Mike: assuming you have a 64-bit cpu on it, yes.Drivers may be a problem for XP x64, less so for Vista x64. I'm still using XP 32-bit so I can't say from experience. If you get 64-bit XP make sure you are not getting the Itanium version. What app do you have that needs more than 2 GB of process space?
TehNacho: I have a core 2 duo... the 6550 which is a new enough processor I figure it supports 64 bit... amiright?
net sh int ip reset
No_47: It's unlikely for a virus to cause that.But...If you're running XP run this.If you're on Vista open a command prompt as admin (click start, type cmd in the search box, right click cmd shortcut, select "run as administrator") and run net sh int ip reset and reboot the pc.Maybe reboot your router/modem thingy, too
jebusfreak: No it's definitely a virus. My computer is randomly playing metallica songs that I don't have on my computer, without any programs open. I can't open anti-virus websites, or even run installers without it coming back "this is not a valid win32 app"

Grote-Man: How do I tell what kind of motherboard I have. Without opening the computer, preferably.I probably need to upgrade my processor but don't know how to tell if I can just upgrade the processor or the cpu/mobo.

skink: HAI GUYZ...Can I use a PCI express video card in a PCI expansion slot?I have:eMachines Model c2881-Intel Celeron D 2.66mhz (Stop laughing!)Chipset Intel 845GV3 x PCI expansion slots.Trying to upgrade, it currently has NO video card.
FuturePastNow: [i218.photobucket.com image 614x434]
gayb: Wonder if that voids the warranty.
No_47: PCI cards are arse.About the best you can get is a Geforce 5200, and they're just plain terrible.I'd highly recommend a new computer.
FuturePastNow: Of course, even an 8400GS, crappy as it is, would be limited by the PCI bus.Go with the 6200 if you don't want to replace your whole computer. It should be able to decode most video formats and drive a monitor up to 1920x1200, which I don't think an FX5200 will do.
TehNacho: I speak from personal experience. Save the extra 70-80 bucks and get an 8800 GTS.
gayb: I've got a PCIe 8400something, and it's a low end card that won't cure AIDS, but it works. It's not going to suplode instantly after installation.
No_47: and the 9600GT is better than the 8800GTS
Hello Dolly: Some Questions. What is the distance limit for VGA?Do they make a Bnc - Vga adapter? not vga-5bncThanks
nosajghoul: video of a fat mexican taking a diahreah jalapeno dump in the tijuana sewer
nosajghoul: Windows vista print functionality is quite frankly the shiattiest piece of crap Ive ever witnessed. I could probably find video of a fat mexican taking a diahreah jalapeno dump in the tijuana sewer and not feel as dirty as I do when forced to mess with vista.Fark you MS.
No_47: Is it a Vista machine? The parental controls can do that. They're pretty good.
