Now that's farking stupid. Any sane person know you need to drink enough to see triple, then just steer for the middle.

I had a friend a long time ago that used to put his hands at the 10 and 2, then put his thumbs up as a "guide". The left thumb stayed on the yellow, right was on white

For me, have to close one eye not to see double is a pretty good clue I shouldn't be driving.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Unless she was a cyclops, because that would be completely inappropriate.

Did she plant one foot on the road to keep the car from spinning?
Works for me when the bed starts to twirl.

I think the real story here is the link to the other article:

It's early and I can't yet figure if that's a really good or a realllllly bad idea.

C'mon, who hasn't done that?

It's called the sharpshooter.

Think about it...

I've done that more than once.

I was driving from Miami to Atlanta early one morning (3 AM) and I was so tired (not drunk) that I was seeing double,....couldn't hardly stay awake despite slapping myself in the face a few times. Wish I'd thought of closing one eye. I made it to a rest area and took a two hour nap and then continued.

Freind of mine got discharged from the Navy back in 88. Came and picked me up the day after he came home and we went over to Bremerton to see a Navy buddy of his. We were drinking at his place untill about 0230. We drove back across the Tacoma Narrows bridge, at about 110 MPH, and I look over to see my freind holding his hand over his right eye.

I was too drunk to care.

That was a good night.

Sweden's legal limit is .02?! Apparently the Swedes can't hold their liquor.

The legal limit is .02? My BAC gets that high pushing a grocery cart down the beer aisle at Kroger.

I have a lazy eye and when I'm tired I can't make my eyes track together. This makes me see double and messes up depth perception. So I occasionally drive with one eye closed or with a hand over one eye.

I had a buddy that kept an eye-patch in his car for this exact reason. This is the same buddy that ran his car into his house because he tried to take turn to park at 50.

Article says 10 times the legal limit, that's 0.20%.

That's a pretty low limit but my guess is that they think people will know that driving after 2 or more glasses can get them to jail.

You don't want to test the law by driving with 3-4 or 5 glasses.

I am ashamed to admit that I have done this, but proud to admit that it took ~27 beers to get me to that point (where I was not only seeing double but stupid-drunk enough to drive). For what it's worth, I, my car and everyone else's cars and property made it home unscathed.

I have a similar problem. Neither eye is 'lazy', the muscles just equally point to the wrong spot to focus on. I can go without glasses, but after about 6 hours I get a monster headache. Unless I make an effort not to focus any more than 20 feet away. Apparently, this condition can be caused by having eyesight that is too good. No kidding.

It is fun to let people try on my glasses for a couple minutes. Their eyes automatically focus to the prism lenses, but when they take them off after a couple minutes, the eyes take a few moments to re-adjust. I had one guy walk into a wall because of that.

Am I a bastard?
