Still no cure for Cracked lists

Don't read them.

That'll be $4,000 please.

You know what?

I like Cracked.

There, I said it. I read one list, I usually find about 5 others worth reading.

Glad to see the Radioactive Scorpion Venom made the list.

When my workplace filter doesn't block the Cracked lists, I tend to like 'em. It's far better than that certain terrible place with those stupid skits...

...now I've gone and freaked myself out. Where's Rann Xerox when you need him?

Kick the crap out of bbspot. They aren't exactly hilarious, but they almost always at least crack mildly amusing, and rarely are painful to read like some of the drivel that gets posted regularly.

I like Cracked, their magazine was awful though.

They're funny, in a non-aggressive sort of way. I must admit that I do like them, but not like that.

2008-11-24 03:19:11 PM
I generally enjoy cracked lists so I don't mind them getting posted all the time. It's not like BBSpot or Super Deluxe :)

Dead for Tax Reasons: how much is cracked paying to get these stupid links approved all the time?

Apparently others are feeling that Cracked is sponsoring links.

From yesterday's Cracked "Disney Movie Deaths" thread:

Tommy Moo: Whew! A single article from Cracked almost slipped through without being greenlit on Fark. We can't have that now.

How many hours until 7 Kickass Sci-Fi Cancer Cures hits the main page?

What Dead for Tax Reasons said.

This is pathetic.

Eh... some of these technologies are related to or refinements on Gamma Knife technology.
Link (new window)
Yeah yeah, I know, wikipedia. Anyways, a friend of mine's mother was one of the test subjects for the gamma knife. If we can find better ways to do it will less waste energy, or a more easily replicable technology, I'm all for it.

Also, anaerobic bacteria combating cancer cells is hardly news.

Link (new window)

The genetically engineered virus idea is interesting, though I think its stalled overall. It had to do with targeting cells with a missing or damaged p53 protein chain, which covers a LOT of cancer types.

When I'm in full tinfoil hat mode, I cant help but think that a lot of cancer-curing technologies have gone by the wayside simply because they are not profitable enough...

I'll admit it, I like Cracked lists.

I like that they're decently researched (you know, for an internet comedy website) and I've learned quite a bit of random junk from side reading after learning about things on cracked.com.

For an information junkie like myself, it's useful.

I like Cracked.

I find their list amusing at the least.

And they come out with them frequently.

Hoorary for lots of content.

Yesterday I was watching Dying Young with Julia Roberts and that guy.
And then it made me think how I wouldnt mind making out with a [hot] guy who had cancer. They are just so desperate and are probably good kissers.

2008-11-24 03:47:29 PM
Cracked always has to use two pages for a list no matter how big or small the list is. I bet they'd do two pages for a list of one.

2008-11-24 03:51:20 PM
I must admit I like Cracked. The writing is at the exact level of immaturity that I exist on. Actually, I love that site.

2008-11-24 03:58:28 PM
What is supposedly wrong with Cracked? And why does fark keep linking to them and complaining like little babies?

2008-11-24 03:59:01 PM
I liked Cracked. Cracked Mazagine**, that is .. at, least back during the late 1970's/early 1980's. John Severin was (and still is) one of my early artist idols. And their characters were much more fun than Mad's: Sylvester P. Smythe, Sagebrush, The Talking Blob, and especially Nanny Dickering (FSM bless Bill Ward) ...

I've poked around the website a few times, since I've seen it linked on Fark ... but it seems to have little in common with the ones I'd read as a kid.

I wish they'd do book collections of the old Cracked stuff, similar to the Mad books I've seen recently. I have a few random issues from back when, and IMHO, its humor still holds up.

** no, that's not a mis-spelling

Cracked Magazine was a crappy rip-off of Mad Magazine.
However, these Cracked links are pretty good.
