Plus he shot himself below the waist, so it's not attempted murder. Plax knows the law.

"...for instance, you can stab or shoot somebody below the waist, but not above because that's intent to kill. So everyone runs around stabbing everyone else in the ass. That's what they call Turkish Revenge.

Rule number 1:
Never piss off the person who brings you drinks. They may decide that you're not allowed any more drinks.

I never understood why some people seem to go to great lengths to be an ass to the person who brings them their food or especially their drinks.

Sparty on Burress you clownshoe. Typical state grad.

I'm sure you can move into Johnny Spirit's mother's basement and share his spartan sleeping bag.

I'm sure he was acting like an ass, it has been his MO for as long as he has been in the NFL, at the very least.

That said, it is an unattributed quote that sounds like it comes from either a bitter employee or is completely made up.

Tabloid garbage.

kwame: Yeah. Not acknowledging people? What a total creep.

It's fine for you or me to go around ignoring people, cause nobody gives a rat's ass who we are, but when you're admired (or were admired) by adoring fans, it is an ass move to completely ignore them when you're out in public.

It's called the LaTroy Hawkins school of handling fame.

/can't read
//can't write

Get the bum off of my Super Bowl bound team.

Speaking of can't read, the stupid video window appears over the text of the article for me. So, if anyone else is having this problem, here ya go:

------------------------------------------

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Knucklehead receiver Plaxico Burress was acting like a Giant jerk at the Latin Quarter even before he shot himself and ended up on the floor shaking and bleeding, employees at the Midtown club said.

"Burress was an ass," said a female bartender about his conduct last Saturday.

"He was rude and disorderly and didn't acknowledge anyone unless they were in the VIP section. He didn't treat anybody with respect.

"I'd rather work with regular customers. Celebrities like Plaxico just cause more problems. He gives the club a bad rep," the bartender said.

Burress, arrested this week on gun-possession charges, faces more bad news today.

His teammate, Antonio Pierce, who was with him at the club, and the doctor who treated Burress for the gunshot wound to his leg are expected to tell cops today what they know about the accident and hospital coverup.

Pierce, who took Burress' .40-caliber Glock to his own New Jersey home after getting his teammate to the hospital, will speak to police with his lawyer, Michael Bachner, sources said.

Bachner yesterday said Pierce did not know Burress was packing heat when they went to the Latin Quarter until the gun went off as Burress fumbled with it.

Dr. Josyann Abisaab, the New York-Cornell Hospital doctor who attended to Burress, will be accompanied by her own lawyer when cops interview her.

That lawyer, Barry Bohrer, could not be reached for comment.

Abisaab, 44, was suspended by New York-Cornell, which has said it is investigating why staff did not promptly tell police they were treating a gunshot victim as required by state law.

The hospital, which admitted Burress under the alias "Harris Smith," has said other people could be disciplined.

State law mandates that the attending physician or hospital management must immediately report treating gunshot wounds.

A law-enforcement source yesterday suggested that someone at the hospital other than Abisaab might have been responsible for calling cops that night.

"Do you really expect a doctor to make that call?" asked the source, suggesting that an administrative person, other than a physician busy with a bleeding patient, would be better suited to contacting police.

Sources have said Abisaab spent just a brief time with Burress, who remained in the hospital for 11 hours.

Also yesterday, the Giants said that former linebacker Jessie Armstead, who was interviewed by cops Wednesday, had gone to New York-Cornell to see Burress last Saturday. Armstead, now a team consultant, had not been at the club.

Mayor Bloomberg yesterday joked that his harsh criticism of the team for failing to promptly tell authorities about the shooting had made him a target for Big Blue and its fans.

"Governor, thank you for pointing out I could have been elsewhere," Bloomberg said during an event at Gov. Paterson's office. "I could have, for example, gone to a Giants game. Probably safer here at the moment."

In an ironic twist, a photo of Burress graces the tickets for this Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Meadowlands.
