In other news, the Rangers continue to win against teams who have no answer for the Zherdev/Duby line. And the Rangers have no answer for teams who've figured this out. Ah, another season of false hope until we get farking railed in the playoffs to a more complete team... oh, well

Rangers Coach Tom Renney was knocked unconscious briefly after being hit on the head by a stick in the second period. He was taken to the dressing room, where he watched the rest of the game with medical personnel.

"I wasn't real sure where I was there for a while," Renney said 30 minutes after the game

what the...?

Their three losses were an OT loss to the Wings who ARE a superior team, a very tight loss to the Stars, and the Buffalo game.

A true test will be against PITT tonight.

Can't find the picture of former Leafs coach Pat Quinn. A few years ago he was hit in the face twice by the puck in 2 games while working the bench and had 2 nice bruises. Classic Quinn, stitched up and was back in minutes both times.

The refs wear helmets, maybe the sissy coaching staff should too.

/been hit by a puck in the face playing pond hockey and have 5 stich scar on upper lip, but have all my teeth.

From the highlights I saw, he got knocked upside the head, was lead off the the dressing room and was back a short time later.

From the game I saw, he was knocked unconscious and remained on the floor behind the bench for a while. Jim Ramsey and someone else managed to get Tom to his feet, and they led him back to the medical room. Word from the announcers was that Renny was continuing to watch the game. He never came back to the bench.

Felt bad for him, took a damn hard whack to the top of the head. Glad he's okay.

Can't wait for the game tonight!

Still doesn't negate his first point. Stop diving.

(not a comment on this year, haven't seen him play save for the two games against the sens)

I remember that exchange between Jagr and Crosby. Though he left on terrible terms, I will always miss #68 in a Pens sweater.

YouTube has a plethora of anti-Crosby/diving videos. It also has a few other players (randomly selected):

Ovechkin gets tripped, or takes a dive? (new window)

Avery takes a dive (new window)

Avery "hooked" (new window)

There are more, but who cares. I don't pay attention to diving - I'd rather pay attention to the things that make hockey great and the great players on every team.

As a Pens fan, the "young" Sid used to bother me as, on occasion, there was embellishment to draw power play time. However, the current season Sidney Crosby appears much more mature. Though, most will never let the "diver" reputation die.

I hope Renney is alright. Taking a puck off the noggin is never fun.

Smooth ice to all!

Since I don't think I've seen a Pens game this year, I do hope that Crosby has matured. Even as someone who bleeds Rangers blue, I admit the kid is good. He can put the diving rep behind him if he just plays his game, nice and clean. That said, Crosby SUCKS!!! ;)

I really get pissed off when people claim the Mets choked this year. Due to my location in Georgia, I am by no means a Mets fan. But I'm also level-headed enough to realize this year was not a choke for them. Last year with a 7.5 lead with 17 left to play? Oh yeah, that was an epic choke. But they never had a lead bigger than 3.5 games in September. It's not a choke, it's losing a pennant race. Pull your heads out of your asses.

:p

Hard work by the Rangers, and "turtling" by the Penguins defense - never a good combination. That and King Henry is always phenomenal. Congrats to the Rangers for their win this time around. :)

I'd love to see rematch of the Pens and the Rangers in the Playoffs.

Oh, and all the teams playing on Saturday with zero games on Sunday made me sad. :(
