You have the ability to get the stubborn female employees half off.

My grandma always used to get my xmas presents off of QVC.

She also had this idea that I was permanently 7.

Came here for a Mike Rowe reference. Left very happy.

Not QVC^, but still obligatory.

I didn't even know QVC was still in business. But then again, I had no idea that, in this day and age, people still got water from wells.
/I want a well. I would send the woman to get buckets of water for me every morning.

Back when I used to listen to local morning yokels Kevin and Bean, each year at Christmas they would call QVC (or HSN, whatever) and blindly order whatever was currently being offered and give it to their partner, Lisa May.

They didn't care what it was; they ordered it for her.

It was pretty funny. I guess.

That, and the other videos of him on QVC, are some of the funniest shiat I've ever seen.

I highly recommend the ones with the lava lamp, the precious moments figurines, Noah's ark, and the one with the doll that plays a little tune. Fall-out-of-your-seat funny. All should be in the "related videos" for the above link. I don't know how he lasted as long as he did, making fun of the products (and, implicitly, their customers) like that.

Only for the next 2 minutes, though.

Don't worry, THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!

Called them once, with a friend, drunk. The woman with a southern accent on the other end of the line did not take kindly to our drunkin prankery...

So yea screw em, buncha southern con artists.

That woman is about as elegant as they come.

I don't know if he pimped knifes for QVC, but the guy with a raspy voice and a love of knives, coins, and baseball cards is now part of the announcer team for TNA Impact.

Words can't begin to describe how ashamed I am of knowing this, but I spent many a just after college late night watching a local UHF channel that showed some home shopping crap devoted to knives, coins, and baseball cards while too drunk and wound up to go to sleep.

I remember him, the same guy that slapped a broadsword on a table and it shattered, sending a fragment into his leg. That was hilarious!

For those loving on Lisa Robertson, a few more injections and she'll be a self-propelled Botox factory.

I'd prefer they shut the whole QVC down and lose it from my cable bill.
I'll still shop Sharper Image though.

Do cable companies pay to run QVC? I'd have thought it was the other way around.

QVC could just go away. I know a distant relative bought something from QVC once. Was extremely proud of themselves for the awesome bargain they got...that was double the price of the identical yet still crappy item at a retail store.

The only upside of the lousy economy is that businesses I loathe like DHL and possibly Best Buy (add QVC) might go away.

I used to intern and freelance there, and I know a guy in lighting who just lost his job because of this. He had been there from the beginning. Sucks.

Your cable bill would increase, the shopping networks are either owned by the cable company or pay for carriage.

Oh and my guilty pleasure is the jewelry reverse auction channel. It's hilarious, (they slash the price every so often while the item is for sale). It's like Deal or No Deal, but all throughout the day.

My money's on:

1. He was the only one with a decent voice around.
2. Everyone was too dumb to realize he was mocking them as he made sarcastic comments with a straight face.

I'm pretty sure that all the shopping channels (and most of the Religious channels) give away their programming for free, which is why you get 20-30 channels of it on even "basic" cable.
