Something sleazy on the Stern show? I, for one, am shocked.

2003-01-16 03:04:13 PM
The man lives in Hicksville.

2003-01-16 03:04:56 PM
What a tool. Well, that's the last we hear from him. Now if we can get rid of Melrose Larry and Cabbie.

2003-01-16 03:06:16 PM
Gosh, I thought he was just an innocent HORSE TOOTHED JACKASS!

2003-01-16 03:07:03 PM
Ba-ba-busted.

2003-01-16 03:07:24 PM
Goodness. We can't trust a guy named "Sal the Stockbroker" who has a job on the Howard Stern show?

*boggle*

2003-01-16 03:08:26 PM
...hoping stern has hit 14 minutes.....

2003-01-16 03:09:34 PM
People still listen to the radio?

2003-01-16 03:09:49 PM
His "World's Meanest Listener" entry was still the funniest.

2003-01-16 03:10:33 PM
I hate to do this.

Okay, no I don't. My work filter doesn't allow TSG. Anyone feel like explaining a bit? I would sure appreciate it.

2003-01-16 03:10:54 PM
Dennis Murphy or Tom Gavin would never do something like this.

"....By the way, Governale is seeking $200,000 in damages from Regland, money he could use to expand his Long Island estate."

Nice estate!

LTG-

...it turns out the grating guest negotiated a secret agreement with an Internet firm to plug the company on the popular radio program--unbeknownst to Stern & Co.--in return for at least $45,000 in cash...

2003-01-16 03:12:20 PM
I'll stick with listening to Kidd Kraddick. My wife doesn't gripe at me anymore, and that's good enough for me.

Does it work if you surf through this?

Ok LawTalkingGuy.
Sal was caught shoving an illegal Asian peanut down the through of an unsuspecting W. Virginia politicians mouth to assassinate hime so Bill Clinton could gain access to lost files from his hard drive. However they were distracted by the Miller beer commercial and crashed in to a river. Hilarity was thought to ensue..but didn't.

...hoping stern has hit 14 minutes.....

Uh...you mean 14 years maybe? You obviously don't understand the "15 minutes of fame" concept.

2003-01-16 03:15:55 PM
my daughters name is Sal.
I'm going to start calling her Sal the Stockbroker.

2003-01-16 03:16:28 PM
Many thanks farkers!

Ronin that sounds like Sal, to be sure.

Howard Stern was effectively booted out of our market because his ratings were pathetic (the word around here, anyway).

He's on one of the worst AM stations around, now.

You are joking right? Kid Kraddick is about as funny as a brain tumor. Stern, Imus, etc. they are all the same lame ass schtick.

This isn't the first time I've testified before Congress...

No conflict of interest there. Noooo. He's just giving us good old reliable investing advice so that we may all make millions, and nobody is poor.

/sarcasm

2003-01-16 03:26:31 PM
Send a gift to his home address.

*evil laugh*

2003-01-16 03:28:24 PM
SuperCMC: It obviously makes no difference to you, then, since you probably think that everything on morning radio is as fun (or funny) as a brain tumor. At least Kraddick doesn't have to resort to doing stuff as sleazy as Stern to get ratings. Plus, I can actually listen to it at work...that helps.

2003-01-16 03:29:24 PM
God, I miss Stern. I used to listen everyday until I moved to a market where I can't get him. I'm so out of touch I don't even know who Sal the Stockbroker is.
RIP Hank.

2003-01-16 03:30:50 PM
Plus...it beats the hell out of the local crap here. Bunch of trailer trash call-in shows. I'll pass.

2003-01-16 03:31:52 PM
Kraddick DJ'd one of my junior high dances way back when. He was an asshat then, and as of 3 yrs ago when I left FTW, was still an asshat.

2003-01-16 03:33:45 PM
if you are in dallas you need to listen to the ktckt 1310am funniest am sports challenge ever. Also didn't Kraddick get in trouble with the soccer moms because he made funny of Indian names.

2003-01-16 03:37:34 PM
Y'all should listen to country music.
'Nuff said.

Yippie-Ki-Yi-Yay, motherfarkers!

2003-01-16 03:38:21 PM
Kraddick didn't seem like an asshat to me, when I met him. Of course, anyone that's DJing a junior high dance probably WILL be an asshat. I did a few myself, so I'd know. It sucks...and so does the money.

Van_damn: No, he didn't get in trouble with anyone. He may have displeased a few people, but you can't keep everyone happy all of the time.

2003-01-16 03:38:56 PM
Your daughters name is Sal? What is your sons name, Maria?

2003-01-16 03:40:06 PM
Sal's must be GREAT at picking stocks, 'cause this complaint is dated June 2001 -- 18 months before the actual events! What should I buy now, Sal?

2003-01-16 03:46:10 PM
Capn - I may be wrong, but I ran into him a few times in the 18 years since and he still had the same effect on me. I agree that DJing a JrHigh dance has to suck.

2003-01-16 03:47:40 PM
Insert predictable flame war about which morning DJ is better than the other. Include references to Mancow, Bubba the Love Sponge, and a few assorted redneck local yahoos. Agree to disagree.

Sal is a sleaze. I am sometimes stunned at how the tertiary characters on radio shows build entire careers on their 2 minutes of glory. Stern is famous for it - the drunken dwarf guy, the retarded guy from Portland, etc. This is a tad different though. This was a behind the scenes thing behind Howard's back. Major sleaze move.

Sal's "estate" is hilarious.

2003-01-16 03:48:17 PM
Max_pwr009:

He was around before Hank... Sal is behind all of the "horse toothed jack*ss" stuff.

2003-01-16 03:50:39 PM
Hey...we can all be asshats on any given day, me included. I mean, he even said a while back that he had to take his daughter to the hospital for an emergency, and some doofus fan comes running up to him on the way in saying "Muh wife's havin' a baby! How're you doin'? Yada, yada, yada." I can't blame him for the attitude there.

Maybe you caught him on a few of his bad days, and I met him on a good one. I can't say which he has more of, obviously, but everyone gets a different impression. Mine is no better than yours. Hehe.

2003-01-16 03:53:32 PM
Oh..and yes, DJing for anyone under the age of 18 sucks major ass. Especially when they want one thing, and the chaperones (i.e parents with $$) want another. I'll stick with club DJing and radio DJing, TYVM. That is, if I did it anymore.

Aquatic biologist Pam Schaller of the Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco described it in more matter-of-fact terms.
"Genetically, they're designed to swim," Schaller said. "I'd be more amazed if the six had learned to do something not in penguin nature and showed the other 46 how to do it - like if the birds were trained to jump through a hoop or design web pages."

If he gets the boot from Stern's show, maybe he can get a host doing appearances on Opie & Anthony's show.

Cause y'know they alway win in the end (except when they tell you that the Mayor of your city is dead.)

Hey Skinink -

Since when have O&A been back on the air? I thought they got fired last summer.

2003-01-16 04:19:53 PM
Who the huh?

2003-01-16 04:22:53 PM
I have lived in Long Island for 18 years of my life, and I can say that the picture of the Sal's house looks like ALL of the houses in Long Island.

2003-01-16 04:23:30 PM
Yeah, but O&A always win in the end.

He stinks and I don't like him.
-Jim Norton.

2003-01-16 04:33:37 PM
Bring back Billy West. Show hit its peak when he was on.

2003-01-16 04:33:49 PM
By the way, I've always hated Sal "i'm such a douchebag i have to pick on Gary to take attention away from the fact that i'm a complete farkin loser". I hope Howard reams himout completely before kicking his worthless A$$ off the show forever.
