The woman in the article is probably one of the most vapid people on earth. I feel for anyone who actually has to engage her in a conversation.

It's false income.

Any money one would make from the rental would be spent on 55-gallon drums of bleach and a system to propel said bleach (at boiling point) via firehoses.

Subby would do it just some someone other than his mom gets laid in his house.

There is definitely some industrial-grade stupidity contained within this article.

The daily fee paid for the sort of work done at Gupta's 3,000-square-foot condo in the city's signature 90210 ZIP code is usually $2,000 to $3,000, Darrell said. That would cover about half of her monthly household bills, including maid service.

If you're having trouble making ends meet, might I suggest starting by ditching the maid service?

And you damn well know lifting a finger to do any kind of work has never occurred to her. And she would be one of the ones saying "why me?".

Someone does. Those videos got on Bittorrent somehow.

Just because they share it with everyone, doesn't mean nobody paid for it originally.

The same people who continue to insist that owning a console is a better investment then a true PC for gaming, the people who still have an AOL account, the people who are truly addicted to to collecting the stuff and simply _must_ get that one video that they know is on that one site, basically all those billions of ads you swim through on those sites pay for a lot of it too. Its kinda crazy but the model works and will keep working even once a generation or two of more net savy people replace the oblivious ones.

I'm thinking that at this point there is a vast library of this quite repetitive activity.

certainly anything I'm likely to imagine has been filmed many many many times already.

I understand the economics that created the existing ocean of porn, I don't understand why people are paying now to add to it.

A few months ago, "I probably would've said, 'You want to do what in here?'" he said. "That's reserved for me and the missus."

Now he says:
"Hey, for an extra $250 I'll throw in the missus."

THIS! How dare people try find other sources of income instead of drastically changing their way of life? They should all retreat to their basement and live off nothing but Cheetos and Mountain Dew while thriftily only spending $20/month on a WoW account! Hell, maid service? What a waste of money -- your mom does yours for free! UGH! HOW STUPID PEOPLE ARE I H8 THE WORLD!

Well, you have to take into account that most men (regardless of their age) like to watch young women in pornography. Women do not stay the same age forever, and thus there must be turnover in casting.

Therefore, there must be new people to act in porn, but they can't go add them to old movies, so they make a new one. Then, someone buys it.

I do. When getting someone to watch it with you, it's a lot more innocent if you have some DVDs and pop one in, than if you were to boot your computer, go through a bunch of files or websites, and watch it on Windows Media Player / Firefox.

It's kind of like candles. You don't really need them with the advent of the light bulb, but people still find them charming for dinners, romance, birthday cakes, and blackouts.

Can you write off related expenses, like spooge removal?
