As long as they don't choke in the playoffs. AGAIN.
2001-08-22 01:49:50 PM
I hear Bobby Orr wants to play with all those young guys.
2001-08-22 01:51:28 PM
Didn't Gordie Howe just re-sign with the Wings?
2001-08-22 01:54:52 PM
Tell me about it....*ugh*

You'd think they'd be able to accomplish something this year with the goal scorers: Hull, Robitaille, Yzerman, Shanahan, and Fedorov. Not to mention the net being protected by Hasek (if he can recover from his virus or what-not)

*drools* light! how i can't wait for the season to begin.

That's alright my team is the king at choking, Go Caps!
2001-08-22 01:57:39 PM
Can we say Rangers boys and girls?
2001-08-22 02:00:27 PM

Gordie retired from the Detroit Red Wings in 1971 to take a front office job....

and at the age of 45 he came back to the game and played for the WHA. He then finally retired in 1980.

Give it up Flake, one hit and your new supper wuss will be out for the season again.

Pointless Fact: Blood bounces on ice.

Jumbotron good point, do you think Lindros even realizes that he has been traded?
2001-08-22 02:09:29 PM
Flakeloaf: Yes, we can say Rangers.
Jumbotron: No kidding. I'd take Hlavac and Johnsson over that moron any day, really.

Guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed...

As a Red Wing fan of mine pointed out today... Why didn't they just use the money to keep LaPointe, who is on the upside of his career?

The Rangers got screwed. Probably could've had Jagr for the same package. Screw Hull, never liked him, but Detroit should have a shot at the Cup with Hasek in net.
2001-08-22 02:35:22 PM
But the Caps got Jagr! C A P S Caps Caps Caps!
2001-08-22 02:36:36 PM
*scratches his head*

DaveX: what a valid I'm angered, why didn't they? *huff*

To finish Slippy's point, "Yes, we can say Rangers...girls."

Detroit, Colorado, Dallas...all will make it tough for the Blues this year. But I'm still rooting for them!

Go Blues!!!
2001-08-22 02:56:13 PM

Dallas shouldn't have lost him, but the Wings should be good this year.

DaveX: Where did Lapointe go? He did pick up really well last year.

2001-08-22 03:10:51 PM
JayS: Boston. Signed for a rather ludicrous amount of money, if I'm not mistaken.

Jdrew00: The only team making it tough for the Blues for, oh, the last 4 years or so has been the Blues.
2001-08-22 03:19:53 PM
Blues & Avs are still the tops of the conference.
2001-08-22 04:48:30 PM
Lapointe is a great young player, but he got way more money than he was worth in Boston, I think he got the same money Ray Borque got last year...doesn't make sense. He's got a lot of upside, but he continues to make stupid plays and cost his team big goals. Case in point that debacle against the LA kings this year...See you round Lapointe...welcome Hull, Hasek, and Robotaille, NEED DEFENSE all applications are being welcomed
2001-08-22 06:17:58 PM
Im a penguins fan from way back, but I think that RoBrt is right..... There is no reason the wings shouldnt be #1

Hull & Shanny. Watch out. When they were in St.Louis together, they were so smoooth. If they click in Day-twah, and Hasek plays like Hasek, the rest will follow. Or not.

I've been a Red Wings fan all my life, and this will be the first time I've HATED a player on the team. I, oh I just really, arrrggghhh. I hate Brett Hull!!! Why the fark did they have to get him. Goddamn loser. fark. I wish I knew how to get around the filter. farking farkers.
Oh and about defence, I guess Uwe Krupp has been skating again, it'll be nice to get some use out of him.

wings kick ass
2001-08-23 01:27:42 AM
Ottawa - watch them.

Yashin was to Ottawa what Lindros was to Philly:

Totally useless.

...and now he's gone.
2001-08-23 02:22:40 AM
Scrappy- I felt the same way about Forsberg. But you have to respect him. I still hate farking Forsberg and the damned Avs, but he's an incredible player. If he were traded to one of my favorite teams, I'd come around. You'll like Hull. Give it time, man, give it time.

Cynicaldrunk- You should change your name to Realist. You hit the nail on the head. What a couple of talented crybabies! I kinda liked Ottowa, but Yashin's Carol Alt-dating, sitting-out ass was too hard to pull for! Lindros wated more talent last year than most players waste before noon! Stop me before I biatch more!

2001-08-23 01:01:33 PM
Jumbotron, you're stupid. Don't talk :) I was implying that the 'Wings were trying to buy another cup by crowding their team with old farts who once had talent.

I live in Ottawa.

Lindros is a tit.
