Great...more bullshiat from the tobacco companies. Just what we needed in today's society of war, unidentifiable diseases, poverty, greed, murder, lust, violence, and death.

But if it gets the assholes who are slowly giving me cancer through secondhand smoke to stop, I'm all for it!

I want to die from melanoma, not lung cancer.

You know if they could find a way to get you high by putting a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger... human beings would do it... and most of them would forget to check and see if there were bullets in the gun.

LMFAO. Best Headline Today sofar. Prolly the best one all day. But we shall see. So true, So true.
2003-01-17 01:59:47 AM
Tobacco is BAD for you?

Well, time to switch to weed.
2003-01-17 02:01:10 AM
In other news, gargling antifreeze is bad.
2003-01-17 02:01:43 AM
Time to dismantle the UN. They're just trying to weasel their way into administering global taxes. And he who taxes you, controls you.
2003-01-17 02:02:23 AM
It isn't bad for you if you free base it.
2003-01-17 02:02:56 AM
PRAVDA, working hard to legitimize The Enquirer and The Sun.
2003-01-17 02:03:05 AM
Puffy999 Got news for you. Weed is just as bad. LOL But your always welcome to join me in some nice Rich Tabacco. :)
2003-01-17 02:05:45 AM
Actually I hear it is worse, but how many people smoke two or three dozen joints a day?
2003-01-17 02:05:48 AM
2003-01-17 02:06:40 AM
In Solviet Russia, you make smoking cool!
2003-01-17 02:08:58 AM
POT! pot! POT!
2003-01-17 02:09:36 AM
pot is good for you.
2003-01-17 02:10:36 AM
Puffy999 - The biggest pot head I've ever known smoked about 3-4 joints a day. As far as lung damage goes, it's probably equivalent to a pack a day of cigs.

Most of the hardcore stoners I know usually smoke 2-3 bowls or a joint per day.

I'd rather weed become legal than tobacco illegal, at any rate. People should be allowed to indulge. People should be allowed to suffer the consequences of their indulgence.
2003-01-17 02:10:38 AM
Puffy999 two or three joints? What no hookah? Doesn't matter much.. It all leads to the same ends...and with the way the world is going. I wouldn't doubt that nuke will be flying 3years down the road anyways. So enjoy yourself!
2003-01-17 02:11:59 AM
Scrotar People should be allowed to indulge. People should be allowed to suffer the consequences of their indulgence. True.
2003-01-17 02:12:03 AM
and pot has medicinal applications. Say that about cigs or alcohol. Saying that, I'm off to sell Antabuse to the local kids and tell them it's ecstasy.
2003-01-17 02:13:49 AM
Sheilanagig You dirty Capitalist Pig you.!! lmao.
2003-01-17 02:19:06 AM
LOL @ Sheilanagig!

2003-01-17 02:23:03 AM
maybe they'll start putting more chemicals in cigs and people will die quicker.. that way it will eliminate the weaker members of our planet. and thus.. we'll create a race of superbeings.
same can be said for homosexuals.. its in the genes.. and they dont reproduce.. so eventually they'll die off right?
2003-01-17 02:24:18 AM
If smoking pot allows someone to become the next billionare mayor of New York, then by all as you wish.

I said two or three dozen by the way... I know people that can smoke that many cigarettesa day. ;)
2003-01-17 02:25:15 AM
So are you saying we should put chemicals in homosexuals?
2003-01-17 02:31:15 AM
Dr.Knockboots Your freaky. Something about you rubs me the wrong way...Prolly something about the whole race of Superbeings comment.
2003-01-17 02:35:29 AM
haha Nuke, the drug of the future
2003-01-17 02:36:03 AM
Oh good, it's only the UN and not the US. Heaven help us all if the US ever decides that smoking is bad (i.e. leads to terrorism).

I can hear Dubya now: Think about it... Joe Camel. Ever wonder who rides camels? That's right, terrorists ride camels. When you support Joe Camel, you're supporting terrorism!
2003-01-17 02:36:18 AM
ahahaah im dying over here!! i didnt aim for that one.. but perhaps we should.

my alien friends say they want to create the race.. im just spreading the word. and they said tinfoil hats dont work against them, instead it concentrates their signals. and crop signs are alien ascii porn.
2003-01-17 02:36:30 AM
Mondo- w00t robocop. LMFAO! :)
2003-01-17 02:38:46 AM
Don't feed the trolls. I've had to remind myself of this for the past week. I've quit smoking, you see, and the self-rightious, smug people who've directed comments at me have made it all but impossible to refrain from saying something really nasty back. One comment I got was that now I too could become one of the smug bastards. Another was that few of the people this person knew who tried to quit smoking had actually succeeded. I plan to succeed now just to prove to his smug, judgemental ass that there are exceptions to what falls within his past experience. Yes, agreed, I'm a bit hostile. It's withdrawal talking.

