Are you not entertained?

Sorry, hope he's ok....

SlothB77: mcgahee is wishing he had his knee blown apart instead right now.

NOT SAFE FOR STOMACHS (new window)

/hope Willis is Ok in the end, he's a tough back

2009-01-18 10:05:31 PM
I say that the whole game should start over from the beginning.

2009-01-18 10:05:33 PM
If the fans do anything but cheer when he leaves the field than that whole stadium deserves to be firebombed.

/Don't make me hate Pittsburgh now.
//No horse.
///They should end it there, because the Ravens D is gonna be out for blood.

2009-01-18 10:05:33 PM
C'mon, the stadium people have to play something.

/if it were me, yeah, it'd probably be "Bad Day"

2009-01-18 10:05:34 PM

Person Of Interest: Memo to the Heinz Field crew: it's a tad disrespectful to be playing music when there's a player down after taking a huge hit.

As a Steelers fan, I agree. Although, I think they did the same thing when Roethlisberger was being carted off against the Browns.

2009-01-18 10:05:55 PM
Stiller rhymes with killer doesnt it?

2009-01-18 10:05:57 PM
Do I hear Santana?

2009-01-18 10:05:57 PM

GimpyNip: That wasn't a dirty hit.

Maybe a little reckless. Didn't look dirty to me, though.

Hope he's OK.

2009-01-18 10:06:01 PM
That last slow-mo reply showed a direct hit with the helmet making first contact.

2009-01-18 10:06:09 PM
Jim Nantz is in Masters mode right now.

2009-01-18 10:06:09 PM
Longest game ever.

2009-01-18 10:06:10 PM

cuss bunny: It was clean. Just forceful.

I hate this. Never want to see someone injured like that no matter what team they're playing for.

I just switched to the station to watch The Mentalist (which I guess will be delayed). I'm not too much into sports. But damn. I got a headache just watching their helmets clack together like that.

What's known as lowering the boom.

2009-01-18 10:06:28 PM
This is a long game.

2009-01-18 10:06:29 PM
Announcers said he was moving his legs, but the trainers had six dudes lifting him onto that stretcher. His arms haven't moved from the same position they were in when he landed.

2009-01-18 10:06:29 PM

srhp29: Um, I'm not seeing the dirty hit everyone else is.

But do you have Baltimore fan glasses or Steeler hater glasses on? I understand you see it much clearer with those on.

Unfortunate...but that's just football.

Nah. Panther fan here. Nursing my own wounds. Didn't really have a dog in this fight.

2009-01-18 10:06:31 PM
So was it a catch or not?

2009-01-18 10:06:33 PM

balthan: Sure looked like helmet-to-helmet to me.

He lead with his shoulder. Their helmets still met, with serious force. Like I said, it happens.

Abstruse: A guy's laying on the ground with a serious injury and the fans are cheering and they're playing farking Credence and Santana. I hope Pittsburgh gets slaughtered either now or later.

Fans were cheering because there was a turnover. When people didn't get up, the crowd got real quiet. As for the music, the stadium is trying to downplay it because people are here to watch a game. They're not going to let silence reign, or play a dirge or something like that.

2009-01-18 10:06:55 PM
He went into shock, that's what is taking so long

2009-01-18 10:07:02 PM
that shiat is just painful to watch

Mrtraveler01: Person Of Interest: Memo to the Heinz Field crew: it's a tad disrespectful to be playing music when there's a player down after taking a huge hit.

They always do that. They played music when Rothelisberger got injured the last week of the season.

I'd say the same thing in that case as well.

2009-01-18 10:07:08 PM

superbeerchan: Leading with the top of your helmet to the other player's face is *NOT* a clean hit. Period.

Good that he lead with his shoulder then.

2009-01-18 10:07:13 PM
seriously, he was out like a light half way to the ground

The zebras better be ready for shenannigans.

/Stay Classy Ravens
//Stay down
///I mean in the score, stay down

2009-01-18 10:07:14 PM

MIguy: So was it a catch or not?

Catch and Fumble recovered by PIT

2009-01-18 10:07:16 PM

SubBass49: Ummmm...but remember kids...the RAVENS ar the dirty team...right? Guys?

No, that was a clean hit. The Steeler player tried to lead with the shoulder, and it was downfield, not like diving helmet-first into a standing QB. Hopefully it's no worse than a concussion.

