My first Caturday! Yay! We just got a new kitty, he's 7 weeks old. His name is Keiran. I have only had him for a couple of days so far, but he's so cute and I'm thoroughly in love with him. My SO did the captioning as I have zero 'shopping skills. Can post a blank if anyone wants.

This is Truper. These pics are only a couple days old. While he looks like a young kitty, he's actually almost 4 months old. We rescued him last weekend - someone had abandoned him at our Vet when he was 4 weeks old. He was very sick with FRV and worms, plus he was severely anemic from a massive flea infestation. The Vet got him on the road to recovery over a 6 week period. That's when my wife walked into the Vet to get the dog (princess) a checkup. The Vet knew we were pet lovers and thought we would be perfect to provide Truper the best care and ensure he had a great life.

While the anemia and worms are gone, the FRV did a lot of damage to his sinuses. Breathing is somewhat labored as his mucus glands are fried - he also snorts and "whistles" through his nose. You can hear him coming from the other room! His eyes are also jacked up - he was blind for about a month as the FRV took its course. But he can see now, especially out of his right eye. The left one has a lot of scar tissue in it. He'll need to be some some anti-viral drugs for most (if not all) of his life.

But here's the best part - he is super sweet, very happy and loves to be
close to people.  While at the vet he was held close to the chest nearly all day. He even went home with someone each night. So Truper loves to snuggle. Now that he's feeling better, he has boundless kitty-energy. And as soon as he wears himself out, he'll walk up to us, meow, and gently rub our leg with his paw - this means please pick me up because I want to snuggle on your chest, where he'll sleep until he get hungry. So, here's to Truper and all the other Fark kitties!
