Police had originally said that the officer had on a bullet-resistant vest and was not wearing a hood.

"Follow-up investigation reveals that the injured officer was wearing a concealment hood and had her gun drawn at the time she entered the store," the released said.

So, basically, the pigs lied to make it seem like they were fully indentifiable and the guy meant to shoot a cop. And people wonder why I hate cops.

That ol' police gal is a bit below the minimum daily requirement of brain cells, even by the lackluster Texas requirements.

Yeah, Candypants, I saw that. Did they think they were going to get away with that lie? Anyway, it doesn't have anything to do with cops. Polce are government officials.
How do you know if a government employee is lying? Their lips are moving.

This rule applies to all Democrats, Republicans, and independents in all branches of public service.

Just once, wouldn't you like to hear an official government spokesperson say, "Whoa, we screwed that up, but c'mon, give us a break. We're doing what we can with what we have. Sure that farkin' cop is dumber than a lobotomized chicken, but do you think Dr Steven Hawking is going to apply for these jobs?"

Hmmm...undercover cop enters convenience store weapon drawn with a ski mask on to bust a crack dealer and gets shot by the owner. This is a classic drug-war casualty. Sticky situation this police-wearing-ski-masks thing. Sure, they need to stay undercover and all to, you know, fight that drug-war. But if you enter a convenience store with a ski mask and a gun drawn I would contend that the psychology of this situation is that the officer could have been wearing a full uniform with a neon bright "POLICE" badge and all the armed clerk would see would be ski-mask and gun and act accordingly. Perhaps the police should re-evaluate their storm-trooper tactics.

Drug-war is bad mmmm'kay.

How long before they try and nail the clerk for being a terrorist?

*puts on asbestos undies*

2003-01-03 08:47:49 PM
You enter anything I own with a gun drawn, and I'll shoot your ass too. Or your armpit.

2003-01-03 08:47:49 PM
left armpit eh. I'ld have probably missed and hit the car outside.

"Police had originally said that the officer had on a bullet-resistant vest and was not wearing a hood.

'Follow-up investigation reveals that the injured officer was wearing a concealment hood and had her gun drawn at the time she entered the store,' the released said.
"

The officer was originally pronounced dead at the scene. She was taken to a hospital where her condition was later upgraded to "alive"

Although i like Weaps South Park ref., I must say that dispite the questionable tactics (or tictacs), there is a fare amount of biatchin from a bunch I'll wager never ever been shot at.

I always aim for the armpit.

How humorous, a newspaper from the fattest city reporting on something stupid that happened in one of the most rednecked cities. . .

God bless Texas

*****

Thank god I live in Dallas.

2003-01-03 08:50:51 PM
This just proves that there is no I.Q. requirement to be a cop.

Next story please.

2003-01-03 08:52:01 PM
Please. Houston is probably one of the least evils in Texas, as far as rednecks are concerned. I don't hear nearly as many people say "ya'll" around here as I hear people speaking Chinese or some other weird moon language.

Now Dallas, on the other hand... /shiver

But don't get me wrong. I loathe all Texas, equally.

Undercover cop - buys dope
uniform cop - makes arrest

crap like that does not happen

It's not rocket science.

2003-01-03 08:55:20 PM
Covergirl - did you miss the byline? That happened in Ft. Worth. Good thing Arlington is there to protect you, huh? ;-)

This just proves that there is no I.Q. requirement to be a cop.

of course not, that would be "culturally (read: ethnically) biased).

2003-01-03 08:57:25 PM
Regardless of who made the mistake...doesn't the crime of attempted murder, i.e the owner's son shooting at the cop, get laid at the doorstep of the guy who bought/sold the drugs? Because it happened during/rightafter the commission of a crime?

2003-01-03 08:57:55 PM
Re-read what I wrote carefully, I'm calling Ft. Worth the redneck city. . .

Usually, I prefer to sell crack to uniformed police officers. You can never tell if someone in plain clothes is just an undercover cop or some asshat out to rob you.

2003-01-03 08:58:45 PM
This is Darwinism at its best.

2003-01-03 08:59:39 PM
Gee, all that fuss over a little $20 crack rock. You'd think they had bigger dealer to go for.

2003-01-03 09:00:26 PM
NC140 Uh, for the record no, I have never been shot at. Had questionable types shoot up in the air nearby in reaction to my presence, yes, but no bullets whizzing by. However I will state that I do not care much for law enforcement wearing hoods. I understand the need to maintain undercover status from an officer safety point of view, but I think agencies can figure out how to enforce the law without resorting to what looks to the average citizen to be extreme measures what with the hoods and all.

