Damn, that's a good filter! Let me just say that I could not with great facility utilize this article for the purpose of genital self-stimulation to the point of orgasm.

(let's see the filter catch that )

I am completely allright with corporal punishment, when it's administered by a loving parent. See remove the love and then it becomes child abuse. There are teachers who loath certain children in thier classes, given half a chance to abuse that child under the guise of corporal punishment they will. And the result is a child scarred for life. No way I'd ever agree to allow a school to administer corporal punishment on my son. That's my job.

2003-01-08 03:25:55 PM
I grew up in California, and we had corporal punishment up
through Jr. High. Each year, the school would mail a little
card:

__ My child may receive corporal punishment.
__ My child may NOT receive corporal punishment.

My parents always checked the latter, so if I screwed up, I
would get a wicked swat with a pingpong paddle by the principal,
and then my dad would beat me half to death when he got home
from work. (Not that any of that was ever a deterrent to an
incorrigible little bastard like me, but it still sucked ass.)

2003-01-08 03:26:51 PM
I'm not opposed to corporal punishment at all, but if this story is true, I think that the teacher in this case deserves a little "eye-for-an-eye" punishment for his overdoing it.

Maybe have a huge guy come and break the teacher's jaw and see if he ever does it again.

At least in Japan people believe in personal responsibility. If a japanese dose something stupid, he accepts the consiquences for his actions.

Unlike in America where people use "Personal Disability Lawyers" as an excuse to get paid $$$ for acting like a jackass.

Got fat from eating McDonald's?
SUE MCDONALD'S!!

Got Cancer from smoking cigarettes?
SUE THE TOBACCO CORP!!

Child dies from choking on toy that explictively warns "Not to give to children under 3yrs of age"?
SUE THE TOY COMPANY!!

Your are offended by something you see on tv?
DON'T WASTE THE STRENGTH AND ENERGY TO REACH FOR THE REMOTE IN ORDER TO CHANGE THE TV TO ANOTHER CHANNEL, BYCOTT TO HAVE IT TAKEN OFF THE AIR!!

I blame christianity. Basicly, it says "If you screw up, have faith and God will look after you". That nasty little "faith" part is keeping people from thinking for themselves and turning them into a bunch of atomitrons manipulated by assholes like Jerry Farwell.

So, my point is: the japanese are and will forever be far more intellegent than the retarded american masses.

When I was growing up there were three corporal punishments:

1. The hand
2. The belt
3. The switch

What sucked the worse was having to get your own switch.

All administered by dad. The worse was having Mom say, "Wait 'til you Father gets home." Waiting was worse than the punishment.

And I was only every punished once when I was innocent. My parents were very fair.

Mr.Hanky

I grew up in Texas, and while in elementary school each teacher had their own paddle. In High school, there still was the option of corporal punishment. And I graduated in 1996. Texas schools are still allowed to use corporal punishment, and the more rural you get, the more you see it used, but it also happens in the cities.

I think the motto of many Texas teachers is: "You can have my paddle when you pry it from my cold dead hands."

In the four different school districts I went to none ever had paddling. I know that in Plano paddling is only legal for the sports departments. In the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex it seems pretty uncommon.

Psycho-Jay

What the hell was that rant about?

So are you saying the boy should have taken responsiblity and deserved to have his jaw broke?

What the hell does personal responsibility have to do with this article?

Christianity is to blame for this? How exactly? Was the teacher a Christian?

Man, you get more ridiculous with every post. If ever there was a good reason to sue somebody, this would be it.

Took to long eh?
Seems to me like it will take longer to finish lunch now, with the kids jaw wired shut an all.

Brazil,

We got the hand, the belt, or the yard-stick.

Mom was the yard-stick specialist. Of course my brother and I realized we could flex the muscles in our butt-cheeks to reduce the sting of impact.

This worked fine until Mom's yard-stick would bust, and then she'd go balistic slapping our butts as punctuation:

*slap* don't *slap* you *slap* flex *slap* your *slap* butt
*slap* when *slap* I'm *slap* spanking *slap* you!

ahhhh good times. good times.

Actually I appreciate how my parents raised me. They both loved us very much and were just. Other than my wife, they were both, by far, my most stalwart friends.

As for corporal punishment in school, once a principal tried to give me the ruler-hand-slap and I said no. I had been in a fight but I had not started it. Self-defense is a fundamental right this silly biatch apparently did not understand. She called my Mom and Mom said "Absolutely not." She believed me because I never lied to my parents. There was no reason to.

I also never went though that trite "rebellion phase." That's the difference between reasonable just parents and those that are not.

2003-01-08 03:46:25 PM
I don't find this amusing in the least. If this had happend to my child there would be nowhere this bastard could hide. Nothing a child could do could equate to getting this type of injury. I'd like to see this guy cooked up as the main ingredient on Iron Chef!!

2003-01-08 03:47:48 PM
"Won't somebody think of the robots?" Well played, soporific

While a corporal punishment in schools debate is a healthy thing, does anybody think that an adult repeatedly punching a fourth grader in the face is an appropriate form of discipline?

The kid probably discovered the teachers hidden camera.

AIIEEE HENTAI!!!!

Dr Tad, you are absolutely correct. This teacher deserves to have the hell beaten out of him and those who think this is funny only demonstrate their own highly questionable and faltering characters.

2003-01-08 03:51:39 PM
Psycho Gay Did you see the part of the article that said he tried to bull$hit the parents about it and it wasn't until he was arrested that he told the truth, so when in the lying to the parents do you find that he took personal responsibility??? because I'm sure if the parents believed him and didn't get arrested he would've kept what really happen to himself.

2003-01-08 03:52:28 PM
If anything, guys like Jerry "Farwell" would encourage the slapping. He'd be glad to twist some verse from the Old Testament into an excuse.

Seems like Jesus, you know, the guy that the whole Christianity thing is about, said "for inasmuch as you've done unto the least of these, you've done it unto me." I'm thinkin Jesus would have a problem with this.

PsychoJay is right about one thing though, and he offers proof. The American masses can be quite retarded, and I'm sure Jay's proof.

Jay, Tell Corky I said "howdy".

perhaps someone would be willing to explain something to me...
where did the term troll come from? is it a reference to the gross little creatures that live under bridges and eat goats? or is it like someone using a trolling motor when fishing for bass...
my guess is it has something to do with the second, else why would they call it flamebait? But I just wanna know for sure.

its more than likely a mix of the two since the troll is fishing for replies to his flamebait.

Brazil Yeah there really are no positives to growing up withour a father I suppose. My mother was a fairly reasonable parent that is until my older brother was stupid and got a girl pregnant at 19, then she started acting crazy.
