That was grounding!

2009-01-18 04:20:54 PM
That is a hell of a late call there.

The return of Chokey McRagdoll!

you gddamn better call that or your support for the Eagles will become far too obvious....

This is truthiness.

It hit him and changed direction, or it's like that phantom high school play where the ball went down then up.

Look, another Philly fan with an angle no one else apparently had.

I want Philly to win the game, but am not really a "fan".

That ball did not change directions in any angle Fox was showing due to contact with a human.

Zombie Hitler: There needs to be booth reviews for "referee's farked up" moments.

This. Definitely this.

FreakinB: I hate the idea of a certain type of play not being reviewable. Why even have replay then if you can't use it in all situations?

because players are taught that when the whistle blows, you STOP PLAYING. thus, when the play is blown dead, even when it shouldn't be (as it was here) you can't count anything that happens AFTER that whistle.

Didn't he do this last week, too? Ended up a safety? McNabb isn't leading this team. He just isn't. No one on the Eagles offense is.

Refs- that kick was a blown call.

Bill Frist: The return of Chokey McRagdoll!

He's been getting great protection so those low/lame passes he throws into the mix shouldn't be happening as much as they are.

2009-01-18 04:22:45 PM
FriarReb98: and how in God's name is that NOT a reviewable play????????

Because if it was ruled out then the play would be dead so anything that happened after it was ruled out doesn't count. Same as when something occurs after a play is blown dead.

2009-01-18 04:22:45 PM
looks like PHI isn't going to do anything with it but I'm still pissed about that garbage call

WTF is wrong with the Iggles? Did they not suspect that Arizona might blitz at some point?

Of course, they seem unaware that the Cards might be ready for them to blitz, too.

/bye bye, Andy

Somebody show me a picture showing that the ball didn't hit his arm when he was out of bounds. If you can't, the refs made the right call.

Philly is not going to win. They've been completely outclassed.

MIguy: jetzzfan: Ball hit Abiamiri when he was out of bounds. 1st Down Philly at the 40

Um....no

As soon as a receiving team player establishes possession out of bounds by stepping out and stays out of bounds, if he touches the ball first, the ball is out of bounds and the receivers get the ball 30 yards from the free kick point.

Leon Washington did this twice this year for the Jets to get the ball at the 40.

Isn't it a live ball after 10 yards on a kickoff?

2009-01-18 04:24:03 PM
antidisestablishmentarianism: No, either way the Eagles would have kept the ball.

What??????? If the ball didn't hit the Eagles player then it's Arizona ball.

Fair enough. That was quite the clusterfark though.

This is why refs shouldn't immediately blow the whistle on plays where there is a possible change of possession. Refs get antsy, calls get missed.

I'm just saying for grounds of a challenge, it would've been hard to overturn. It does look like in the second angle that the ball heads towards the kicking team, but then heads away after getting near the player. No way you could ever tell for sure though in either case; makes football more fun that way.

I hate the idea of a certain type of play not being reviewable..

Once the whistle blows...The play is over. There is nothing to review at that point. The play was OVER due to the whistle before anyone recovered the ball.

Shiatty lcuk but the lack of review makes PERFECt sense.

And it was only a few days ago I was being told McNabb was a better QB than Warner and a better HOF candidate as well.

My mistake, I thought it was a punt. It's hard to pay attention to this game it's so one sided.

heck of a punt

2009-01-18 04:25:43 PM
Why are the Eagles punting? They NEED a score to have some sort of momentum for the 2nd half.
