You can still get the support, because IBM consultants all use them. There is a LARGE Lenovo support infrastructure

Two running Lenovos here, I don't see them going out of business. They are the best Windows-based machines out there. Only Apple's design team is better but the ThinkPad series is still solid (avoid the SL- series though, the T- and R- Series laptops are still fine).

Interesting that I got my Thinkpad from Circuit City which is also going under.

DistendedPendulusFrenulum: because IBM consultants all use them.

Not just consultants, most of the 400,000 IBM employees have Lenovo PCs and laptops.

#5 is alive!

I loved those movies as a kid and so Santa picked up those two movies for my kids this Christmas.

Yeah... for the kids... *grins*

Maybe this gimmicky back-breaking monstrosity wasn't such a great idea after all...

Only Lenovo could take the concept: "dual screen laptop" and make it entirely unappealing.

Hopefully Kevin Eubanks kept his job. I've always liked him.

Agreed. Just got my replacement X200T and I am stunned at the level of bloat that is ThinkVantage. Not to mention that its System Update will gladly install outdated drivers. I'm glad that there is a dedicated user base that is the real tech support for Lenovo.

Maybe they'll drop the price on a fully-loaded T500?

Hey, now, I won't deny the ugly, but they're probably the best built laptops I've ever seen. They're designed for functionality, not fashion.

And they're more durable than anything short of a Toughbook.

Love my X61 tablet. It's a dream for a graph theorist--I can take notes wherever and whenever I get an idea. Once I toss Vista for good I'll be happy. Got Ubuntu 8.04 running nicely, but if anyone has a dd image of a working OS X install please email me. The OSx86 forums are labyrinthine.

That's a good 'Shop thread 'O'. Reminds me of this. (nsfw language)
