gayb: FuturePastNow: Sleep is quite useful for laptops. You put them to sleep, throw them in a bag. Almost instant restart, just open the lid and it's ready to go.That's true. Forgot about laptops. I wish the wireless connection would go to "sleep" and come back on as fast.
Obdicut: Hey Fark Tech Geeks:I've got Speakeasy as my ISP-- love them, very reliable. Speedtest.net reports my download speed at 676 kb/s. However, downloading through steam, I never get above 168 kb/s. Does Steam self-limit it's downloads? I couldn't find any documentation on this.

I couldn't find any documentation on this. Thanks in advance.By the way, Nvidia's latest geforce driver (178.24_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql) left my GPU underpowered, unable to function after doing voltage tuning. It also caused a lot of artifacting in Warmhammer Online and a big slowdown in Maya. Recommend caution.
TehNacho: I bought Call of Duty 5-
No_47: TehNacho:I bought Call of Duty 5-It's called Call Of Duty: World at War. It is most certainly not CoD5.Now, make sure the sound options (in the game) are set to two-speakers and not 5.1 if it's not a 5.1 system. Possibly try disabling EAX. Otherwise, go buy some decent speakers.
No_47: Know how to change the speaker settings in Windows?Control Panel - > Sounds or something
crunchief: another stupid question that won't be answered .... but what do i need to hook up the pc to the flatscreen tv?
TehNacho: Oh, turns out that it's a DVI to HDMI cable.
No_47: The 6200 should have an s-video out, if it's half decent it should have an adapter with it that lets you plug into composite and component.

nosajghoul: Windows media player 10 is SUCH a piece of crap. After 10 minutes of 'installing', the install came back with an error. Upon researching, I found a 'solution' that had me go into dos mode and mess with file permissions. After all that and trying to reinstall again, it still failed at the same point. Now, whenever I open a wmv file with firefox, a new window pops up with a title that says 'ActiveMovie Window' and even it doesent play the video. Researching THAT comes back with more bugs. Jesustapdancingchrist. n|n you MS. (my attempt at an ascii art middle finger.. I know, fail)
crunchief: the video card does have a dvi port so what next?
crunchief: i didn't realize that the agp slot was so much faster as being a stand alone, so i bought a pci card. silly me, so now i have no problem upgrading to an agp card but which one is best to play the games .. please note we're talking around 300 $ total fix k?
