That'll make me think twice before cursing out the Asian driver doing 25 mph in the left lane in my neighborhood.

Was friends with a guy in school who had no arms. He had a modified car that let him drive with his feet. He was just as shiatty of a driver as the rest of us and maybe a bit more crazy.

Rat: How do you flip off assholes that cut you off?

You wave what's left of your arms in a decidedly rude fashion. Or, if you are a guy, you have really dirty thoughts and wave your "third leg" at them.

I'm sorry.

Live in Atlanta. yeah. drivers suck here... BUT

Have you ever been in a big city in China? This guy says he is a safe driver. Safe is a relative term there.

Holy shiat. "I've been everywhere man." And city driving in China is by far the scariest place to drive or be a passenger. My cab driver hit this dude on a motorbike, then proceeded to jump out and cuss the poor farker out. Shanghai is the only city where I remember EVERY car trip. It seems that drivers there take chances with your life and their life as if it were a fun poker game.

I would say Mumbai sucks for driving too... but in light of recent events... they get a pass today.

He doesn't look like a very handy man to have around the house.

I don't see why this is a big deal. My neighbor's mother was born with some sort of defect and does not have arms. She's been driving for 30 years with her feet. She had a modification installed that lets her control everything around the steering wheel.

I think everyone should vote up the comment on the article that says he is h-armless. Currently it is at negative two. You don't have to register to vote; just click.

Incidently Taco, what's the weather like in Belfast? :P

How is this different from "drivers" texting? At least this guy was WATCHING THE ROAD while driving with no hands.

/texting behind the wheel ... already killed countless numbers

I know for a fact that other people in the developed world drive with their feet with no problems, legal or otherwise.

One of the other comments from the article.

Better driver than most 4 x 4 women drivers --- these cars are too big for them and their dark sun glasses in the rain make sure they do not know where they are going -- until they hit something

If he took a licensing test again after losing his arms and passed it then who cares. Otherwise yea, it's a bit of a concern.

I saw a mini news report about a woman in the states who drives with her feet. I can't remember what procedures she had to go through to get her license but if I'm not mistaken, there was some weird program that taught her how to do this and a private company that installed a special accelerator for her.

Obviously they don't have the right to bear arms in China.

Exactly who I thought of. Also rode with a fellow who had lost his arms in an electircal accident. No biggie.

Of course, TFA is from China and they aren't exactly progressive when it comes to disabilities and inclusion.

Arrest him? Fark that, give the guy a hand, he has obviously got a leg up on those more able bodied than he is. Wrists the saddest thing I have ever heard that they have fingered him for such a feet, toe I guess a law is still a law.

Hmm. Most of the people I saw in China did -not- have cars. In fact no one in their entire family had a car.

Yet a Chinese guy who was doing manual labor (an industrial job) could afford a car even after losing his arms? I'd like to ask what kind of work he's doing now, or more likely, what kind of connections he has...

/Chinese guy we knew was a liason to a U.S. company, working as their local rep. and even he couldn't afford a car.