/Once got my legs taken out in an indoor soccer game and landed on my head
//Was seeing weird patterns in part of my vision for ~20 minutes.

2009-01-18 10:07:21 PM

mikaloyd: Stiller rhymes with killer doesnt it?

This from a fan of the team that did the SAME THING TO BEN?

2009-01-18 10:07:22 PM

srhp29: Oh my God, they killed Willis.

THOSE BASTARDS

*rats run in and eat him*

2009-01-18 10:07:23 PM
Joshua: No it wasn't a clean hit. That was straight helmet to face, not unlike the Sweed block earlier.

Are you joking? They hit shoulders so hard and Willis' neck wasn't squared so his helmet whipped into Clark's.

2009-01-18 10:07:27 PM
He's conscious, that's good.

This whole farking stadium better get on it's feet and cheer him off the field right now or I cease to call myself a Steelers fan.

2009-01-18 10:07:33 PM

balthan: zoobaby: That was far from dirty...just a hard hit.

Sure looked like helmet-to-helmet to me.

He lead with his shoulder, yes helmets hit, but he lead with shoulder not helmet...neutral fan here...just look like a hard hit with unfortunate consequences.

2009-01-18 10:07:40 PM
No thumbs-up :-/

2009-01-18 10:07:45 PM
Santana now?

Alright he is moving a little. farking intense.

Now Kid Rock's song about partying? Jesus.

2009-01-18 10:07:47 PM

VvonderJesus: He went into shock, that's what is taking so long

After he was hit, his right arm didn't move at all.

2009-01-18 10:07:47 PM

t3knomanser: Fans were cheering because there was a turnover. When people didn't get up, the crowd got real quiet. As for the music, the stadium is trying to downplay it because people are here to watch a game. They're not going to let silence reign, or play a dirge or something like that.

No, they were cheering after they saw the other guy not getting up.

2009-01-18 10:08:02 PM
Seems more like a dumb hit. Risking injury after you mostly have this game wrapped up.

2009-01-18 10:08:12 PM
Cool. I just heard some Steeler fans say "good luck buddy" as he was being carted off the field. No thumbs up, though... I hope he's ok.

2009-01-18 10:08:13 PM
And now "All Summer Long," a song about the joys of getting high and farking your girl during the summer. I like it.

2009-01-18 10:08:13 PM
Mr. Slippyfist: Jim Nantz is in Masters mode right now.

heh

Glad to see he was at least slightly moving on the stretcher...would've been nice to see a thumbs up though :/

2009-01-18 10:08:14 PM
Good to hear the Steelers fans wishing him good luck as the cart went down the tunnel.

/classy
//no sarcasm.

2009-01-18 10:08:21 PM
He moved his hand at least, that's a somewhat good sign. I hope everythings ok.

2009-01-18 10:08:24 PM

superbeerchan: Dirty hit.

Clark should be sitting for several games for that deliberate crap.

YOUR INSANE THAT WAS COMPLETELY LEGAL

2009-01-18 10:08:25 PM
Baltimore is saying, "Payback time!"

2009-01-18 10:08:27 PM
that's nice the pittsburgh fans were saying good luck to him as he went into the tunnel

2009-01-18 10:08:36 PM
All that, and Willie Parker STILL HAS NO BLOCKING!

2009-01-18 10:08:37 PM

Abstruse: Okay, I didn't care about who won this game until just now...fark Pittsburgh. A guy's laying on the ground with a serious injury and the fans are cheering and they're playing farking Credence and Santana. I hope Pittsburgh gets slaughtered either now or later.

That seems a bit over the line.

2009-01-18 10:08:41 PM
I like how they're playing Rob Thomas singing "Just ... just ... just forget about it." while a guy is laying on the field with possible brain and spinal injuries.

2009-01-18 10:08:58 PM

Truthiness: No thumbs-up :-/

I always wonder if the trainers tell them to do that as they're being carted off the field.

2009-01-18 10:09:02 PM

cuss bunny: He's conscious, that's good.

This whole farking stadium better get on it's feet and cheer him off the field right now or I cease to call myself a Steelers fan.

Your folks were good, cuss.

Also, I came into this thread to say, "Come on, Willis. You've overcome too much for this."

2009-01-18 10:09:09 PM

SubBass49: Good to hear the Steelers fans wishing him good luck as the cart went down the tunnel.

/classy

If it had been in Philly, they would have been cheering for a different reason.

#80 remembers.
