FuturePastNow: OK. I still think you should skip the weak graphics card and just use the integrated graphics (unless you need 23.976 FPS movie playback, which Intel's driver won't do and is the only real advantage a GT430 would have). Or go big and get a real graphics card, but I doubt that would be justified by the machines' usage. And if you do go with the integrated graphics, there's another reason to consider the 2600k over the 2600 non-k: it has the HD3000 graphics instead of HD2000.
vegasj: Which leads me to my next question...when a mother board has PCI Express 2.0 x16 2 or 3 slots they say "support x16; x16/x16; x16/x8/x8 configurations"can two 2.0 x16 video cards be ran in the 2 PCIe slots ok?
RedHoodie: So I have a quick question for the geeks who are obviously much more knowledgeable than I am, since they're dickin around with hardware an shiat.I've got a Dell Inspiron 15 with Vista - yes, I know, stock as hell, long story - and although I've had flawless performance the two and a half years I've owned it, it's been acting funny lately. Mostly when I'm online and I'm browsing, I'll get (NOT RESPONDING) all of a sudden, and then nothing works, no CTRL+ALT+DEL, no Task Manager, nothing. I have to hard power cycle, reboot, it runs chkdsk, everything is copacetic, and I go on as usual...until it happens again, 5 minutes or 5 hours down the line.I run MSE, Avira, and Malwarebytes. Not one has turned up a single issue. Yes, they're all updated.I use CCleaner to uninstall shiat I'm not using, and clear my startup list. Everything is updated to within an inch of it's life.So I bought a WD My Passport 500GB drive, the better to clean my lappie with. I installed the software and ran a backup, thinking that if I used it as a separate storage device and cleared as much as I could from the laptop, things might run a bit smoother. However, I'm not really happy with not being able to browse the files on the WD. I'd rather be able to access and use it just like a flash drive. Is wiping the external drive and using it like a huge memory card a possibility?
2late2baviking: Any recommendations for excellent data recovery software
WorthNoting: Does the computer technology exist to "separate sounds" on something recorded?
vudukungfu: Knock knock.
FuturePastNow: I think my cable company screwed up. I subscribed to an internet-only cable plan- no TV. I checked the bill and that's definitely all I'm paying for.I haven't owned a real TV in years, but I finally bought one so I could watch movies on a nice big screen. On a whim I plugged it into the cable line, and whammo, hundreds of channels. So, anybody here work for a cable company? Can they tell I'm watching TV and not paying for it?
Argus Prescott: Broktun try Gimp or Gimpshop, they are both free and open source and work very well. Gimpshop is a mod of Gimp to make it more like Photoshop: http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/
