He tied it to the leg of a table and plugged it into a timer? WTF?

/brilliant!

Sheesh...imagine the waiting and waiting for the timer. "Will it hurt?" "Will I be successful?" "What kind of mess will there be?"

Sure, life has its ups and downs, and sometimes things are hard to balance. When things began to teeter he had a vision of how to end it. What did he see? Saw.

That probably smarted, though it wasn't too smart.

Mental Illness isn't funny. My hopes and prayers are with the family.
I just hope he doesn't try it again.

Tragic suicide. It reminds me of Nicky Two Pockets who killed himself by falling on a knife...23 times.

Man, that's the kind of suicide you have to admire. Planning, skill, forethought, and really outstanding use of a McCullough. Plus, since the building's going to be demolished anyway, they don't have to worry about cleanup.

Only question: Did they really need an inquest to determine that he did, in fact, die by having his head cut off with a chainsaw?

Decapitation usually results in death...

I'm pretty sure, at this point, that's extremely unlikely.

I'd be more impressed if he'd built his own guillotine and done away with himself that way.

When you find a body with a severed head, the last thing you predict is suicide. Suicide is hard to commit to begin with, but the fact that this man was able to cut off his head? Balls, pure brass balls.

He should of set up a webcam live feed.

2008-11-20 12:10:28 AM
why don't suicides just get a gun and do it the easy way?

So...what was the point of the inquest exactly? Did they think maybe the shock of having a chainsaw start cutting through your neck gave him a heart attack?

Wade_Wilson: So...what was the point of the inquest exactly? Did they think maybe the shock of having a chainsaw start cutting through your neck gave him a heart attack?

My point. It wasn't that they were wondering if it was suicide, but that they were wondering if the chainsaw cutting off his head was the cause of death.

These smart-alec show-off suicides really make me tired. They only do it to annoy.

2008-11-20 12:20:49 AM
maybe the reason they needed an inquest is bcuz the coroner has been "sitting" on this job for 15 yrs

AR55: Suicide is hard to commit to begin with

If you really wanted to do it, I don't think it's all that hard. Fairly simple I would think.

"Hello 55th story window. Mind if I jump out?"
"Go right ahead."

End of story.

Okay, I take that back. The most common methods of committing suicide: overdose, cutting wrists, choking, and sometimes even shooting yourself, have large records of fail.

Luckily people are stupid and when they have that gun up to their head, they start twitching and miss a core section of their brain; only to awaken several hours later in a pool of their blood screaming in pain.

Pills is another common example, most people end up throwing them back up by natural reflex after they pass out. Damn body, trying to survive!