To quote Denis Leary:

There's a guy- I don't know if you've heard about this guy, he's been on the news a lot lately. There's a guy- he's English, I don't think we should hold that against him, but apparently this is just his life's dream because he is going from country to country. He has a senate hearing in this country coming up in a couple of weeks. And this is what he wants to do. He wants to make the warnings on the packs bigger. Yeah! He wants the whole front of the pack to be the warning. Like the problem is we just haven't noticed yet. Right? Like he's going to get his way and all of the sudden smokers around the world are going to be going, "Yeah, Bill, I've got some cigarettes.. HOLY shiat! These things are bad for you! shiat, I thought they were good for you! I thought they had Vitamin C in them and stuff!" You farking dolt! Doesn't matter how big the warnings are. You could have cigarettes that were called the warnings. You could have cigarrets that come in a black pack, with a skull and a cross bone on the front, called tumors and smokers would be lined up around the block going, "I can't wait to get my hands on these farking things! I bet you get a tumor as soon as you light up! Numm Numm Numm Numm Numm" Doesn't matter how big the warnings are or how much they cost. Keep raising the prices, we'll break into your houses to get the farking cigarettes, ok!? There a drug, we're addicted, ok!? Numm Numm Numm Numm Numm *wheeze*
2003-01-17 02:39:12 AM
There's this great company called Vector Tobacco that's the #5 us tobacco company that's coming out with nicotine-free cigarettes this month. They're still just as dangerous, but they sound like the best way to quit (or not get as addicted) so far. I'm gonna try them for sure.
2003-01-17 02:42:15 AM
We are all going to die someday...why not make it a habitual road...
2003-01-17 02:43:04 AM
Scrotar People should be allowed to indulge. People should be allowed to suffer the consequences of their indulgence.

The problem with that is that everyone else has to pay for drug users and then drug users' kids etc etc. We can change it so we become a capitalist paradise where non-indulgers don't have to pay for indulgers' kids and medical expenses, but then we get a bunch of kids dying in the streets and that doesn't sound that great. There's no easy answer.
2003-01-17 02:45:30 AM
Just out of curiosity, Jeremyf which drugs would you ban? What would your list look like?
2003-01-17 02:46:34 AM
Jeremy, if you could find someone else to pay for my drug use, I would be very grateful.
2003-01-17 02:48:03 AM
Jeremyf So no nicotine. How the fark are you suppose to keep your fix going? You would smoke 10 of the bastards and still be craving it because it has no nicotine...That would drive me looney.. sounds hellish to me.
2003-01-17 02:48:35 AM
Sure there is. Allow pot. Danger level is around that of cigs and alcohol, but it doesn't have the withdrawal effects. ;)
2003-01-17 02:49:01 AM
Legalize drugs, and then if druggies want rehab, they can get a damn job and pay for it themselves
2003-01-17 02:50:10 AM
Sheilanagig: How long have you been off the evil weed?
2003-01-17 02:50:12 AM
Ideally I'd say legalise everything and make people responsible for the consequences of their actions. If they pose a danger to their kids or rob people or threaten to kill people while driving under the influence, yeah, they pay the price. If they only kill themselves by inches, their business. Tragic, but they volunteered. May not sound good, but they did volunteer.
2003-01-17 02:50:45 AM
I'll quote Bill Hicks - "Non-Smokers die, everyday."

Think about it...
2003-01-17 02:50:56 AM
NubianzWithAttitude Of course a bad addict will steal stuff to keep a fix. kiss your car good-bye man. But atleast you have insurance on it. ;) so It all equals out.
2003-01-17 02:51:03 AM
On Monday it'll be a week.
2003-01-17 02:56:05 AM

Congratulations on quitting!!! I recently quit myself. It hasn't been that bad - it's pretty much a non-issue for me now. Good luck!

I too could become one of the smug bastards.
I caught myself biatching to my non-smoking friends about smokers a couple weeks ago - not a good sign. I promised myself that I wouldn't forget what it's like to be a smoker. We'll see how it goes.
2003-01-17 02:56:34 AM
Sure there is. Allow pot. Danger level is around that of cigs and alcohol, but it doesn't have the withdrawal effects. ;)
Not until they develop a reliable test for stoned driving. I don't want to die at the hands of some slacker squeezing a roach.
2003-01-17 02:58:05 AM
Hang in there. I kicked a 2-pack-a-day habit, two years ago. It gets easier every day, and it is definitely worth the effort!
2003-01-17 02:58:13 AM
While I can't agree more with what they're trying to do, I doubt the UN is the group to pull it off. What are they going to do, pass a Joint Resolution? Yeah, that'll do it.

I say raise taxes another 8 bucks a pack, and keep raising it every year. Proceeds can go to $1000 toilet seats for the military for all I care, it'll be worth it.
2003-01-17 02:59:35 AM
If you don't smoke.....fine. Just get out of my farking face with your "Holier Than Thou Attitude". You've probably farked your way into aids many times!!!!!!
2003-01-17 03:00:29 AM
You're in much greater danger of dying at the hands of a socially acceptable, legally high drunk. Have you ever seen a stoned person driving? They often don't like to leave the house at all, because they get paranoid every time someone looks at them and imagine that the person knows. If they do drive, they drive SLOOOOOOOOWWW. Unlikely scenario that you should die at the hands of some slacker squeezing a roach.
