shaq's an oversized gorrila

2003-01-18 03:54:57 AM
...Shaq has numerous thunderous dunks in Yao's face, scores 31 points to Yao's 10.

2003-01-18 03:56:59 AM
Ha Ha Shaq Bastard!!!

2003-01-18 03:58:07 AM
Don't worry, Shaq was throwing down on his ass late in the game.

BTW, That was a pretty farked-up ending to what was a great game. A questionable flagrant foul call and subsequent technical overshadowed a brilliant 3-pointer by Steve Francis in the clutch that put it into overtime.

2003-01-18 03:58:12 AM
who gives a rats ass??? basket ball sucks worse then golf.

2003-01-18 03:58:22 AM
Lakers were jobbed in the end with a phantom flagrant foul call that also led to a technical on Phil Jackson. That lost it for them.

And Shaq dominated, BTW.

2003-01-18 03:59:34 AM
A questionable flagrant foul call

I'd go as far as to say it was a bullsh!t flagrant foul call. I agree with you, though, nobody noticed that Steve Francis was the really story of the game.

DrToast,

"Shaq has numerous thunderous dunks in Yao's face"

Well, basically Shaq's only offense is thunderous dunks, so I really don't think that's saying much. Still, for someone to block Shaq at all, let alone three times in a row is pretty impressive. Shaq isn't that good of a basketball player, he's just a beast that outweighs every center he plays by 40+ lbs minimum.

2003-01-18 04:00:08 AM
There is no "i" in ching yong shing nyong. Nm, there are a couple.

Bah...."real story"

2003-01-18 04:05:58 AM
Who cares?? It's a new link - I'll read it! Ahhhh....

2003-01-18 04:06:17 AM
Dumb freak, good thing he has basketball. The ventilation hoods at McD's are too low for him. He'd be hitting his thick head all the time.

2003-01-18 04:06:44 AM
Nunyerbiz: Well, basically Shaq's only offense is thunderous dunks, so I really don't think that's saying much.

Wrong. You don't watch Shaq enough. The whole reason he has taken his game and the Lakers to the next level the last few seasons is because he's developed some midrange stuff.

That article also doesn't mention that Shaq had 31 pts, 13 rebounds and 4 assists while being double-teamed all night and not just being guarded straight up by Yao.

2003-01-18 04:07:31 AM
Nunyerbiz
Well, by your logic, shouldn't 7'0, 280 pound Todd MacCulloch at least be an all star since he's much bigger than most centers in the league?

2003-01-18 04:07:34 AM
Yes I will gladly say it. Shaq dominated the sideshow at PT Barnum's.

2003-01-18 04:07:39 AM
oooops--I'm having serious html issues these days. Blah.

2003-01-18 04:08:37 AM
Shaq > Yao

2003-01-18 04:09:50 AM
Zeez, with his arms outstretched he literally has to jump 6 inches. YES, that is six farking inches, that is more than halfway to the top of the toilet bowl, in case you were wondering. All just to drop the ball in and call it a dunk.

2003-01-18 04:09:53 AM
Lose Lose situation for Shaq

*yawn*

``The unfortunate thing is it had to be decided by them,'' O'Neal said of the officials. ``A whole bunch of people who paid a lot of money had to see a game that was decided by someone who doesn't make a lot of money. That's unfortunate.''

Yes, Shaq, that's right. The game should be decided by those who make the most money. How dare the officials call fouls against highly-paid players and coaches? Peasants!

2003-01-18 04:11:33 AM
Remind me again... how much money am I saving by not subscribing to the thingie that pages me when there is a news flash?

I mean, knowing who won a basketball game is pretty ground breaking.

2003-01-18 04:11:47 AM
Nunyerbiz
Or even better, if size is the only thing that makes Shaq good, how come Yao Ming is only averaging 12.8 points and 8 rebounds a game. He's 7'5" and 296 pounds. He's much bigger than every other center, too.

2003-01-18 04:11:51 AM
Doccm9: Zeez, with his arms outstretched he literally has to jump 6 inches.

Not from 10-12 feet out. You guys need to watch more than the highlights on ESPN to know what Shaq is about.

2003-01-18 04:12:54 AM
I call a stupid foul on Shaq, oh wait nevermind this is BB. Sorry my bad.
When will Shaq get arrested and just get it overwith. Oh wait, he's so farking stupid that even criminals don't want anything to do with him. If he was a few inches shorter he would be the janitor in your former HS.

2003-01-18 04:15:34 AM
Title should have been: Yao stuffs Shaq's arse three times in first three minutes...then bends over, takes it in the arse for the next 50.

2003-01-18 04:15:49 AM
No way, Doccm9, if he didn't have basketball he'd have a brilliant career as an actor. Tell me his performance in Shazaam wasn't awesome!

2003-01-18 04:17:17 AM
Do people even care about basketball anymore? I mean, really? When you're talking about players who are 7'5".. Doesn't seem like much of a challenge to get that ball in that hoop.

2003-01-18 04:18:21 AM
If anyone thinks Yao is a better center than Shaq they've let their Laker hatred get the best of them.

