Do you have any idea how difficult it is to shoot from a moving aircraft without a full auto weapon?

Its not easy! Just firing from the back of an F150 doing 65mph diagonal to the corn rows is tough enough to sight in a coyote.. Flying adds a whole new dimension and factor of difficulty!

Can we have a ban on Palin greenlights where the linked story has nothing to do with her?

Ha ha ha, just kidding. Of course we can't.

Anyway, isn't it good news that wild species are being found in places where they had previously been exterminated/driven away? We have hawks in Central Park now.

Ferrel swine are not rare.

From Michigan Department of Natural Resources;

"Hunters with a valid hunting license of any type are encouraged to shoot feral
swine (free-ranging wild pigs) in counties shaded in gray on the map below."

Only 200 lbs? It must have been a little baby piglet. That's so mean of her to just let it die!

Sorry, subby, but I RTFA and saw no mention of "Russian Boar".

Feral pigs are common as yellow dog democrats down here.

I like how the article mentions there "never has been a native population of feral swine in Massachusetts." Hey, writer, how about mentioning the fact that Russian (or even Eurasian) boars are not native to North America? Someone must be importing them and letting them loose to provide game animals. That someone is a probably a money grubbing hunting guide or outfitter. Fark guys like that. Missouri has such a big problem with feral hogs that they're shoot-on-site, any day, any time, any weapon, any bait, any spotlight....

Okay, I RTFA again and the reporter calls it a Russian Boar.

I was wrong, subby. Sorry.

I call Shenanigans though. I doubt it was Russian.

When I was a little kid some 35 years ago, my Mom and I saw a giant black boar, tusks and all, trotting alongside the road in suburban Maryland. I don't think it was an import.

Why did she take so long, couldn't she see it from her house?

A couple years ago I saw what looked to me to be a wild boar (it looked like Pumba) crossing the road in Kansas. A buddy of ours shot one in the same area later in the (deer) hunting season. I really hope it was the same one, as I live about two miles from the place I saw the thing. We all figured it escaped from a pig farm. Then I found five dollars, so there was a point to the story.

Also, my only other friend runs a pig farm and he adds hickory and misquit (Mikeet?) and honey to the mud to enhance the flavor of his bacon. He also keeps the pigs in an aviary, for obvious reasons.

/dead thread, so who really cares what I say?

Sheriff of Rottingham (after Robin has dropped a dead pig on the banquet table): That's a wild boar!

Robin Hood: No, that's a wild pig.
[He points at Prince John.]

Robin Hood: THAT'S a wild bore.
