The Colony of Slippermen
By Peter Gabriel (Genesis)
1974

I wandered lonely as a cloud,
Till I came upon this dirty street.
I've never seen a stranger crowd;
Slubberdegullions on squeaky feet,

Continually pacing,
With nonchalant embracing,
Each orifice disgracing
And one facing me moves to say "hellay".

His skin's all covered in slimy lumps.
With lips that slide across each chin.
His twisted limbs like rubber stamps
Are waved in welcome say 'Please join in.'

My grip must be flipping,
Cos his handshake keeps slipping,
My hopes keep on dipping
And his lips keep on smiling all the time.

Termagaunts?
No, I don't think they technically exist in the newest Tyranid Codex. They are now 'Gaunts with fleshborers' or 'Gaunts with Devourers'. I am interested to see how the Nids will fare under 5th edition, given that most of their Scoring Units (Troops) are designed to be expendable until the Hive Tyrant and Carnifexes get into the mix.

/sorry, what was the topic again?

Scrimshankers have no moral turpitude. It enervates society with dyspathy.

How scurrilious of thier inepitude.

Is this US version or is this British version of the English language?

Example:
"Don't be so blinkered, get your bullocks to the bobby or else, you'll end up bunging the mob. just a little chin-wag and bob's your uncle."

80% or so of those are not interesting if you know a little Latin and/or Greek. Oh well. One mystery:

scrimshander

SYLLABICATION: scrim·shand·er
PRONUNCIATION: skrmshndr
NOUN: One who carves scrimshaw.
ETYMOLOGY: Origin unknown.

what's the connection here?

A good chunk of the respondents were messing with the pollster - many of them thar words are straight out of Peter Bowler's "Superior Person's Book of Words" - a dictionary of uncommon and mostly archaic words to annoy people with.

Defenestrate has a special spot in my heart because when I was a senior in college, there were two reports within about a month of each other of freshmen jumping or falling out of windows -- one out of a frat balcony and one out of his own dorm (*cough*dumbass*cough). Nobody was injured but we all got to use defenestrate around campus.
