Maybe, but they'd most likely strike large cities like New York or Chicago, so no big loss.

Tacoby Bellisbury: "In before the defeatists..."

Following the success of the Apollo program, a new program entitled "poll applications" was initiated with the intent to take what was learned from he Apollo missions and apply it to continued manned spaceflight missions. This included the NERVA and ORION nuclear rocket programs, the inspiration for the ISLAND-1 through ISLAND 5 space station concepts and most notably a commitment to the point of a development timeline and budget for a manned mission to Mars by 1985.

Then Vietnam happened.

Now we are still engaged in a war started, like Vietnam, under false pretenses and as a result of the incredible cost, Project Constellation (The replacement for the shuttle and eventual launch platform for the ORION capsule, no relation to the nuclear rocket program) has been delayed by five years with further delays rumored.

It is the fault of tribalistic jingoists like you that we weren't on Mars by 1985, and we most likely won't complete the lunar outpost on schedule if at all. The satisfaction of having others kill on your behalf (makes you feel big, doesn't it?) the way you regard war as a game, something to be won or lost rather than a defensive measure of last resort, is quite literally destroying the future of our species.

Yes, since destroying every terrorist in the world would probably require nuking the borders of several countries that already have nukes and the capability to launch them into the US. But the good news is that Bush and his cronies would be able to survive in their underground bunkers for a few decades.

With Pakistan stepping up, the Taliban is running out of places to hide.

Hopefully this is the start of the end of the Taliban. One problem in Vietnam was the NV always had a place to go and hide that was essentially off-limits to US forces. The Taliban had that luxury as well, until recently.

If we can keep Iran at bay for a while and assuming the pressure in Pakistan continues, we should have some good news in Afghanistan by Q1/Q2 of next year.

Domestic fundies have tried to ban sex toy sells in Alabama, Texas, and several other states. We could do a few smaller text dildo bombings along the Pakistan border to see if they respond to it before we commit ourselves to a full on cock bombing.

First: how many shipping containers are delivered into the US every day?

And as followup:

Islam online (new window)

Why are we losing The War Against Terror (TWATTM)?

Because we are doing it wrong. Condemning Islam is the wrong way to do it.

Anyone who wants to wins this war (against Al Qaeda, not the Democrats) needs to focus on the fact that terrorism is un-Islamic - which it undoubtably is.

Point out how many Muslims the terrorists kill.

Point out how many Islamic clerics condemn terrorism.

Point out what a bunch of un-Islamic nonsense Al Qaeda and the Taliban are preaching.

And how exactly would that shipping container have the 14 feet or whatever it takes of solid lead to shield that bomb against radiation sensors?

Honestly, I'd be surprised if anyone could get a bomb within 100 miles of US coastline without tripping some kind of sensor. Radiation sensors are cheap, I'm sure our government has made the investment. Hell many local police departments have radiation sensors in squad cars; people even get pulled over after being given radioisotopes for X-rays.

Encasing a bomb in enough material to drop levels low enough to not be detected would also make it so heavy that it would be extremely hard to transport.

i think people get anrgy when they get bombed, even if they had it coming. i am not sure why that is hard to understand.

i mean, even if you were someone who believed everything your leaders told you becuase they used religion and fear to trick you into thinking the only way to get rid of your enemies is to blow them up, you would still be angry when your buildings were destroyed.

Iran has nothing to do with Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda is Sunni, and sees Iran (Shi'ite) as much of their enemy as we are. Iran hates Al Qaeda as much as we do. In fact, Iran arrested Bin Laden's son and Al Qaeda's main military chief (Saif Al Adel). Iran almost went to war with the Taliban, back in the late 90s, when the Taliban executed Iranian diplomats because they were apostates (Shi'ite).

Now shi'ite militant groups they back (such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and some of the groups in Iraq), but not Al Qaeda.

-------

Yakk: So now it was the Taliban that attacked us?

Holy freaking facepalm.

They are guilty by proxy, imo, as they willingly allowed Al Qaeda to operate within their borders and provided them with sanctuary, and would not hand them over after the attacks. So they didn't directly attack us, but they certainly are just as responsible.

well, not really. terrorism is an idea; and as long as we are there stirring up the hive, we will create new terrorists from the disaffected of the populace.

furthermore, the only way to rid ourselves of middle-eastern terrorism is basically to nuke/kill everyone in the region.

I and O are real close on my keyboard.

The Semitic root drs means "teach". In Arabic there is a prefix m' or mu that nominalizes a word.

That is why Islam is connected to Mulsim and Hebrew Baruch is connected to Mubarak (the prez of Egypt).