2003-01-03 09:00:32 PM
It's illegal in many states to enter a store with any kind of mask on. I live in NY, which last I heard, was the front line in the war on drugs. To walk into a store with a ski mask on around here would be considered a suicide attempt. Why do they have to REMAIN disguised? Do they only have that one undercover narc that doesn't want to get used up? Or is it that cowards get braver when they're anonymous?

2003-01-03 09:02:01 PM
I hope the clerk isn't Middle Eastern-otherwise they probably will try to say he's a terrorist.

All we need is one more sorry excuse for Dubya to wage war.

2003-01-03 09:02:02 PM
Cops should look like cops for their own safety: eight-pointed hat or campaign hat and shiny badges.

2003-01-03 09:02:10 PM
All that for a 20-dollar rock of crack. I'm now positive that the drug laws are paying off.

2003-01-03 09:02:37 PM

Her CO deserves wahtever's coming to them. Stupid move.

War on Drugs. Feh...

2003-01-03 09:05:45 PM
BrassArt: It'd be hard to stick that on him, because what he did didn't cause the second crime to be committed. It was what the officers did that caused it.

2003-01-03 09:06:28 PM
BrassArt, I was thinking the same thing. The dealer is likely to have an Attempted Capital Murder charge dumped on top of everything.

He's farked any way you slice it.

If the cop have died, what a rep for the store clerk.
He'd be the cop-killer that got away with it.

Wonder if the cop was cute, tho'.

So, I guess the cops changed their story when the video surveillance tape from the convenience store clearly showed a hooded intruder brandishing a firearm. Things like this will continue to happen as long as drug use remains a crime. But every law enforcer out there knows that without the war on drugs, there's no overtime pay, no reason to intimidate law abiding citizens, and most of all, it's just no damn fun.

King of Pop-Tarts more suitable.

speaking of which, i really want a pic of the pop tart "beeeeooww!" guy to mess around with in photoshop

cut the cops a break, they put up with so much schizz, if they make a mistake everyyone gets all mad.

Heeheehahahahahahaha!!!

2003-01-03 09:20:35 PM
Gee, ya think all the deaths thay say are blamed on the drug problem are really caused because the shiat's illegal?

Wouldn't it make sense - if it were legal, legitimate commerce would control the means of distribution, subject to laws, instead of the current situation where the one with the quickest draw gets the territory?

Doesn't the war on drugs cause far more grief than if drugs were totally legal?

2003-01-03 09:20:41 PM
Priceless!

YEAH!...Zactly!...you enter my place with a hood and a drawn gun...you are definitely gonna meet my buddy...HK 40...

stupid cop!!...even the florists in Texas have concealed weapons...they SHOULD have had uniformed beat cops make the arrest...this needs a "Dumbass" tag

What? You think they are going to be able to slap a murder charge on the suspect because he went into a convenience store for some twinkies? Get real! Any lawyer could shoot that down in his sleep!

2003-01-03 09:27:32 PM
So, I guess the cops changed their story when the video surveillance tape from the convenience store clearly showed a hooded intruder brandishing a firearm.

Probably. That's just farking amazing, the fact that the police covered their asses so blatantly and were proven severely wrong. The store owner should send them a bill for the spent ammo.

2003-01-03 09:28:23 PM
Police had originally said that the officer had on a bullet-resistant vest and was not wearing a hood.

"Follow-up investigation reveals that the injured officer was wearing a concealment hood and had her gun drawn at the time she entered the store," the released said.

The officer was not wearing a bullet resistant vest, and was wounded under the left armpit.

"The psycho clerk overreacted... okhedidn'twewerewrong." Uh-huh. Folks, remember this next time a police spokesperson says "we had to gas those demonstrators, they were preparing to riot." I remember so many people here back in August, in the wake of the Portland Bush protest-gassing, saying that someone must have done something to cause the pepper-spray attacks. Cops are people too, and thus some have a tendency to lie in the course of justifying their actions.

James E. Crenshaw, 27, was arrested and has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance for selling a $20 rock of crack cocaine to the undercover officers.

Another glorious victory in the War on Some Drugs. Cripes, how many people have to be maimed, killed, and ruined before this insanity ends?

It's illegal in many states to enter a store with any kind of mask on.

Reminds me of a sign I saw on the bank doors a week before Halloween that I found funny. It read something like this:

Please keep the fun of Halloween safe: do not wear any masks into the bank.

Makes you wonder what dumb-ass did that before to make them put the sign up.

2003-01-03 09:29:37 PM
TommyymmoT, I highly doubt that covering one's face increases testicular fortitude, like your new identity tho'. Maybe if we got rid of cops for Japanese biker gangs. Everyone thinks this is a cop thing, I would like to point out this was a female cop. And GaryPDX ditch the H&K for a Sig 357, trust Me there is a reason the usss carries 'em.

2003-01-03 09:31:19 PM
Why didn't they just arrest the guy when he sold them the crack in the first place instead of following him to the store?
