Dan09 got there before you. Unlike you, he actually followed up his response with some interesting posts. You might have to take another day off, work on your form.

Oh, and before I forget, are you ready to give the same respect to Obama as you required us to give Bush? I mean, look at that mandate!

Possibly because you're not an American. Now stop whining, Obama was the better candidate, he won by a landslide, and that's exactly as it should be.

3 million is a land slide?

Popular vote matters?

Unfortunately not.

It's the biggest winning margin of the popular vote since 1976.

Granted, he did have 96% of the black vote, and more than two-thirds of the new & young voters

globalwarmingpraiser: CanadianConservative: globalwarmingpraiser: CanadianConservative: globalwarmingpraiser: CanadianConservative: globalwarmingpraiser: Oh and ADD is not a disability it is a adaptation for people to be able to act in stressful situations.

You should get yourself to the Psychology department at any University and get them to write that down. You've totally explained it.

People who are highly successful in intense jobs tend to be ADD. Look at EMS, FIRE, MILITARY, POLICE, IRON WORKERS, and many others. The Hyper Focus aspect makes you think extremely clearly when in Oh shiat situations. I know this one first hand. A lot of the literature notes this as well. I have ADD, and live with it.

Of course that requires actual recognition that you aren't just "hyper" or a problem child and therefore never get diagnosed, which in most cases leads to terrible work habits, lost jobs, inconsistent self image and if you are REALLY lucky an addiction (because you know most ADD/ADHD sufferers usually end up with an addiction to something, right?).

Saying it's an adaptation and not a disability (which it is for some people that have any number of the associated psychopathy) leads people that need to have it as a disability because they didn't/couldn't get the help they needed because they weren't covered or never had the opportunity.

Congratulations to the many people that get slotted in a perfect job for their disability but it's disingenuous at best to say it's an adaptation.

Second Try: It's not cool. It's stupid. A sad day for America and anyone who doesn't like Marxism.

I'm so tired of this bulls**t! Show me one statement Obama has made (in context) where he is advocating marxism, socialism, communism, etc. While you are looking for non-existent statements (remember, they must be in context (don't Bevets me man)) remember that actions speak louder than words. Remember that that bastion of fiscal conservatism, George W. Bush, went on national television and begged, begged congress and the American people to allow the bailout, which nationalized the banks. That is socialism. But go ahead and prove me wrong.

If the "one-drop" rule was considered so racist in its, why is a man who is half black referred to universally as black? Why isn't he the champion of multi-raced individuals instead of blacks?

Heheh, thanks. I'll answer for myself, and yes, I'll give Obama the same respect that he entitles himself to through his actions. Though I don't think that margin is exactly a "Mandate" since Electoral votes obviously don't mean a thing in relation to popular votes (See: 2000 election). However, 3M voes is still pretty decent (But not, IMO, a mandate.).

mrsirjojo: If the "one-drop" rule was considered so racist in its, why is a man who is half black referred to universally as black? Why isn't he the champion of multi-raced individuals instead of blacks?

Good question.

In a lot of racist groups, there is only one thing worse than being the 'wrong' race, and that's being bi-racial. I am white, and engaged to a Filipino girl (she was born in the United States, so that's Filipino as an ethnicity, not a nationality) and I've considered what kind of trouble our children could face. I'm not nearly so worried.

I am interested in why people seem to overlook it, though.

"We need defib, stat. Oh.... loook. It's a kitty! Here kitty, kitty, kitty. Hay! Is that a bandage!?!"

There have been a few ADD/ ADHDs that have came through my office. Those kids have a very difficult time focusing on simple tasks. However, these kids are few and far between. Most are just single parent moms who want their kid doped up so they will be easier to handle.

If you function well in society and someone gave you an ADD diagnosis, the diagnosis was probably to cover insurance requirements and you have a hypersensitivity to sugar.

Therapist, doctors, even social workers don't realize that if you give a diagnosis, it's there for life. If you can't find a diagnosis to fit a client in the DSM, maybe the client doesn't need your services.

4. Provide free healthcare to all Americans

Hopefully not until after the ban on federal funding for stem cell research has been lifted. There are a lot of backwards policies that need undoing, and they need proper prioritization.
