Goddamn slimepigs.

I'm surprised that the Boston Diocese hasn't been burned to the ground yet with all the priests hanging on meat hooks.

2002-12-23 11:57:36 AM
They might as well form an unholy alliance with the Scientology lawyers on that motion...

2002-12-23 12:02:51 PM
That statement alone, should be enough to have a complete investigation of the church and jailing of these self-righteous criminals as is what they deserve and nothing less. Lets see taxes collected on religious organizations and audits of their assets and transactions. Religious freedom does NOT give the freedom to discriminate or hide laws of the state. (imo) Fark these people and the boy they rode in on.

2002-12-23 12:43:42 PM
These people make me sick and ashamed to be Catholic.

2002-12-23 01:28:58 PM
Don't be ashamed for being catholic. Separate your actions from the parasites. You can still be a good person and not be ruled by the bureaucrats.

Maybe we can bomb iraq with priests....

And in other news.... Mormons attempt to quash free speech

this is also on TF.

2002-12-23 01:55:16 PM
How convenient...
WWJD?
He he he he.

2002-12-23 01:55:49 PM
Just when you thought the Church couldn't sink any lower...

2002-12-23 01:56:11 PM
Actually, i think they should be ashamed to be catholic. By claiming to be catholic, thay are supporting the organization. IT like saying youre a REdskins fan, even if you never go to the games. OK, so really bad analogy.

Jeebus_Frist Don't you mean WLWJU?

2002-12-23 01:56:55 PM
Men of God....

You know, it was not more than a couple centuries ago that religions were banned and utterly wiped out from stuff like this.

2002-12-23 01:58:22 PM
WLWJU?
Break it down for me, I'm not to swift this morning.

You know, it was not more than a couple centuries ago that religions were banned and utterly wiped out from stuff like this.

Well, it WAS the Catholics doing all of that. Kinda makes ya think. About what, i have no idea.

They have a good point -- the courts shouldn't look too closely at church affairs -- but I don't think they can win on this issue. Just because Jesus said "forgive" doesn't mean they can't give the priests jobs that require less contact with boys.

What is really stupid is the excuse: We're doing this so we can lose the case faster, and because the insurance companies made us do it.

2002-12-23 02:00:10 PM
what lawyer would jesus use?

2002-12-23 02:00:19 PM
This is the same court system that has decided it has jusrisdiction over POWs at Gitmo.

I'm sure they will assert their authority domestically.

2002-12-23 02:00:28 PM
Just because there's a few bad apples in the bunch, doesn't mean all Catholics/Christians/etc.. are like this.

The Catholic powers-that-be are just pulling some good ol' USA court room manuvers..

Next they'll be suing the victims saying it was all entrapment..

enjoy the legal system.

2002-12-23 02:00:35 PM
I can't imagine if this was happening at my church. It's bad enough that it's happening w/ my religion. Sickening. I have always loved being a Catholic - I think what they are trying to pull now is a new low, and who knew that could happen!

2002-12-23 02:00:35 PM
Jeebus_Frist What Lube Would Jesus Use?

Bishop Lennon, don't you worry. I watched Matlock in
a bar last night. The sound wasn't on, but I think I got the gist of it. ...

True, but in England/France, usually whoever had the most waepons, men, and influence, would call for purges, it would bounce back and forth from Catholicism/Protestantism several times.

2002-12-23 02:01:27 PM
Farking bastards. They need to bulldoze every damn one of those places of evil and put up a Wal-Mart.

2002-12-23 02:02:22 PM
A desperate move. By and large, the Constitution doesn't protect illegal activity, whether it ivolves raping children or engaging in subsequent cover-ups.

2002-12-23 02:02:24 PM
I tried this defense during my last divorce.

I lost.

2002-12-23 02:02:40 PM
I hope they all get prison time for wasting the courts time.

2002-12-23 02:03:15 PM
It doesn't surprise me that they're trying this. Guilty or not, they want to defend themselves. And they can afford to do practically anything to defend themselves at this point.

So the when the laws of man don't give them a free ride, they then claim that such laws do not apply to them.

I thought Jesus said you should always be honest annd straightforward with people.

