit.

The Chief Justice swore him in and certified him POTUS.

Just stop this. You don't know how an economy works.

Spending money is a good thing. It goes to chefs, planners, waiters, whatever.

Economic problems occur when people are afraid to spend, not when they spend.

Obviously irrelevant token gestures are more important than the actual rule of law.

DUHHH, that is why it is sooo easy to trick the simple minded folk like libbynomore, you can do whatever the hell you want in reality as long as you pay lipservice along the way.

The Constitution and laws of this country are definitely secular. The people who inhabit and have run the country are mostly Christian. So it is up to the Christians in this country whether they want to abide by our Constitution and keep this country based on secular laws or whether they want to usurp the Constitution in the name of their God.

If by "Christian country" you mean that a majority of people in the country are Christian then you are correct. If on the other other hand you mean that this country is based on the rule of God and Christianity then you couldn't be more wrong. And if Christians want to turn this country into a Christian theocracy then they are wrong as well.

sorry buddy, it wasn't obama who messed up the oath. I've got it recorded on my computer, if you want to compare Robert's prompt to what's actually in the constitution. I don't expect you to take my word for it.
