So now the channel attracts smart working bisexual women? Sounds like my kind of demographic....

I have to admit that I have never seen anything on the Oxygen network and can't comment on this show, but I have seen enough on the Lifetime network to know how these "networks for women" actually portray women. Generally, movies on Lifetime are about women being stalked, abused, battered, murdered, etc. These networks don't empower women; they portray women as victims.

I hate Lifetime. Oh and "Murder, She Wrote."

Good point, I never thought of it that way. But they do at least portray women overcoming victimization.

Zoo Productions, the company behind ''Girls Behaving Badly,'' cut its teeth filming scantily clad college students on spring break for MTV.

Ah. Them.

Glad O2 is working with such talented and professional individuals.

Perhaps they are running out of oxygen.

I never did understand that. Or soap operas, for that matter.

Whassamatter, lady, you don't have ENOUGH problems in your life that you have to have fictional characters to sob over?

(I'm a guy. I watch James Bond and Arnold Schwarzennegger. I watch action movies because I know that I'll never do that sort of high-flying dramatic hero action in real life. I don't need fictional deaths of cancer, broken relationships, abusive spouses, etc...there's enough of that in the real world! And it hurts! Women! What's wrong with you?)

This is what's next for the network:

Smart women who breathe other women. Sounds like advertising to me. And a perfect publicity for men to ambush its culture.

The Sunday night Sex Show comes on Oxygen at 11pm EST tonight. Best advice show ever.

2002-12-29 03:58:33 PM
oxygen at least has some movies that don't potray women as victims. while i do watch an occasional movie on lifetime, when theres nothing else on, i like action and other movies. matter of fact i can't wait for x-men 2 to come out.

I used to listen to the Sunday Night Sex Show on Q107. Then I saw the cable show and I was shocked - Sue looked nothing like I expected.

Sex sells. Not that big a news flash.

After all, where can one find any trashier TV than on FOX, bastion of family-values and "conservative" news?

Broadcasters will put up whatever drags the eyeballs.

Heh-heh... "broad" casters...

It makes sense to me. Women letting loose and doing thing we "traditionally" aren't supossed to do....thats something smart working women might like to see. Unlike the made for tv victim movies of lifetime. And hey they have the sunday night sex show...definetly female empowering :) not to mention full of good advice.

2002-12-29 04:38:27 PM
Mmmmmmmmmm, Cheryl Tiegs... bondage...
I'm gonna be really tired in about five minutes.

They aren't portraying all women as victims. Their goal is portraying all men as evil. Lifetime is run by the unrelenting homosexual cabal.

2002-12-29 04:50:52 PM
BigFatty,

Actually LifeTime is doing both. Playing the gender card as women are the victim class, and men as the villain class. But since LifeTime and Oxygen have no viewers with an I.Q. over 90, nothing they broadcast really matters.

2002-12-29 04:52:08 PM
Oh! Teabag!

You got that right!

i watch the oxygen network all the time, i started watching it because they used to show "chasing amy" everyday, then they started showing "girls behaving badly" which is one of the funniest hidden camera shows ive ever seen.
and i think its called oxygen because its owned by oprah. which still doesnt explain the name.

The only show worth watching on any of those crappy women networks.

Just think of all the knee jerk public outcry by all the PC fascists if there ever was a network touted as "Television for Men".

The Man Show doesn't count so don't even try that.

I think it's supossed to be X Y Gen or something like that. At least from the old commercials.

But since LifeTime and Oxygen have no viewers with an I.Q. over 90, nothing they broadcast really matters.

No see then it matters even more because those are the type people that will gang up work together and manage to do something.
