Ok first of all I had like 3 hours of sleep when I submitted this thread. Secondly, last week they only greenlit one thread so I figured Id just save the trouble and put the big names all in one thread.

But dammit that game sucked. I watched the first half and United were just completely dominant. I fell asleep during half time and woke up in time to see the last 10 minutes. farking so many chances that just went to shiat. Heres hoping that Pool and Chelski tie as well.

Holy shiat Hull just keeps winning as well!

I'm slightly mad because I had both C.Ronaldo and Rooney on my fantasy team this week because of Torres' injury. ManU seems pretty inept at scoring goals when you take in account how many good strikers they have. Rooney, Tevez, C.Ronaldo (yes he's a forward), Berbatov. Hell Liverpool and Chelsea only have two between them in that quality bracket, Torres and Anelka.

Holy shiat Hull just keeps winning as well!

I keep expecting them to finally lose and play the way that they're "supposed" to be playing but the bastards keep on winning. Who saw that coming?

I'm trying to figure out what to watch now. Blackburn plays at 12:30 so I'll probably have that on, but what else is there? Reading and QPR play in the Championship and Barca doesn't play until 4. Today is a pretty shiatty day for soccer.

Hull is simply amazing. Great job on them. meanwhile Santa Cruz almost got a goal at Ewood Park except the shot hit the post and bounced out. Both sides threatening to get the first points.

Also Hull play Chelsea on Wednesday and Manchester United the following Saturday. This is going to be the true test.

2008-10-25 12:53:42 PM
Bayern just scored their third unanswered goal and are now up 3-2 in the 64th minute. Still scoreless at Ewood Park and in the Reading/QPR match.

I can't believe FSC isn't going to show the L'pool Chelsea game this week but will be showing the L'pool Spurs game next week.

Please show the Liverpool Chelsea game this week.

Oh and good job Hull City. Remember what it feels like to be in this position. Go ask Citeh.

FSC has second choice of games to televise in the US. Setanta Sports has first choice and usually takes the big games and leaves FSC with whatever is left. This is most likely why FSC doesnt have the Chelsea/Liverpool match.

Also Boro should be up 1-0, but a horrible offsides call (the guy was clearly on) rules the goal null.

I watched Hull City beat Man U 2-1 in 1973. Took me years of therapy & drugs to get past that.

Hull have made a great start but they will get mangled v chelski & Man U. No disgrace there.

No added time in the Bayern game and they come back from being down 2-0 to beat Wolfsburg 2-0. Still no score in either the Reading/QPR match (just about done with halftime) and the Blackburn/Boro match (just about to be at halftime.

No worries mate, apparent apology accepted.

Since on average a Rugby League thread is about once every six months, I feel your pain.

The England/PNG game was fantastic by the way, sucks to be England.

He was class during the Euros. I think he could do fairly well in the EPL if put in the right situation.

I should clarify that the goalie wasn't the one that scored, but created enough of a confusion that another player was able to get a strong header to beat the goalie.

WTF! Breaking news for any football fans

Tottenham sack Ramos, Comolli and Poyet (new window)

ok seriously, i'm not shocked it happened, but why before the game against bolton tomorrow? even if they thought they wouldn't even manage a point from them, sacking the manager less than 24 hours before will all but guarantee a complete shambles

typical f*cking tottenham

I don't care that Bolton game could be a shambles. The team has been shiate the whole year, and that entire management staff had to go. Vamos Ramos!

2008-10-25 09:25:54 PM
and it would appear they had already lined up Redknapp - can't say I'm very impressed with that, once again he's ditched pompey for a better offer

But i don't think they couldve picked a much better manager - he's turned around teams and is known for his great motivational skills, he can probably get the star players at tottenham to turn in a performance tomorrow (contrary to my earlier statement, before it had been released they had an actual manager lined up on friday)

not sure if that'll come through against Arsenal and Liverpool next week, but I personally couldn't see any way out for them until january, even if they sacked ramos, but they have managed a big coup in getting redknapp - they still need some depth in january, but redknapp should fight off relegation

Still, i hope Levy and co are as impetulent as always and sack him when they aren't contesting europe by march

the reaction tomorrow (today) is gonna be fun...

Liverpool, if they can refrain from having to pull any more games from directly out of their ass, might be the favorite to win the Premiership this season. Lord knows they've had a while to wait for it.

As long as LFC can keep their starters healthy we have a great shot at taking home silverware, even the premiership. We did kind of get away with one this week I think. Played well, but not amazing. We were helped by a few injuries for chelsea.

hang on

Cech, Bosingwa (Sinclair 84), Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Mikel, Kalou (Di Santo 58), Deco, Lampard, Malouda (Belletti 58), Anelka.

who were Chelsea missing? Drogba and Joe Cole

Liverpool: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt (Leiva Lucas 88), Gerrard, Riera (Hyypia 90), Keane (Babel 60)

Liverpool were missing Torres and Skrtel

I would hardly say Chelsea were immensely weakened - drogba's only played 130 minutes all season and they seem to be doing fine without him - they were the home team against a similarly weakened side, no excuses

I'd say Essien is their biggest loss, but they've been playing extremely well without him. The injuries thing is a pretty poor excuse when you've been beating teams 3/4/5-0 while having those injuries.

That being said, Liverpool bossed that game. No one can say that it was a poor game by Chelsea, they were just outplayed today and the scoreline could and should have been worse.

We're top of the league, knocked off ManU and Chelsea at the bridge all the while dealing with injuries to Torres. Get the fark in.

2008-10-26 05:13:42 PM
Ballack, Essien, Drogba, Joe Cole trumps Torres and Skrtel. these teams will look totally different next time vthey meet. That said; Go Reds! Well done. Now, sell Keane in January and let's buy a real world class striker.

2008-10-26 05:50:54 PM
i don't know - true ballack and essien were also missing - but they did have lampard deco malouda and mikel in there - I will grant that they had a weakened set of options, but there weren't exactly any unknowns in the starting line-up

what it does highlight is chelsea's superior depth in quality - we might have been getting results without torres and occasionally gerrard recently but when it comes to long term we are still the underdogs, we need some good fortune with injuries this year

2008-10-26 06:02:50 PM
I still cant believe United tied Everton. I mean come on, that one was going to be tough, but they aren't really playing that well. So many close misses and it overall just a poor performance. You cant really stay in the title race and miss opportunities like that.

2008-10-26 06:15:43 PM

See, I think you're allowed to complain about injuries if you're struggling to beat teams 1-0 or things like that. However when you're killing teams by more than 3 goals and highly favored over the co-first place team it's some pretty weak sauce to complain about injures after losing.

If you can play better than Liverpool against the mid-table teams don't complain when Liverpool (also missing their best player) whoops your ass on your home turf. They've had weeks to get accustomed to not having Drogba or Essien.

2008-10-26 07:42:31 PM
Were there any Chelsea fans complaining about injuries? They just got straight outplayed this morning. As much as it made me feel dirty, I was cheering for Liverpool because I hate Chelsea more and I feel like Liverpool may end up dropping some games later on down the road. Before this game everyone was talking about how Liverpool was barely winning their games (they almost didnt qualify for Champions League group stage) and looked likely to finish fourth again. I guess one game changes everything, but I am still not sold on them and I think Chelsea just got a bit too cocky.
