Huh. I don't get how this was offensive at all? Not like they got unwilling participants or anything. I could see if they used pics of people that didn't volunteer, but WTF?

Please... cheese that isn't individually wrapped or squirted from an aerosol can is probably "controversial" to these clowns.

And the answer to the question is both of those guys are obviously disco-dancing, rainbow warriors.

The left one's clearly the gay one; the right one's a pedo.

/I can tell by the 'stache, and having posted quite a few pedobears in my time

Why do Mormons have so much of a problem with teh gheys, anyway? I realize that many Christian groups (yes, I realize that some Christians don't view Mormons as Christians, but come on) aren't wild about homos either, but few of them are on as much of jihad against them as Mormons.

Some any Mormon here who wants to explain that one? Why do you guys always get your magic undies in such a bunch over any gay issue? Seriously, I'm curious.

First of all...the one on the right is gay.

Second of all the Blogger link at the bottom has already been taken down.

If you go to BYU, you deserve what you get. It's not like there's any shortage of non-theocratic schools, even in Utah.

Also, if you can't tell that the one with gelled-up hair and perfectly manscaped eyebrows is gay, you need to have you gaydar examined.

I had a terrible thought about photoshopping that picture to clarify who was gay, but propriety got the better of me.

Seriously though, that might make a good PS contest.

Oh, by the way the pics were moved to here.

Not really sure why the pics say "censored" across the faces especially since he writes just below them, "You cannot censor me on this blog."

Art is supposed to be like painting a picture or something like that; something that takes some talent. Photos of a bunch faces -- where you're supposed to guess which one is gay -- that don't take talent. That's not art.

Maybe they'll put special underwear on the photos and put them back up

That blog was far more gay than either of those dudes. I mean it literally reeked limp wristed, mincing biatchiness. I mean when I read it I was hearing Richard Simmons' voice.

You said both comments I wanted to.

This is a rather non-story. The display itself sounds "fabulous" and hopefully there are numerous calls to show it elsewhere.

Yup. Went WAY over his head. Art never makes commentary, opinions or tries to present a point of view.

Betcha his idea of art is, "oooh! pretty shiny sparkles!" or "Check out that hot pinup chick!"

I hate to side with the Mormon church on this one, but it is a private, church run institution, and they make you sign a contract before going saying you won't openly do something contradictory to the church's point of view.

That being said I don't see whats wrong with this, other than to treat people equally and judge them by themselves and not by their sexual orientation.

I'd suggest a boycott of BYU, but it could still run off of the funds from tithing/ all the Mormon kids who go there.

Why the heck is being gay such a bad thing? Seriously, is it hurting the Mormons some way? If so, I'd looove to know how it's hurting them.

I'm from a Mormon family, so I'll try to explain this. Mormons don't like gays mainly because they are told not to, but they use many excuses to justify it.
Example: My mom says hat if gay marriage is legalized they will start teaching teh ghey as a way of life in school, but then again this is the same mother who, being totally serious, suggested polygamy would solve prostitution.

That being said there is a small and generally silent segment of Mormons who have absolutely no problem with homosexuals, but they can't come out in open dissent with the church, otherwise they could lose their membership/ a bunch of other bad things.

Yeah, that's where I kind of got off the Mormon train, because when I asked them why it took the church so long to recognize blacks they had no real answer(some saying that it was revelation from god at that time, and not the fact that the civil rights movement happened and if Mormons didn't allow full rights the church would become intensely unpopular hella fast).

Dude. Clearly MLK was an agent of Nephi, instructed by the spirit of Joseph Smith to pave the way for the Mormon revelation in the 70s.

I have absolutely no idea either. I was arguing for legalization, mainly as an extra thing the government can tax/ protection for the prostitutes from the frequently abusive pimps/rival hobags.

The new blog link is http://jmichaelwiltbank.blogspot.com/

The reason the pictures say "censored" is to show how ridiculous it is to get freaked out about a bunch of (rather nicely done) portraits. You can see the original images if you just move those lazy eyes down the page a bit.

In my opinion, if you're going to be an asshat about artistic commentary on the issue of homosexuality, you might as well just issue a blanket statement that gay students aren't welcome. That said, I don't understand why anyone who was openly gay would ever go to BYU anyway. Is it really that good of a school?

that's still the official answer to the question.

Wasn't there a situation where the artist "censored" their own art and made a big stink to get free publicity in the media? Could this be a similar situation? The whole thing is hearsay from the artist.
