If You can prove that You tried to pay Your taxes and were illegally prevented, You can't be penalized for tax evasion.

In Soviet Portugal taxes pay YOU

2002-12-30 07:44:02 PM

overEAGER taxpayers..

Sounds like oxymoron...

Tastes like chicken....

Wish we had "tax men" that would go on strike.

If Strom Thrumond had.... Oh wait. It's Portugal. Nevermind.

How can you pay your taxes when the year isn't even over yet?
2002-12-30 07:53:06 PM
Why can't that happen here?

(yes, American)

Taxes and banks were only supposed to be temporary. Benjamin Franklin would shiat a gold brick if he saw this tax crap still going on.

/historical fact
2002-12-30 07:59:16 PM they're pissed because they weren't allowed to put something off until the last possible second? Oh, hold on...they already did that, now they want to get in on the amnesty at the last possible second. Like going a week early was gonna be a big difference? Fark em all. We'd bomb Portugal, but the only oil there is on the coastline.

/Bullet Train to hell, thanks.

If there was a tax on boobies I wouldn't wait for amnesty

You know your country sucks when even the tax collectors have a union.
2002-12-30 08:07:27 PM
Well, if they don't want the money...
2002-12-30 08:08:24 PM
Thulcandra...that's the NATIONAL bank. Not banks in general. Very, very big difference.

Not only that, even Franklin knew that some taxes would have to be permenant. It was only taxes intended to pay off the war debt that were meant to be ended, when that debt was paid off. And other wars just kept getting in the way.

You are definitely correct. I guess I should have read the rest of the chapter. :)

Although the idea of everyone having to stuff all their cash and valuables into their matresses across the country does have some appeal...

This would've been the perfect time to use the ironic tag.

2002-12-30 11:09:34 PM
Heh who needs to pay taxes anyway?

Yet another reason for a flat sales tax.

Did anyone else notice the links in the upper right-hand corner that say "Contact the ABC" and "Search the ABC"? I found those more amusing than the article. Engrish is everywhere.
