There was a time when Lou Dobbs wasn't a prattling sack of white-haired inanity predictably returning to the same jowl-shaking blather every night, guising ignorant paranoia and jingoistic nonsense as Patriotism and Love of Country, but it's been quite a while.

I know that reality probably doesn't matter to you, but my personal observations lead me to believe that, while they recognize that Carville is more-or-less liberal, not many actually like him. He's an ally at times (not always, and definitely not reliably, as his stances on some issues are in direct conflict to true liberal ideas), but definitely not a worshipped icon.

So Lou Dobbs says to Ann Coulter tonight on his show: "You are the sharpest witted and sharpest tongued Republican around these days."

"Thank you very much," she said.

"Sometimes it seems like you are the only..." He paused.

"Man-o-War in the party?" she said. "I am."

As much as it bothers me that Lou Dobbs would faun over Ann Coulter, or give her any kind of Republican respectability, I must say the Author went full retard after making that point. He made one good point then like all moonbats he sailed down stream into conjecture and outlandish descriptions of "horrible" Republicans.

Basically speaking Ann Coulter is a douche and the Right should label her as what she is; a Bomb Thrower who makes money on books due to contraversy. She essentially follows the Madonna model of staying relevant.

The author of the Article is also a douche and aside from his critisim of Dobbs, should be labeled what he is; a raving moonbat.

What? You want me to call Coulter a Wingnut for balance? Problem is, I don't think Coulter actually believes the crap she spews, where the author of this article seems to believe the crap he put in his article.

That would make Coulter a shameless bomb-throwing Attention Whore who purposefully inflames people to sell her books. The author is still a moonbat because he believes the stuff he spews.

I don't see how someone could take that divisivly unless they honestly believe that Republicans think the way to power is through an army of "teh stupid" and that Palin would actually develope foriegn strategy based on what she see's out the window. It was hyperbole or he believes it, either way - I claim Moonbat.

I remember when Lou Dobbs was actually a respectable journalist worthy of watching and listening to. I don't know when it was but he slowly transitioned from journalist to self-promoting pundit hack. Now it seems is goal is self-promotion rather than informing the public. To hear him criticise the MSM which he is part of would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.

Those damn liberals, them and their idol worship complex they project onto their leaders. I am so glad conservatives are above that and don't deem their leaders to be put in office by God's will. It isn't like God ordained Obama to be president like he did with Bush because of 9-11. You libtards need to get over the hero worship of your political leaders. It is just not normal.

I hope you are a troll.

You say $800 billion like it's a lot of money. George Bush just pushed through the $700 billion bailout that went to Wall Street -- at least Obama's plan generates money for regular citizens.

Anyway, this is a stupid headline and article -- I was hoping she was found guilty of vote fraud, which she admitted committing.

I'm not oblivious and there's plenty the Republicans do that I think is wrong; my point here is that this author, started with a valid point - Lou Dobbs should *not* be fauning over the likes of Ann Coulter. He, however decided to widen his strike to attempt to make points about Conservatives, and in doing so he used so much hyperbole and 'buzz-words' that he fell into the only catagory I could think of; Moonbat.

Somewhat abrasive, yea, Trollish - nope.

bubbaprog:

You say $800 billion like it's a lot of money.

So I was going to write a post about how, with all the wasteful government spending, any amount of money seems like a drop in the bucket, when actually $700B is a significant portion of the budget. The last time I looked at US government expenditures, it was around $1.2T which was a few years ago. $700B is a large portion of that, obviously over half.

However, after doing further research, the FY 2007 budget was $2.7T, well over twice what I thought it was. My point is that $700B is still a lot of money, money we are spending that we don't have, there is no fiscally responsible party anymore, and we are all well and truly farked.

She's making money giving the programmed people what they want. The more flamboyant and insane she is, the more lectures she gives. The right wing set out to create an underclass that accepts every insane burden placed upon them by the ownership society without even blinking. They knew that this would make the people miserable and they'd need someone to express their torment on. So they pointed them towards the "welfare mothers", hippies, communists, etc. They make sure that the dissatisfaction stays inside the class boundary. It's like black on black crime.

So they've created a self sustaining type of person who remains ignorant their whole lives, votes conservative, and directs all of their hatred at who they're told to hate. Ann Coulter is just part of that mechanism. She rises up because there's a demand for authority figures justifying irrational hatred.

The article makes a good point about the right's "war on the educated" they seem to have taken up in the last 10-15 years. I find it interesting how the neocons can convince themselves that even though any educated person can see through half of their shiat, they actually believe they can effectively counter all dissent by simply calling anyone who disagrees with them an idiot or a moron.

I just don't get this "war on the educated" twaddle. What war on the educated? Because we call pretentious nitwitts, pretentious nitwitt's we're suddenly against intelligent people?

Don't you find it a tad bit pretentious on it's face to assume that the only party Intelligent people belong to is the Democratic one?

Elite does not equal Intellectual.

Yep.

"Conservatives" start an anti-intellectual/educated movement as a way to discredit the messengers of messages they can't factually counter. These people the "Conservatives" attack call the "Conservatives" out on it and defend themselves from the attacks. In response, the "Conservatives" then play the victim card whining that they are being unfairly attacked by those who are defending themselves from the attacks by the "Conservatives".

CanisNoir: He, however decided to widen his strike to attempt to make points about Conservatives

Nope. They guy simply truncated David Brooks' thesis. And it happens to be a erudite one. Republicans as a whole have a serious problem with anti-intellectualism. You can deny that. Doesn't make much difference. But it's not a moonbat observation to conclude that Republican populism has run its course for the foreseeable future.

Coulter is only one symptom. And besides, your argument basically boils down to: "I can't believe he's advocating one party over another."

When that's why parties exist. A group of people that think their ideas are better than the other groups'.

Only recently, acknowledging that dynamic is considered bad. It's Partisan! Well duh.
