A mean cook? Are you saying you enjoy throwing live lobsters into the pot?

Well... I like to put them in the cold water and watch it come to a boil more often then not. Just love those lobster screams.

Seriously - and the sandwich should be assembled in the following order:

-bread
-cheese
-ham
-cooked onions, diced
-bacon, nice and crispy
-cheese
-bread

Toast it on both sides until the cheese is nice and melted through. This likely involves butter, not margarine.

If you're a bit "light in the loafers", you can add a tomato or something like that. But really, there should be meat, cheese, more meat, and cheese.

I always love that picture, mostly because I wouldn't hit that girl anyway and I'm guessing no one else does either.

Like the fists of a dozen angry gods, I would.

Me too, look at her belly, she looks to be in good shape.

I hate to be all studman69 on you guys, but she is way below my standards. Flat and plain-looking.

Her face is rather plain. But if she has a tight body it is all good, at least for some fun. I am a sucker for a nice belly, usually means a nice beaver as well.

Less fat means more room to eat. Women that take care of their bodies tend to take better care of their vajayjays.

Polyhazard: Your personal opinion about "safety nets" is irrelevant to whether or not women have always had equal rights under the law. They did not.

I didn't say they did. For a long time, neither did men in most governments.

I said they were free to do as they damn well pleased.

As were the men who said "screw you" to the systems that held inequity against their fellow men.

Think about that.

While I don't want to or plan on staying home as a housewife for my whole life, my boyfriend and I have already agreed that I'll stay home for the first 5 or so years of our future children's lives.

Our reasoning is that so much of the additional income that I would make would go to daycare that it wouldn't be terribly worth it. In addition, I can't see paying someone else to spend those few, precious years raising my young children. I'd rather work longer after they're in school and retire later. My kids will only be little once, and they'll be adults with their own lives for much longer.

I'm thinking about it- and I guess what you are saying that everyone is always free, even if they are oppressed by their government, because they have can say "fark the government" and try to do what they want anyway?

That's an interesting way of looking at it, I guess. But it means the word "freedom" is pretty useless if it defines everything. I guess the women living under the Taliban were "free" too, in your very broad definition. So then why even bother- if everyone is free, the word means nothing.

If you really aren't disagreeing with me that women were systematically discriminated against, then we're about at the "The sky is blue," vs "No, the grass is obviously green" stage of argument.

Seriously, there are 3+ Billion womenfolk on the planet.

If a big hairy dude like me can find a cute one, who likes cleaning and cooking, almost anyone can.

Just hammer out the details early on.

I do taxes/bills, yardwork and any repairs/installations

she cleans, cooks and sexes me.

To be fair we both cook. She just seems to do more of it.

Why is that such a bad thing these days?

It is, and always has been, a matter of personal choice between the people involved. Thee rest is just marketing and the people who buy it aren't the ones who profit from it.

T
here is a difference between saying "I would like that" and "that is the right way for everyone to live."

The first one I don't think is a "bad thing," but it wouldn't work for me, so the second viewpoint I definitely have a problem with.

Brammimonde: hogans: I'm inclined to agree - depending upon the woman, of course.

The gold-digging, "high maintenance" women that have become so popular in the last decade or so could use a little humility and reality in their lives. Let's face it, they should qualify as human before they should be allowed on the streets.

As a woman, I've noticed that if a woman cultivates some sort of useful traditional skill (cooking, baking, sewing, basket weaving-- even a zeal for cleaning after a few jello shots) she'll also be a pretty nice gal.

It doesn't matter if she's good at it.

Women who think traditional skills are beneath them? Terrifying. The most self-centered, quick to anger, screeching harpies you'll ever meet. And they're in the majority.

Thats pretty much become my view over the last few years. I find it rather ironic that I'm considered a new age good guy for not being afraid to cook and do laundry (who else is gonna do it since I'm single?) but its also damn expected that I do "my share" of the household duties. However, if I dare expect them to have cultivated some of those skills/do those chores/show love for your spouse/lover, I'm oppressing them as women. In the end, what good are they for other than an occasional roll in the hay? Certainly not as a life partner and mother to my kids.

Read on some relationship advice board awhile back a question by a gal wanting to know what she could get for her new boyfriend's birthday. She didn't have much money etc, or know him well. So apart from the "show up nekkid under a coat with a 6pack and a pizza" idea, it was the traditional "back him a cake and don't just buy him one!". Her response was, "I don't know how!". As if its hard to figure out the basics of betty crocker's cake mixes. It was totally foreign to her, and god forbid she take a chance to learn something new...

I think this is something I see in my generation across gender lines. A lot of people I know in their mid to late 20s are still totally clueless about things like what how to cook actual food, do laundry, what to do when the garbage disposal stops- I guess those were skills parents once passed down along gender lines.

Lucky for me, my parents taught me how to change my own damn tire and bake my own damn cake. Why limit your kid's skill-set to the traditional ones?
