You know things are messed up if the Norwegians got emotional.

2003-01-04 11:33:05 AM
well the norwegians are far more animated than the fins those guys are really dull.
Finland must be really exciting! Whenever a finnish sportsman is interviewed on t.v all the answers are given in a single word.

First paper airplanes, then thermo nuclear bombs. If I've seen it once, I've seen it a thousand times. I'm just glad someone had the balls to step up to the plate and stop the insanity before it started.

We surrender! Please cease your endless barrage of airborne paper products! We can't take that kind of abuse!

The frightening thing is that instructions to construct these weapons is available on the internet.

Considering the very real attacks that have taken place against US embassies, I think the US should intercede on their behalf to show appreciation of their lighthearted restraint.

2003-01-04 12:35:42 PM
What a bunch of ass clowns. Maybe if they had a bunch of sand monkeys hijack their planes and kill their people maybe they would have a better attitude. I hope Allah sodomizes their mothers!

2003-01-04 12:47:02 PM
Maybe the Norwegians can hire Henry Kissinger to get to the bottom of who REALLU threw the airplanes at the embassy. I hear he's free.

2003-01-04 12:53:06 PM
if they did that to the french embassy, the french would surrender

First Iraq, then North Korea, now Norway.
The proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction MUST BE STOPPED!
I vote to add Norway to the Axis of Evil.

By thew way dumbass, the iraqis weren't involved in 9/11. They are too bust trying to feed themselves after 11 years of USA sanctions. Now you want t osteal their OIL to revive the crappy economy that is degenrated due to corporate corruption that is encouraged by prez Bush.

Embassies fly into airplanes

2003-01-04 01:05:33 PM
Prosecutor Harald Sletner said he thinks the paper planes themselves won't play as big a role as the fact that the defendants defied police orders. "That's what's most important here," he told newspaper Aftenposten Aften.

Oh my god. I would LOVE to be charged with something like that. You get to argue whether the police even have the RIGHT to give you orders like that. What's the charge? Not obeying the police?

That would be fan-farking-tastic.

Your careful, thoughtful and precise analysis of the situation has persuaded me to rethink my position. Not.

Joak, can you explain to me then with Iraq in such a dire economic situation do to the mean old U.S's sanctions, how Saddam still manages to build himself palace after palace, instead of using the money to feed his people? Oh wait, the idea of self responsibility goes against the very mindset of your average liberal bedwetter.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THEY HAVE!!!!! PAPER AIRPLANES!!!!!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA.

Oh, shut up!!! Lighthearted restraint? behalf? APPRECIATION? They're throwing PAPER airplanes. WHAT POSSIBLE DAMAGE COULD THEY DO???????

officer: "sir, we're under attack!"
general: "What!!?!?!? What are they using?"
officer: "they've got....they've got....I CAN'T SAY IT"
general: [slaps officer upside the head] "SPIT IT OUT YOUNG MAN"
officer: "THEY'VE GOT.....PAPER AIRPLANES!!!!"[runs away crying]
general: "good god! what has this world come to?"

...OH MY GOD, you're kidding, right? RIGHT?!
please tell me you're kidding and you don't believe that. where to start? first of all, if the benevolent saddam would give up one, ONE of his fabulous palaces he could probably feed the country for two years, second, i'm pretty sure we pay well for that oil. there's no *stealing* going on there. third, BUSH'S corporate corruption?? i sure as hell didn't vote for the guy, but i stand for truth. and that's not it.

Punish them with paper cuts on their tongues. Let's see how innocent they think paper is then!

2003-01-04 03:44:53 PM
let's find out where joak is from, and bomb the hell out of his house.

is this guy gonna get charged for loittering the embassy with paper?

Run away! Run Away!

We need a regime change in Oslo. We've tolerated that despotic monarchy too long. Did you know Norway has no separation of Church og State? They use their hard-earned codfishing kroner to build giant mosques, or "churches" as they like to call them in their quaint Viking tongue, in worship of something called Evangelical Lutheranism. Sounds pretty damned fanatical to me.

However, I don't think we should bomb Norway immediately.

We should begin with sanctions, including an embargo on salmon. We'll get those fish-eating bastards where they live.

Also, we need to prevent them from importing paper products, to assure that this never happens again, and we need them to file a 1500 page document proving that they have disposed of all their paper products.

President Bush has acquired the cooperation of Russia and Sweden to use bases and air space, and is quietly building up an invasion force, just in case the U.N, inspectors find residual products that could be made into paper airplanes.

Liberals in America protest that "it's all about the herring", but President Bush stands steadfastly to defend all Americans against future paper cuts, and insists that the Norwegians can avoid war if they will turn against "Olav or Harald or Lars or Hagar or whatever the farkin' king's name is", and institute a democracy.

2003-01-04 04:00:47 PM
Great, now Bush will send troops there too to slaughter
them all, how sad :(

Wait Bush! There is no oil there! Stop!

