Someone took the slogan "I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys Я Us kid" a bit too seriously.

2008-11-28 06:03:59 PM
holy christ...I know this is a sad situation, but dammit if I'm not laughing my ass off at that headline. Bravo subby.

Who has guns in the Palm Springs Metro area? They must have fighting over the last Wii.

/Preordered mine back in early November.

FTFA: "I think the obvious question everyone has is who takes loaded weapons into a Toys 'R' Us?" he said. "I doubt it was the casual holiday shopper."

I don't know. I remember those Hot Wheels collectors from my retail days. They'd do anything for the Treasure Hunts...

Discharging a weapon inside a store with innocent children around? I don't know if there's a bigger dick move than that.

"The events of why the shots were fired is still ongoing."

They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into. I say let them die.

According to quite a few Toys R Us employees, most sale items are removed from the floor the night before the sale begins.

I went to a Toys R Us before Xmas a few years back, ready to buy all kinds of stuff using a coupon book they sent, on the morning of the first day the coupons were valid. Not a single item was on the floor. Not one.

I never went back there, and never will.

"Ferguson said he asked police whether the incident was a dispute over a toy or whether it was gang-related."

Why can't it be both? You wanna get in the bloods, you gotta get a tickle me elmo on black friday!

It's like a real life version of the Arnold Schwarzenegger holiday classic smash hit Jingle All The Way.

Out yourself, subby! I laughed pretty hard at that.

I guess this headline sure kicks the crap out of the one I submitted. Stupid backwards R...

"We have two dead individuals inside the store," he said. "The events of why the shots were fired is still ongoing."

That's some fine police work there Lou.

It's California, so my guess is only the criminals.

So there really IS a War on Christmas.

2008-11-28 06:10:53 PM
This isn't as sad as the temporary Wal-Mart worker who got crushed by the stampede into the store.

2008-11-28 06:11:23 PM
There are plenty of gang bangers all over the inland empire/palm springs area. Not surprised.

2008-11-28 06:12:17 PM
Oh that's a good one Subs. Well done.

Yay for the results of a TV & internet fueled desire to buy shiate that no one needs in the first place, based on a made-up holiday. But at a discount.

/ Should have put up a plaque giving reverence to god, like they do in Ky. to stop terrorists.

2008-11-28 06:12:54 PM
Utterly senseless that this would go down in a Toys R Us.
Walmart, not so much.

2008-11-28 06:13:10 PM
Well, at least they only killed each other. Should save on judicial and prison costs.

Bullshiat.

Wait until 'Cyber Monday'! The internet will be super-jammed. You'll have to wait in line to get to any websites. It's going to be horrible.

From what I have read on it, this doesn't seem to have been about a toy. It was two men who shot each other in a shootout, but they apparently had issues before. They were two Hispanic men and potentially involved in some sort of gang-isms, though that is still not clear. But they do appear to have had issues before.

Meow.

Free death with every purchase.

Uhhh. No. There aren't.

Battles over everything from the last Nintendo Wii to good seating at the food court are being reported nationwide as Black Friday fighting continues.

Bah, wrong thread. ;(

2008-11-28 06:17:10 PM
.....said police told him two men with handguns shot and killed each other....

That's farking outstanding.

I work at a Gamestop and I had to work the opening shift this morning at 6am. Just before the store manager opened the gate to let the horde in, I turned to one of my co-workers and said, "If I don't make it, tell my family, I love them".

Now, between this and the Wal-Mart worker who got trampled, I feel like such an ass.

beerbaron: There are plenty of gang bangers all over the inland empire/palm springs area. Not surprised.

This is what I don't get. This area is about as nice as you can get. There's no projects here, no rivers of urine in the street gutters, no smoke from burning trash plugging your lungs, no 24-hr jack-hammering from incessant road repair. It's always sunny, always a nice little breeze, always quiet. How does anyone here get so angsty that they need a gang?

2008-11-28 06:18:30 PM
Gotdam soccer mom gangs! I had two drive-by minivans in my neighborhood last week.

Ok, I're a idiot. I actually was dumb enough to think that people who were commented had RTFA and that it was a short one with no information, but I never RTFA in the first place.

Shelf Life: "The events of why the shots were fired is still ongoing."

Because they were crazy people who thought if they didn't buy that toy right at 5 a.m. it would never be available again before the year 2200? That totally makes sense to me.

Just like trampling people to death in a WalMart because god knows WalMart runs out of items more frequently than a shop in the old Soviet Union.

I went to shop on Black Friday, and a rap crowd was in one place, and a Long Island Who concert crowd looking for general seating was in the other.

Some guy I know was bragging this morning because he went to a store early this morning and had to climb over shopping carts in order to get his merchandise. Buncha savages.

2008-11-28 06:20:50 PM
Heckuva job there, parents.

"I think the obvious question everyone has is who takes loaded weapons into a Toys 'R' Us?" he said. "I doubt it was the casual holiday shopper."

Ummmmm, I think the obvious question is why morans line up all night to fight over "deals" they are going to get, like paying $19.99 for a Rehab Barbie that cost some 4 year old in Malaysia 23 cents to make....

STFU and drop that WiiFit box if you want to live.
