Yeah, I love how it's always left off the "highest grossing" lists. Those Hollywooders are self-righteous hypocritical liberal asshats.

2003-01-01 12:48:15 PM
Right on GEAH. Deep Throat is a classic and should be heralded as a great work of erotica by all. Well, not all...it shouldn't exactly be playing on the Disney channel

2003-01-01 01:37:02 PM
In other news, Deep Throating may be the highest grossing profession of all time.

2003-01-01 01:38:14 PM
Wouldn't that be the deepest grossing movie in the history of film?

2003-01-01 01:38:59 PM
"Rockets red glare?" "Bombs bursting in air."

/Classic

Good thing her first movie, "Dog Farker", didn't get quite the publicity.

2003-01-01 01:48:27 PM
Yet it's not available on Kazaa. Outrageous!

2003-01-01 01:50:55 PM
Hmmmm. Never saw it.

Seen ALOT of other porn though. Thinking about going to the AVN Awards in Vegas next year.

2003-01-01 01:55:09 PM
Never seen it either... what's up with this?

What a horrible movie. Naked people and sex were not enough to make me like it. There has got to be a better choice as the classic of the porn genre.

2003-01-01 01:58:51 PM
Or if you prefer, The ASCII version.

2003-01-01 01:59:32 PM
According to Movieweb.com, the highest-grossing movie of all time is "Titanic" at $601 million. So I guess "Deep Throat" does indeed surpass it.

Ironically, both movies included actors who suck.

i seen it. some fool drinks coke out of a girls cooch heh. and she shaves her beaver with a straight razor! yikes!

I knew my porn would top real movies some time.

I have heard that Linda Lovelace was forced at gunpoint to perform in some or all of those scenes.

Anyone know if this is true, or Urban Legend?

2003-01-01 02:15:10 PM
Wil, if she was she must not hold grudges, it's also said she was recently out promoting the release of the DVD.

2003-01-01 02:16:18 PM
Maybe if you read the article, wil, you'd know. Just because you're some kind of nerd god here does not mean you're can just go hibbity dippity between threads, jacking it as you please.

2003-01-01 02:17:47 PM
Heh. That was rough.

2003-01-01 02:19:47 PM
Just a little quick Googling, but yeah Wil, I also heard that she was forced at gunpoint. Also, it seems that she died last april.

I'm glad I've never heard the phrase "just a little quick Yahooing". Yahoo sucks.

I spend too much time mucking about computers.
This is the first thing I thought of.

Gee, Tarith, sure hope you feel better now that you got that out of your system.

She died in April 2002 in a car accident. But if she was so victimized, why do two sequels?

2003-01-01 02:28:29 PM
Annie Savoy,

The two sequals did not contain actual sex acts.... They were like Scinemax movies (Shannon Tweed stuff) if I remember correctly.

2003-01-01 02:30:51 PM
OK, seriously, WTH is with her first film listed on IMDB ?? Yikes!!

2003-01-01 02:31:11 PM
Bark_atda_moon: Ah, softcore. Out of sheer curiosity I'd like to see the original. Mostly because I haven't really seen a hardcore porno.

2003-01-01 02:34:48 PM
I have the incomplete doctors office scene I d/led from Kazaa a long time ago, but I have never seen the full thing there. Most of anything you find when searching for lovelace is that scene.

2003-01-01 02:36:41 PM
I may try to pull something off of Soulseek tonight. Can't now, am "working".

Back to the Simpsons!

The ASCII version is entrancing. I've never seen such a thing. Is there a whole hidden subculture of ASCII films out there that I've just never been privy too? An ASCII version of The Matrix would be wicked boss.

2003-01-01 03:01:14 PM
Yeah, I heard that she was pretty much coerced into performing, too. I think that's priobably enough to make me not want to watch the movie, I mean why take the chance of spanking it to a filmed rape when there's so much other pr0n out there?

2003-01-01 03:01:40 PM
I have a 2 min clip fo her first "movie" and it IS her
Kazaa had it when I got it
As far as her being forced at Gunpoint I take it in the same vain as "miss" lords who changed her ID, lied about her age and then said oops it wasn't MY fault

2003-01-01 03:04:07 PM
Hey,

If you look at the credits to Deep Throat II, you will see Andrea True the disco start!!

2003-01-01 03:08:28 PM
Ssrat, I don't know if the two situations are really that analogous. I'm just saying that if the gunpoint story is true it wouldn't surprise me, considering some of the things I've heard can happen. Ultimately it was just her word against theirs I suppose. We'll probably never know for sure.

2003-01-01 03:12:30 PM
Ok, I tried watching the ASCII version and it reminded me of trying to watch Skinamax when it is scrambled, or the PPV channels without actually paying the subscription fee.

Horrible.

2003-01-01 03:15:58 PM
Before I say what I'm about to, I'd like to let you know I'm a thoughtless biatch.

When she claimed (1980) that this was all done at gunpoint, that was a pretty popular time for women to cry wolf (or rape, as it were) and use it as a scapegoat for their less than desirable escapades - But neither would shock me (whether it did or did not happen).

Again, why promote the DVD and why allow compilation movies (Deep Throat II and III) if it was that horrible? Did the cries of rape surrender to the almighty dollar?

2003-01-01 03:16:44 PM
Ravage: What did you expect? DVD quality? It is ASCII.

2003-01-01 03:18:52 PM
If what they state in that article is accurate, then it seems she changed her story several times.
The whole controversy of whether or not she was forced didn't seem to hurt sales of the videos much either. Hmmm.

2003-01-01 03:27:07 PM
A pretty dumb movie but it was the first hardcore porn you could talk you girlfriend into seeing. Debbie Does Dallas was much better and also one you could take a girl to.

2003-01-01 03:33:58 PM
Take a lot of girls to porn movies do ya Travis Bickle?

2003-01-01 03:55:14 PM
not highest

Titanic is highest
if adjusted for inflation StarWars would be highest with a little over billion dollars if adjusted right

In the Undisclosed Screening Room, we alwways consider it to be at the head of the pack

2003-01-01 05:50:27 PM
OK, if you want box office figures, go to the best place: Box Office Mojo. To wit:

Domestic: Titanic -- $600,788,188
Never Hit #1 (Dom.): My Big Fat Greek Wedding -- $199,574,370
IMAX (Dom.?): Everest -- $77,417,861
Adj. for Inflation (Dom.): Gone With the Wind -- $1,153,674,489
Worldwide: Titanic -- $1,835,400,000

In an odd piece of trivia, next year, Gone With the Wind should drop off out of the Top 50 all time (Domestic, Non-Adjusted).

2003-01-01 07:59:49 PM
I may be new to Fark, but it is not all that new that idiots comment on stories that they dont take the time to read..

on that note... did you hear that some woman named Linda made some kind of dirty movie a long time ago? What do you farkers know about that, and could you post it in words of less than 3 syllables?

2003-01-01 08:46:37 PM
Deep Throat cracked me up.

'Mind if I smoke, while your eating?'

2003-01-02 11:24:06 AM
Linda lived in my town on Long Island during her anti-porn phase. She got the local video stores to discard their copies of "Deep Throat". That was years ago. And I still haven't seen the movie.

2003-01-02 11:42:42 AM
$600,000,000 for deep throat is Worldwide, and $600,000,000 for Titanic was domestic. Titanic did much more worldwide.

And if you adjust for inflation, the highest grossing ever was Gone With the Wind. Don't remeber where I found it, but there was a good list somewhere showing the top 100 adjusted for inflation.

Wonder where "Rocky Horror" falls...?
