mjoven1975: Longest game ever.

Game? There's a game on? I thought someone had my balls in a vice and just made me stay in them through what is the equivalent of 4 quarters of football.

Steelers games are almost always these slow grinding boring affairs. Thats the main reason I didn't want to see them make the Superbowl.

Cardinals and Steelers. WTF

2009-01-18 10:09:20 PM
regardless, the complexion of this game has changed. baltimore is done.

that being said, the build up for this game over the last week has all been about hatred on the field. with any luck, the outcome of this situation might give all the players pause for thought next time they play each other.

Was away from the PC for a few.

- Polumalu is a farking god back there.

- I hope McGahee is ok. I thought it was a clean hit and the shoulder lead the way.

- The Steelers play some incredible ball in the 4th quarter

2009-01-18 10:09:36 PM
Hey, at least you could hear the fans say "good luck, buddy" when he got wheeled off. Good fans.

Pitt fans showing class when they were taking him off the field. Nice show.

2009-01-18 10:10:10 PM
Abstruse: t3knomanser: Fans were cheering because there was a turnover. When people didn't get up, the crowd got real quiet. As for the music, the stadium is trying to downplay it because people are here to watch a game. They're not going to let silence reign, or play a dirge or something like that.

No, they were cheering after they saw the other guy not getting up.

No, it really was because of the turnover because the ref took a few seconds to determine if that was a turnover or not. It got really quiet right after that, minus the music.

I always tell my girlfriend that if I were ever to make it in the NFL in a made for tv movie way, I would want my movie to end with me giving the thumbs up as Im being carted away with a tear down my cheek, realizing I fulfilled my dream.

That's what I was just saying.

I was raised that when a player of the opposing team goes down on your field like that, when they get up and walk off, or especially in this kind of scenario, wheeled off... you get on your feet and cheer and show your appreciation and well wishes that they will be okay.

That doesn't seem to happen anymore as much as it did when I was a kid.

This has nothing to do with the game, but this girl wants all of you to know that Willis is talking and moving his arms....and she wants you to be happy.

What is the matter with you? They cheered when he was good to be moved off the field and you could hear fans yelling, "Good luck, Willis." It wasn't a dirty hit and the fans weren't being disrespectful

/not a Steeler fan and picked Ravens to win

This whole farking stadium better get on it's feet and cheer him off the field right now or I cease to call myself a Steelers fan.

Why? For all they know he is dying. YEeeeeehaaaah...get that guy off the field. It's one thing if a guy is giving a sign he is okay or walking off on his own. I never understood the cheers for the guy not moving being carted off.

Mrtraveler01: No, it really was because of the turnover because the ref took a few seconds to determine if that was a turnover or not. It got really quiet right after that, minus the music.

No. Ref declared turnover. Cheer. Two players down. Quiet. One player gets up. Cheer. Other player doesn't get up. Quiet. The stretcher cart comes out. Cheer. DIAF.

He's decided that the Steelers fans were being disrespectful. The fact that they weren't, and that all cheering stopped once they realized McGahee wasn't getting up, and the fact that they cheered him off the field and could be heard yelling "Good luck, buddy" as he was being wheeled off doesn't mean anything. Facts don't matter to him.

If it had been in Philly, they would have been cheering for a different reason.

I'm glad the Steelers fans are better than that.