Man this sucks.

I always think of the people who are in doubt or in need of help that turn to the church, and now they find out that the church is just as much a bunch of bastards as anyone else.

2002-12-23 02:06:23 PM
Ironbar,
The church is an even BIGGER bunch of bastards because they are breaking their "holy contract" with the people by abusing their trust.

2002-12-23 02:06:57 PM
How is raping children protected by the 1st amendment?

ZAZ:
I think that the courts should look at church affairs just as closely as they look at anyone elses. Just because the church has exemption from taxes shouldn't mean that they also have exemptions from the law. If a priest breaks the law, they should go to jail just like anyone else.

On another note, Why did the parents of these kids accept settlements in these cases? I would not have stopped untill I saw the monster who molested my child behing bars.

2002-12-23 02:08:10 PM
I for one hope they win. Then I can drive like a bat out of hell and claim trafic laws do not apply because I'm on a mission from god.

A similar argument was made about 10 years ago in Floriduh, some group claimed they could smoke masive joints because it was there religion. I don't think that worked.

2002-12-23 02:08:28 PM
When the U.N. gets through with Iraq, they need to send their inspectors to Boston. There seem to be some serious human rights violations goin on in certain locations (parishes).

2002-12-23 02:08:29 PM
Patience, all.

Maybe this is all just a test of our collective faith.

Nowadays, it's just baby-rape.

They used to make you sacrafice your first born.

Remind me again of the purpose religion serves?

2002-12-23 02:08:42 PM
if they were able to get away with this, why not other religions? can you imagine? Televangelists and the Baptist preachers down here in the south would have a friggin field day.

2002-12-23 02:09:15 PM
Religion... A crutch for the weak.

2002-12-23 02:09:17 PM
If this was a guy trying to get out of a possesion charge, this would have an 'AMUSING' label on it, and most of you would be thinking it was awesome.

Do not take that statement to be a defence of their actions.

2002-12-23 02:09:54 PM
And he said to me, "The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled."

Let's see how well i remember poli sci 240...

aristotle belived that the state should have no specific control over how a religion/church is run, as long as the activities do not run against civil laws. and religions/beliefs can organize their members into protesting the government, but cannnot require them to abstain from the law.

hmmm...i'm probably missing some stuff...left all my notes and shiznit at school....meh

2002-12-23 02:11:28 PM
It is about time these robed kiddie-rapists got a taste of a witch hunt from the other point of view. What they really need is for us to go all inquisition on their ass.

2002-12-23 02:12:15 PM
lol sadsack. or if the Christians were claiming this just so they could start a legal MP3 sharing system it would have a 'hero' tag.

2002-12-23 02:13:40 PM
So essentially they are saying: "If we want to perpetuate sin among our ranks, suppress criminal evidence, and shuffle around a bunch of pedophiles so they can have maximum coverage, that's our business."

I'm sure God approves.

2002-12-23 02:14:19 PM
actually they have to do this to pay out the settlements. their insurance companies wont settle until every legal option has been tried. and to all you catholics who are saying that these priest dont speak for your religion. i hope you grant the same consideration for those peasant muslims whom we are about to drop million dollar bombs on because their leaders have hijacked one of the most peaceful and open religions for their own political gains.
but lets put it all aside and enjoy our families and each other in the spirit of all true religions. they are all just different paths to the same place anyway. love you all. merry christmas.

2002-12-23 02:15:44 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't crime against your fellow man(or young boys and teenage girls) fall under "rendering that which is Caeser's"?

2002-12-23 02:17:06 PM
Luckily, in this country we have a long tradition of TORT LAW. While your actions may be protected by the Constitution, it does not preclude you from having your ass sued off for injuring another person.

Sometimes the system is just grand, ain't it?

2002-12-23 02:17:53 PM
Drug money funds terrorism.

Catholic tithing money funds pedophelia.

If this was any other organazation, it would be sued into oblivion and it's ring leaders put in jail. Then the government would step in to regulate or disband the organazation. The fact that it has gone this far before one of the head people resigned (!) tells alot.

In case you haven't noticed, they ARE being sued into oblivion. That's the purpose of the 1st amendment thingie.
