Rain gives Johnson pole

If I were twelve, this would be the funniest farking thing ever.

As it is, however, it's only #4 or #5 on the list of funniest things.

This kind of sucks, as it would have been nice to see if Scott Speed could get into the race. Hope to see him do really well next year.

Really, GFTL?

You're the first pro-NASCAR guy I have heard that actually likes SS.

I have no problems w/ the guy. He can drive, he's done well in trucks for a team that's otherwise not very good. He got a raw deal in F1 (continually outperforming his awful teammate on an awful team, yet still got dropped), and it'd be good to see the guy do well and be given a fair shot.

Jimmie Johnson could only look at his car Thursday, spending most of the afternoon eating junk food in his team's hauler and watching it rain.

junk food does not rain, wish it did though.

Why couldn't they do qualifying today?

As for Scott Speed, I read somewhere that he'd seriously consider changing his name to 'Max Speed' if he thought it'd help with marketing.

If only they were able to work Dick Trickle into that headline somehow...

Rules is rules.

When a team enters a race, there's a set of guidelines as to how the race is going to be qualified and such. As opposed to race-time rule decisions, the pre-race stuff is pretty much followed line for line.

The team he drives for in the Truck Series is the best there is. Bill Davis Racing has had a championship contender (or two) every year since 2005. The 22 truck hasn't performed as well as the others but there's no question that the organization is the best in the series.

That can be arranged.
