My wife asked the same question.

That was the first episode I've ever watched fully so I could be wrong, but he had super powers. Her angsty rage powers were nothing for his teen heartthrob pecs and washboard abs.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain announced Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign to return to Washington and focus on the "historic" crisis facing the U.S. economy.

The Arizona senator called on his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, to do the same.

The Obama campaign announced that Obama would make a statement shortly.

The Obama campaign said Obama called McCain at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to ask if the Republican nominee would join him in a joint statement of "shared principles and conditions" for the proposal. It said McCain called back at 2:30 p.m. -- shortly before his New York announcement -- to agree, and "The two campaigns are currently working together on the details."

I got it when it came out on DVD.

If you like to watch stuff on that time period I would suggest it. It is fascinating to see how much John Adams effected Pre-United States.

It gets a little slow after the Revolutionary war, but is still a good watch!

Bush: Give us money without any stipulations
Congress: NO.
Bush: Please?

McCain: Don't worry, George, I'll get it for ya
Obama: Oh no you won't
McCain: Yes I can, and I'll stop campaigning to do it.
Obama: I accept your concession. Back to the business of Democracy.
McCain: But I don't wanna debate
Obama: Too bad, crybaby

McCain does not want to suspend the campaign because he has any insight to put into this bill - despite all of his handlers' connections to the failed financial sector and his bizarre relationship to Phil Gramm, McCain knows very little about what has happened over the last few months and has no ideas on what to do about it or how to prevent it from happening again.

John McCain sees his campaign failing, sees his poll numbers dropping, and sees the debate of his lifetime looming on Friday, and is flailing for answers on what to say and what to do. His only hope is to try a useless gimmick to stop the campaign to reset his message.

McCain shouldn't just suspend his campaign. At this point he should drop out and concede.

It's also an incredibly lame rip-off of the actually incredible Wild Cards series of novels.

And Senate Majority Leader just said "Thanks but No Thanks" to both Obama and McCain.

"I understand that the candidates are putting together a joint statement at Senator Obama's suggestion. But it would not be helpful at this time to have them come back during these negotiations and risk injecting presidential politics into this process or distract important talks about the future of our nation's economy. If that changes, we will call upon them. We need leadership; not a campaign photo op."

Walker: I'm not sure where the show is even going. Sylar is collecting power after power, Peter is collecting power after power. They are like two Gods now and we are just waiting for the final battle when who knows if either one can even be killed. I guess that won't even take place until years from now when thew show ends. The other "heroes" are like normal people compared to those two. When the show started it seemed like Claire, Nikki/Jessica and Hiro were the most powerful. Now Peter has all of their powers, hell he has 12 powers, and Sylar has 9 powers, including Claire's. Can't Hiro or Peter just go back in time and stop Sylar from being born or something?

Wait, wasn't this supposed to be a thread about Bush and the economy?

Peter has so many more than 12 powers.

How about:

"Rather than suspend debate in response to the economic crisis, I suggest that Senator McCain and I take this opportunity to present our economic plans to the country. As such, rather than focus on foreign policy, I propose that this debate focus on domestic issues."

Seems like that at least gives Obama an opportunity to take control back of the situation. And play to his strength.
