The editorial board of Investor's Business Daily is further right than Paul Gigot, the war-hungry editor of the Wall Street Journal.

Anyone who pays for either publication is funding Israel and Pentagon lobbyists.

I LOVE watching "Future Weapons".

More or less everything has either been cancelled by the DoD, or has already been beaten by teenagers with AK-47s and home-advantage.

I imagine a few more tests and they'll be discussing whether it was a launch error or a design flaw.

I already subscribe to the WSJ, but I didn't know that the IBD also was responsible for funding Jews and war-mongers. I'll sign up today.

Not long ago I got a free subscription to IBD thinking it might be wise to keep up on financial news these days. The very first paper I received had an editorial on how Bush is going to go down as one of the best and most important president in history. Needless to say my subscription lasted exactly 1 issue.

I would suggest not to take ANYTHING they say at face value. They are eat right wing shat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

/They think the whole economic mess was caused by lending to minorities - really
//Might want to read if you find right wing delusions funny

"They think the whole economic mess was caused by lending to minorities - really"

I might have missed that but what I read was that they think it was caused by making risky loans to people who were not in a position to pay them back. They seem to feel this policy of bad loans was reinforced by government programs that encouraged making loans to the "poor" who were not in a position to pay it back.

As it happens many of these loans did go minorities but I don't think the IBD ever said the problem was loaning to minority groups. Rather the problem was loaning to people who could not pay the loan back. Some of which happen to be minorities.

However, I am not a regular follower of IBD so if you have something that indicates im wrong i would honestly be interested in reading it.

The government programs that encouraged making loans to the poor specifically included several provisions that prevented financial institutions from discriminating racially. Back in '68 or so the Equal Housing Act made outright discrimination illegal. So right around '69 the financial institutions started "redlining," refusing to lend money to certain redlined neighborhoods. They could say they weren't discriminating, their choice of redlined neighborhoods had nothing to do with the predominant color of the inhabitants, right? Anyway, the CRA made all those practices illegal, and required the financial institutions to actually base loan evaluations on credit history and financial stability, which is what they should have been doing all along. For some reason, many conservatives think the CRA is an abuse of government power, but I've never seen any argument supporting that statement that wasn't all wharrgarbl.

Anyway, the whole argument that the CRA caused the housing crisis was debunked by the fact that the vast majority of subprime loans were made by financial institutions that are not subject to CRA regulations. End of story.

FTFA:

We have pointed out the dangers of an Iranian freighter launching a Shahab that would detonate its warhead high over the United States, unleashing an electromagnetic pulse that would send our high-tech economy back to the days of the covered wagons.

"...and we have thereby demonstrated that we lack the slightest grasp of nuclear weapon and EMP physics, but we're always suckers for a scary story."

You are CORRECT, sir! The majority of sub-prime mortgages went to middle class flippers who were buying multiple homes in hopes of cashing in on the market. It is true they were unable to really pay off those loans, but not because they were poor. It was because they were greedy and stupid, just like the whackadoodles convinced them to be.

Since this is turning into a political thread;

Do you choose being

A: a left-wing radical who supports gay marriage, demilitarization, the grand pussification of America into a commie-pinko state of all equality which will never happen,

OR

B: a right-wing radical who supports biblical values at the cost of basically choosing half of said biblical values, the grand armament of the nation, but not the individual and no free speech unless approved by the government?

Well? Which are you? This is a bicameral nation, after all...

/You say I'm a Libertarian like it's a bad thing.
