There is a kernel of truth to what you wrote - slave owners did want the slaves' offspring to be good workers - but, again it was not an organized 'program.'

Umm, actually there are arguements for programs for this sort of thing during slavery. Historians just can't seem to agree on the scope of the process. Check your primary sources again.

To some historians, the evidence is obvious and shameless (such as some primary source documents I have read in SC archives): Certain cultures were bred for certain tasks: Not all slaves had to be giant, powerful hulks. Some were preferred small for more complex tasks.

Slaves from certain parts of Africa were considered more attractive physically others more attractive intellectually and yes, some cultures were considered more docile. Slave masters were very careful to breed their slaves so that undesirable traits were bred away, but what can be construed to have happened since breeding stopped is that the races then again intermingled, messing up the work.

Many historians will agree with this only in part. They say that while selective breeding was definately taking place, this all resulted from something that wasn't deliberate. History and the capacity for human audacity and ignorance sometimes isn't very pretty.

These texts have gone through so much translation that any chance at knowing truth (if there was any to begin with) is slim.

They've shown that another Biblical giant, Goliath, was actually just sort of tall -- at some point the translations added two extra cubits (9'6"), but older versions of the same texts show that he was within normal range of height (6'7"). Furthermore, they found that some Philistines from that area actually were that height.

The Book of Jasher, mentioned in the Bible in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18, says, "After the fallen angels went into the daughters of men, the sons of men taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order to provoke the Lord" (4:18).

It appears the author is confusing the interbreeding of species with genetic modification. For instance, if 6000 years ago, someone bred a brontosaur with a tyrannosaur, that would be interbreeding of different species. Whereas, had Jesus cured the sick by gene suppression, that might be considered genetic modification.

In doing so, they bound themselves to a human existence. Once they died though, that was it - they were truly dead forever. But as angel/human hybrids they didn't exactly age like humans either.
