5. James Bond film GoldenEye, starring Pierce Brosnan as 007, featured what was the largest bungee jump ever performed at the time in 2002. Stuntman Wayne Michaels jumped off the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland, a 720ft (220m) drop. That year it was voted the best stunt of all time in a Sky Movies poll.

6. In 1991 Andrew Salisbury jumped from a helicopter attached to a bungee over Cancun in Mexico. He fell 3,157 feet before the bungee reached full stretch.

3,157 feet in 1991, makes 720 feet in 2002 not the longest at that time. (The movie came out in 1995 according to google which would make the date wrong, but the stunt would still have been after 1991.)

You're forgetting inflation. 720 swiss feet in 2002 is worth way more than 3157 mexican feet in 1991.

14. For $10,000 (£6,700) you can jump off a helicopter into the mouth of an active Andean volcano in Pucon, Chile. Breakfast buffet is included.

I'm assuming breakfast is included so one can make an offering to the volcano gods?

Twice in Vegas. While drinking. The sign up form had a box for "have you been drinking?" I looked at the person in charge and he just made a gesture as if to say, "Just check no, bro." It was set up so that you were dunked in a pool at the bottom. Pure awesomeness.

I jumped off a 180 some foot bridge while in Costa Rica. That really was amazing. I definitely recommend everyone does it at least once, it's an exhilarating experience.

I go to school an hour away from the Verzasca Dam where the Bond jump happened. You can still bungee from there, but it costs hundreds of dollars more than a starving student can pay.

Can't comment on that one, the tallest platform west of the mississippi was outside Circus Circus until they lost their lease in July of 05....

I have bungeed at the Macau Tower....it's a hoot but as the "purists" (I'm a noob btw) are all too quick to point out, there are guide wires are either side that while they don't slow you down at all, just keep you from penduluming into the main tower mast.....still a blast though....

11. One of the best places to bungee is off the Zambezi Bridge, covered in the mist from the thundering Victoria Falls just yards away.

Absolutely NOTHING about the bungee bridge in my hometown, for the longest time the only bungee site over a natural body of water east of New York (in North America, that is). Damn Brits.

/it's pretty dead now that the fad aspect has all but died
//place still gets business on St. Valentines nude jump-for-free day tho
///yes. It's free if you go over in the nude. Only on Feb 14.