As an aside, as a conservative american I think the paper airplane gag was hilarious, and I do respect the convictions of the protesters. I do believe that they are stupid, and have no clue how the world really works (Yeah sure, after 911 we were just supposed to leave the Taliban alone?) but I think if they are charged with anything at most it would be for trespassing or disorderly conduct if they were in fact interfering with the embassy. If no damage was done, I'd like to think our embassy guys would just laugh it off and let this drop.

On the other hand, why don't the peace protesters go to afghanistan and protest the Taliban or the violence commited on behalf of Islamofascism, or the women's rights violations? Oh yes, that's right, because Islamofascists do not tolerate discent, and wouldn't allow the protests. I could go on over the video of the Taliban Viceroy beating a woman with a steal pipe for showing a little ankle, or the videos of the decapitations in the soccer fields, but of course these peace protesting cowards would rather protest against the U.S. Yes, we are so evil, we blow up brown people, yet they brown people blew up other brown people, white americans, and others at the WTC. Get a clue, asshats.

There was a post several days ago quoting that Saddam had issued a 3 month supply of food to everyone in Iraq. Of course this was an Iraqui press release, Believe what you want - starving babies, or all the halavah you can eat.

Etienne:

Norway does indeed have plenty of oil, and we want it. What do they need it for anyway. They row their ships.

Tomasso:

I don't see how you could have known of our secret invasion plan, but if you did, you should not have made it public. You aren't supposed to know that it's February 21st at 8:00 AM Oslo time.

D'oh

Somehow, I don't think 9/11 would still have the same ominous toll to it, if the towers had been hit by paper airplanes instead of actual airplanes.

(waits for photoshopped image of theoretical hypothesis to materialize)

FalconWolfKnight said: As an aside, as a conservative american I think the paper airplane gag was hilarious, and I do respect the convictions of the protesters. I do believe that they are stupid, and have no clue how the world really works </i?

So you DO respect the protestors, but you also think they're stupid. You also believe they have no clue how the world really works.

If that's conservative American respect, I'll take Norwegian peaceniks every time.

Also, why do Americans all of a sudden 'know how the world works', and anynone who disagrees with them does not? If you knew how the world worked, how come you never saw the attacks coming?

2003-01-04 04:24:58 PM
Damn. Didn't close my tags. Now my arguments will have no weight, as I am an obvious fool.

2003-01-04 04:48:32 PM
Calling them arguments is being kind.

2003-01-04 05:09:31 PM
Maybe we got worried because they were really really big paper airplanes. With toothpicks taped to them.

::So you DO respect the protestors, but you also think they're stupid. You also believe they have no clue how the world really works.::

I'll respect anyone that will get off their butt and protest, but what I consider stupid is their logic (Oh, even though the Taliban controls afghanistan and they have to go, it's wrong of you to bomb them to prevent them from further attacks. Had they been protesting the war in Iraq, my opinion would be somewhat differnt).

::Also, why do Americans all of a sudden 'know how the world works'::

We know through past experience, that alot of times war or eliminating a problem is the only solution, violence sucks, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Europe did a wonderful job of teaching us this with their two world wars, and leaving us to clean up post european coloniolism. Europeans on average don't understand that when an intruder breaks in to your home to rape your daughter, you can't solve the problem with peace or negotiation.

::, and anynone who disagrees with them does not? If you knew how the world worked, how come you never saw the attacks coming?::

Our various intelligence branches did see the attacks coming, but did not communicate any information to eachother, it was a massive intelligence failure. The 9/11 attacks are comparable to the sinking of the Titanic, there were constant mistakes made, human error after human error, which combined allowed an easily preventable tragedy to occur.

Being a norwegian I just want to state that it sucks to be the whole US's biatch!

2003-01-04 05:50:36 PM
Loding, as an American I'd like to say that the majority of the U.S. populace would rather not have you or any country as our biatch. We'd rather be isolationist as far as our military is concerned and just trade. Course we'd also like our taxes cut and there be no foriegn aid but rather have our money spent on our own country. Alot of us, even conservatives, do not like being involved in every political conspiracy around the globe.

Daily I growl and shake my fist at Al Gore . Until he invented the internet I was blissfully unaware of the number of namby-pambys all around me.
It's just further evidence of the fagging-up and pussification of today's youth.

2003-01-04 06:54:57 PM
Lodin, we really need you to keep us posted on the paper airplane build-up that we keep reading about. Would you be willing to betray your country and spy for us. We could be VERY generous with the lutefisk, sursild, and reinsdyrkaker, if you know what I mean.

2003-01-04 09:23:04 PM
I didn't know the Norweigans had an air force.

On a totally unrelated note. The Colts got spanked, the Packers are getting smoked, I wonder if tossing paper airplanes will scare my bookie away.

2003-01-04 09:27:37 PM
After they gain air superiority with their precision guided paper airforce, they will release a barrage of spitball artillary.

The US will be no match for their oragami military machine.

2003-01-05 02:07:46 PM
it's a good thing the Norwegian Rubberband Brigade was on maneuvers in the south pacific and not providing ground support for the airplanes, or there'd be no survivors to tell the ghastly tale
