That's supposed to be the Persian Gulf, judging by the way the picture's called persiangulf.gif and there are planes there, ready to attack Iraq and Santa. So my question is this: Why isn't it dark?

No, Virginia, there isn't a Santa Claus, except that smelly wino at the mall who'll be back under the bridge December 26.

Christmas is what you choose to make it. You choose to make it about the gifts, then you deserve the crass empty feeling you have. You add family, friends, and giving (not just gifts, and not just to your friends and family), then you get more than any person could ask for.
You don't want your kids to believe, that's fine. But shove your judgemental opinions up your religious-right hating ass. I fail to see how your judgement is any different than Mr. Falwell's.

Try being around a kid at Christmas. They make it pretty easy to tear through the commercialism and find the real spirit of the season.

I think everyone deserves a few years in their childhood to believe in Santa Claus. I remember how magical it made Christmas for me as a kid and I resent anyone who tries to take that away from any child, before they are ready to let it go for themselves. I think I was probably one of the last in my age group to let it go, actually.

Merry Christmas, fellow Farkers. 45 minutes until Christmas in the UK!
