Bill Kristol, " ... Barack Obama is not going to beat Hillary Clinton in a single democratic primary. I'll predict that right now."

Has this guy EVER been right about ANYTHING?

He said McCain would pick Palin for VP. Not kidding.

Making a prediction and being wrong... that happens. Especially when you are in the news and have to say one. I don't have a problem with someone being wrong.

It's the jackasses that are so damn sure they are right and think you'd have to be an idiot to disagree... those are the ones that deserve the ridicule.

Acceptable: I am going to go with my gut, I think McCain will pull this out

Unacceptable: McCain is definitely going to win, you idiot libtards are delusional

Stoj: But Goldberg wasn't exactly wrong.

Um...the fear of society unraveling helped Obama enormously in this election?

I can understand being devil's advocate...but defending Jonah Goldberg, really?

I mean, really dude?

2008-11-06 07:09:28 PM
I would also add, given the past 8 years, if the democrats had lost this election...everything he said about American politics would've happened anyway.

The political shift that would've occurred had the GOP regained control after failing on every reasonable metric was going to occur no matter who was the democratic nominee.

Well, all of the other ones were proven wrong. Goldberg's, although I'm pretty sure it's wrong, probably couldn't be proven either way - there just no evidence on it.

Actually I disagree with that part.

It was partially tongue in cheek - but I cannot imagine what would have happened if Obama lost, to be honest with you. I think it would have been such a huge letdown for so many people - the level of anger would have been at record highs.

He sure has ascended to great heights bu being wrong pretty much all the time:

There's been a certain amount of pop sociology in America ... that the Shia can't get along with the Sunni and the Shia in Iraq just want to establish some kind of Islamic fundamentalist regime. There's almost no evidence of that at all. Iraq's always been very secular."

-- Barack Obama

Yay you respond to me with political speak, obama will not be president no matter how many times he says yes he can.

canyoneer Quote 2008-03-17 02:28:32 PM
Haha. Obama's toast. Damaged goods.

Y'all can pick nits all you like (bu...bu...but Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, etcetera ad nauseum), but the general public won't elect this guy in November - no way. If the Democrats are smart, they'll throw him under the bus and go with Hillary because he zero chance of winning the White House with all this baggage.

evareste Quote 2008-04-14 02:51:36 PM
I have been saying this for about a year now. Clinton will be the next pres. Get used to it. She has been chosen for us by the real power in this country. Its NOT a coincidence that a the US has not had an presidential election without a Bush or Clinton in almost 30 years (VP's count).

Suicidal Writer [TotalFark] Quote 2008-05-19 03:35:40 PM
Etchy333: Suicidal Writer: Once you account for the Bradley Effect, Obama is toast. No chance at beating McCain. Hillary could have pulled it off, but McCain has it locked now.

I never paid much attention to him before last year, but I'm becoming more and more convinced that he's playing a character just like Stephen Colbert is. He's not just wrong; he takes ludicrous positions apparently just because it will be funny watching him try to defend them. Then a month or so ago, he randomly turned on McCain (new window) like it was the most natural thing in the world. He has to be kidding.

Will the US avert a constituitional crisis before January the 20th? The Secret Michelle Obama tape to confirm Barack Obama's real birth place and citizenship
Posted by africanpress on November 6, 2008

"A large number of Americans believe that it will be the first time in the US history that the country will be governed by a non-US citizen if Obama is inaugurated on the 20th of January 2009 before determining his real birth place and citizenship. The Michelle Obama tape will cast light into this when it is finally made public."

No, in fact he's been wrong about almost everything, including Palin being a great pick for VP. In a lot of ways, I'm glad we have Kristol around - idiot republicans continue to listen to his advice despite it being reliably terrible. I hope he sticks around for that reason alone.

Seriously.

If I ever want to find out the truth about something, I just check to see what Bill Kristol has to say about the subject. Then I can be pretty confident that the exact opposite is probably true.

I wish he'd start publishing his picks for football games and stock market advice.

Yeah. Exactly. Bill Kristol was the first person who thought a Palin pick was a good idea. That's still an incorrect prediction.

Peter Mulhern, "In this case conventional wisdom is not just wrong but comically so. [Fred] Thompson will win the Republican nomination for two reasons. First, he's a very impressive candidate. Second, there's no realistic alternative. He will win the general election for the same two reasons."

In Peter's defense, McCain still doesn't look like a realistic alternative.

Heh. I knew Obama was going to win the prize. Heck it was on my facebook profile starting back in may.

Why did I think this? Well, honestly I felt Hillary would have been pretty good, but I didn't think america wanted another clinton in the WH. My wife cannot remember a time when a Bush or a Clinton didn't run the US. Think about it, Bush I was VP back in 1980.

Next, the GOP are damaged and stand for nothing. So I knew that the independents would move towards a more centrist Democratic party.

Had Obama been white he'd have picked up another 12 million votes...but we still have a ways to go towards that more perfect union.

were there seriously ads that only ran in California? I'm in a real red state but still saw plenty of national presidential ads, especially on the cable networks. I saw that Jeremiah Wright 527 ad a dozen times the day before the election. It would be a huge level of stupid if Rush doesn't understand national ads versus local ads.
