This wanton waste of precious sewer gas is a travesty! The is 'brown gold'is being allowed to flow away unchecked. The slurry should be processed in methane digesters to produce methane and fertilizer. It is a low-tech process that the Chinese and Indians have been putting into place for decades ranging from household units to municipal systems For example, a slurry made fom all the poop jokes that will appear in this thread could produce enough methane (if kept between 32 and 37 degrees C) to power Fark's servers for a week.

I've been smelling moldy leaves each time I leave my apartment complex.

It's either someone burning them, or I need to clean out the cowl on my truck.

Thanks to the Nestle factory nearby, my little area of Wisconsin smells like fresh baked cookies most of the time.

Ah sewer gas! That politically correct term for industrial waste accident that is eating through your bodily tissues.

This is the important first step, one I thought our friends to the north would, perhaps, never make! Recognition that things are amiss is called the 'first idea.' Recovery will be a long, hard road, fraught with missteps, but this is the essential first step toward maturity!

Here on the eastside in Milwaukee and I don't smell anything . . . unusual. Just the typical smell coming from Lakefront Brewery. I love the smell of yeast in the morning.

I think it was a "drive-by" from a trucker going through the area. Or, as it is know among my friends "straffing".

That's nothing. When I was a child in Alberta, a sour gas well blew out and gave half the province a dutch oven.

Is that what it was? I thought it was the Pleasant Prairie Power Plant coal pile again.

Every once in a while that pile smells worse than a pile of something else...