2003-01-18 04:19:28 AM
Let me make that statement more general:

If anyone thinks (any center in the league) is a better center than Shaq they've let their Laker hatred get the best of them.

2003-01-18 04:19:39 AM
Zeez,

I agree Shaq has added a decent half-hook shot to his game, but that's about it. I don't think it had anything to do with bringing the Lakers to the next level. His FG percentage and PPG game have been pretty much level since his second year in the league.

DrToast,

Ok, Shaq does have something else besides the 50 lbs weight advantage, he does have above average mobility for a man that large. He basically has a linebackers build in a 7ft tall man. Still, he commits an average of 8-10 uncalled offense fouls per night as he simply shoulder blocks opponents on his way to the hoop. He's one of those guys that's going to go down as one of the "greatest ever" just because he could shove all the smaller guys around (ala Wilt Chamberlain, Jim Brown, etc)

2003-01-18 04:21:11 AM
Zeez - arse?

2003-01-18 04:22:39 AM
Zeez, and....?
And how often does that happen? He's mostly under the rim, forming a wall. He's a freak that is most effective in intimidating the other players with his size.
ESPN? Um no? I know better than to have cable. A whole lot of dumb, for a whole lot of dough. fark that. I'm glad to see that SHAFREAK has found something he can do "well" and make a shiatload of money doing. All becauise he's a freak. Now that I think about it, I wish I had a freakishishly long dick. Well not freakish, but a nice 1.5" would do. 9" would be satisfactory. But alas I'm only dreaming. Where did I start. right Shaq is a a big dumb freak. If you disagree, the3n watch an interview with him, where he didn't get the questions before hand. I would be the dunker's dunker if I was his size. I'm only 6'2" and I can dunk, that includes drinking and smoking way too much. So dunking does not impress me, nor does scoring, nor does physical size.
I'm drunk, go ahead and flame me and see if I care.

2003-01-18 04:23:03 AM
DrToast,

Wait and see on Ming, he's only a rookie. Let's also not forget his teammates. He's competing for touchs with "fire at will" guys like Stevie Francis & Cuttino Mobley. I think by the time he settles in and Houston starts filtering him the ball, he'll easily be a 18-20 points per game guy.

2003-01-18 04:24:56 AM
Nunyerbiz he commits an average of 8-10 uncalled offense fouls per night

He also gets hacked 8-10 uncalled times per night. He only took 4 freethrows this evening. 4! You're telling me that a guy who plays in the blocks like that only got fouled on the shot twice?

2003-01-18 04:25:09 AM
I wish I had a freakishishly long dick. Well not freakish, but a nice 1.5" would do.

Uh....what's that?

2003-01-18 04:25:27 AM
Sorry,
"See if I care" should be "See if I give a shiat."

2003-01-18 04:25:27 AM
Kings > Lakers

Mavericks > Lakers

Liberty Hill > San Antonio Cole

2003-01-18 04:25:43 AM
Why does this have a news flash tag??

Not everyone is from LA, not everyone is from America, not everyone likes Basketball.

You coulda used "Spiffy" or "Cool" or a whole bunch of other ones.

Or even "News".

2003-01-18 04:26:45 AM
Dr Toast, should read an "EXTRA 1.5"
Or you could just read it as sarcasm.

2003-01-18 04:27:03 AM
Wow, Doccm9 really is drunk. I hope.

2003-01-18 04:27:46 AM

Yes, I figured that's what it was, but it sure sounded bad.

So what makes basketball interesting, anyhow? Where's the excitement, the tension? What makes it better than football, or hockey, or *shudders* baseball?

2003-01-18 04:28:53 AM
I seldom follow any ballsports, but when the unusual comes along I generally pay attention. having no bias against either player or team ,it is interesting that I haven't heard of anybody being able to knock down Shaqs shots the first few times they have seen him coming. Do you suppose this player will adapt and become more of a nuisance to shaq,or will shaq learn to avoid him?
On another note can you imagine what the game will be like if eventually every team has one or two players that can dunk without jumping? I can't even fathom what it's like to play basketball when the hoop would be so low in relation to your height..

2003-01-18 04:29:56 AM
Aqueduct_Pocket,

He also gets hacked 8-10 uncalled times per night. He only took 4 freethrows this evening. 4! You're telling me that a guy who plays in the blocks like that only got fouled on the shot twice?

Shaq is averaging over 10 FT attempts a game. He gets his fair share of whistles. Granted, the ofiiciating in that game wasn't the sharpest, something that is more and more common in the NBA these day.

2003-01-18 04:31:34 AM
Unclefenders
You're right, Shaq doesn't get stuffed often. Yao Ming is going to be a special player. It should be interesting to watch these two develop a rivalry over the years.

2003-01-18 04:31:55 AM
"Ching chong wong" indeed!

2003-01-18 04:32:37 AM
Nunyerbiz,

I can assure you that night-in and night-out Shaq should get to the line more. Often the fouls are pretty rough. You know, "Hack-A-Shaq." He should be commended for not blowing up on the opposition. Believe it or not, he's extremely even-tempered.

2003-01-18 04:33:51 AM
Me drunk yep. Shaq dumb freak yep.
