Heh. I like how the cop gets out of the car and immediately lights up.

Instead of guns, British cops subdue suspects with the threat of second-hand smoke.

according to the video the first CCTV watched British town was in 1985. So that is a pretty big fail on their part to call it the 10th anniversary. Seen this guy before a few years ago all over the internet. I'm guessing the cops know who he is by now.

I for one am glad to see the authorities are prepared to respond quickly when presented with an alien threat.

Is this new video of him doing this or the same old video? I remember him doing the same thing years ago. I wonder how cops in the US would respond. heh

Interesting...I didn't realize they used "foot" as a measurement in the UK. How many cm are there in a metric foot?

seriously.

Not much of a payoff. "Hey look, we created an unusual looking scene and made some curious cops show up. Yay! Success!"

They use Imperial units as well as metric in the UK.

/30.48cm in an Imperial foot (12")

The first this was done was superior. The alien suit used then was very real looking. And you could tell the police were a little bit afraid it might be the real deal. This time, the police just walk right up, most likely because they saw the vid of the first one.

I just came out of my bunker... it's been 10 years. Are they gone yet?!!?

How exactly does one determine if it looks like a "real alien"? I don't have a frame of reference for what real aliens look like.

Remember the days when cops used to walk the beat, instead of hiding somewhere and beating it.

Spray you with mace, tazer you, then shoot your dog.

This does sort of kill the argument that the cameras are just there to collect footage and used only when someone is arrested to prove the suspect was there at the time.

Do lots of Americans not realise that Imperial is still widely used in Britain, and indeed where it gets its name?

What is this... Britain? Is that past Philadelphia or somethin'?

I used to love the idea of living in Britain(I have dual-citizenship). Now I seriously question ever setting foot in Oceania...err Great Britain.

If I did, I would have to give a sample of DNA, have my fingerprints and photo taken, and then be followed around by cameras virtually everywhere I went.

How can you Brit farkers stand it?

no. but they also don't get that countries that use metric use it for more precise mesurements because it is easier saying "that bloke was about about six feet" instead of saying "that bloke was 182 cm tall."

A lot of Americans think everyone in Europe drives on the left.

I'm curious. What's the impetus behind having all of these camera in London? It's odd.

The IRA, sizzlechest.

That threat has died down, of course. Now it's just crazy immigrants with knives.

When my sister was living there she a while ago said she couldn't even find a motherf*cking bin to throw away any rubbish because... well because bins are a good spot to hide bombs. Man, I'm always using bins on the street. Wonder what their litter problem is like?

Also came here to say THIS. That was highly underwhelming.

And also to apologise for my abortion of a post, above.

Doesn't the guy say that people "rung up" the police? Meaning it was citizens that called the cops, not CCTV?

It's the same video, originally aired in 1995. The video is 13 years old by this point.

Better not goto America then, they take your photo and fingerprints plus a little interview for just a holiday. Although perhaps not to Canadians, but I thought that was a little over the top.

I don't know about Britain, but here they're usually wearing ponchos and a sombrero

If the camera was pointed at his window, they should have faked a murder in his apartment. It would have proved they were spying on him.

As a guy that lives in New Orleans, allow me to express my amazement at A) How farking clean and peaceful that place seems to be and B) How quick the police were to roll in and assess the situation. Not that I condone the goverment watching every move we make or anything, I'm just shocked at how well that little system seems to be working. As compared to the full clip of gunshots I hear go off around here, followed half an hour later by a siren. Maybe.

/just sayin'

root88: If the camera was pointed at his window, they should have faked a murder in his apartment. It would have proved they were spying on him.

His biatch (from what I gathered) wasn't that the camera was pointed at his window. It's just that it COULD be pointed at his window, since there is an operator that controls where the camera is pointed and how much zoom is used. So it could technically be used to spy on him through his window, provided he always leaves he curtains open.

Was that the legendary 'Fred (HOW?) Dinage' in the Maridian studio at the end?
