I'd be careful with that, unless it's always been your dream to meet a member of the Secret Service.

Makes sense as they're both mercenaries for special interest groups.

Thanks, after all the times that song was stuck in my head from the commercials, you show me that.

I think there might be something wrong with me, I lose interest in that game somewhere in rebels/pirates set of sub missions... the story just failed to be interesting...

Yeah, I loved the first one. This one is boring, and having to pre-purchase the airstrikes (instead of on-the-go, via the website) blows. After I nuked what's-his-face's-bunker, I traded this in for store credit for Fallout 3.

Not really..the big story has always been Palin. Good press or bad, she's really the only press the 'pubs are getting. Which is odd considering how obviously underqualified she is.

McCain is just another old white guy, you can copy articles written about Bush Jr and paste them into a McCain article.

But it is odd that the only one of the group with any military experience isn't in the game.

I just started it, and my girlfriend has been hogging my Xbox to play "Overlord" and the new "Viva Pinata" a lot.

It does seem to have an "Oblivion with guns" vibe to it. I was glad to see the VATS targeting system survived.

The map kind of sucks, I'm not a fan of the soundtrack (the ironic old-timey music gets old fast), and the Quest Tracker really blows.

It sometimes doesn't add new quests, and I have at least one quest I've completed that it won't clear out.

The computer hacking and lockpicking minigames are a pain in the ass.

Maybe it's because they assume McCain will have no political career to spoof after October

While the game engine is the same as Oblivion the combat systems is 10 times as deadly. While movement and character interaction are the same as in Oblivion the combat system is worlds different. In Oblivion I rarely, if ever died, but in Fallout 3 you really have to watch what the hell you are doing or you get killed. The VATS combat option adds a lot to the over all different feeling.

The character building system is pretty straight forwared XP for levels. Each level you get a number of skill points based on your intelligence stat and can choose one perk. Every two levels a new set of perks opens up.

The other thing about this game is the mini-games and crafting ability. The mini-games revolve around lock picking and hacking. The locking picking game is okay, but the hacking one makes my eyes cross. As for the crafting ability that is the most interesting. You can find schematics that list a number of parts you need to collect. Once collect if you utilize a workbench with the parts you can construct the device. So far I've found a rocket launcher and some spring loaded thing.

The game itself is an open sandbox non-linear style adventure quest game. You can just do the side quests, build a reputation, destroy towns, save people etc... or you can strictly stick to the main quest and ingnore the other parts. I've been playing for about 10 hours now and barely left the starting area.

They are similar, Bethesda used the same game engine in both, but Fallout 3 is a vastly improved version of that engine. While some fan wankers will say that if it is not a top down isomorphic turn based game it is not Fallout I say this one is as good as Fallout 1 or 2. Fallout 3 is a fun and enormous game that I'm throughly enjoying.

Fallout 3 is constantly exciting. I don't say that about many games. Swift Learner and Educated FTW. That said the PC version needs about a good month for them to get around to fixing the numerous bugs. If you have an ASUS card you need to uninstall gamerOSD and SmartDoctor and well as uninstall ffdshow if you use that.

I am still enjoying Fallout 3, and I'm around level 6. They got the level pacing right in this, as opposed to Oblivion.

I'm excited about a second playthrough once I get this finished.

I'll be choosing between buying Fallout 3 or LittleBigPlanet this weekend. I want both, but damn if that isn't quite a spread in terms of differing gameplay. I don't really have time for two new games.

Holy crap there's a lot of good stuff coming out for just about every platform right now. It's unreal.

I'm not convinced this is real. It was "made official" on mischief night and I have a hard time believing the two would ok their likenesses for a game where kicking Venezuelan ass is necessary (or for such a buggy piece of trash anyway).

I don't think they'd have to give the OK, given that they are public figures and it would likely be protected by free speech laws.

But because it's a commercial application I do believe they would have to give the ok or, at the very least, they would be paid for it (which implies an OK).

Fallout 3 is out? Interesting. Not sure that my T60 could handle it, however -- T7200 C2D and 2 GB of RAM are above minima, but a Mobility Radeon X1400 ain't exactly a blazing 3D gaming card by modern standards.

No on-demand airstrikes? WTF, that's half the fun in the first game.

I'd got for LBP unless they announce they are patching Fallout 3 for PS3. It's apparently buggy as hell.

Really, Fallout 3 is a good game on consoles, but it's WAY better on computer.

fallout 3 owns. PLain and simple. But as a big fan of the fallout 1/2/tactics, i am some what disaappointed.

- no targeted groin shots
- no different ammo types (JHp vs AP, concussion vs incendiary grenades)
- reduced number of weapons
- level cap of 20 is too low - im level 10 and ive only explored maybe less than 25%
- a lot less enemy types
- dialoge and quests are not as deep or interesting as in the prior games. also since text isnt a primary descriptor of events anymore, tha game seems to be a bit more shallow.
- constantly needing to repair weapons is annoying, if realistic

That being said, the game is a huge blast, and ive played like some 20 hours this week. Theres alot of land and alot of locations to cover. Im just afraid im gonna hit that level 20 really early on when i have alot of plot left to go.

/high repair skill, you need it
