To his defense, McCain could promise them gold bars and endless loving but their vote was bought and paid for a long time ago. Nothing will change that. Can't believe McCain was stupid enough to even try to sway a unionized autoworker. Dummy.

unions supporting a democrat is hardly a big surprise.

Most of them have seen Roger and Me. You don't have to be very bright to know McCain can do jack squat for Michigan.

What's his policy on tax subsidies for businesses that ship jobs overseas?

It doesn't help that McCain lies to them and tells them that Obama will raise their taxes.

What's laughable about McCain is that on Monday a financial advisor of his published an article saying how great the economy is. Perfect timing there pall.

Oh and hearing his new ad makes me just laugh starting off with "American workers are the best workers in the world" Uh huh. Why not just say that they also poop unicorns and whiz gold while you're patronizing them.

Tr0mBoNe: Obama can promise what he wants, intelligent people know he'll never deliver.

Ah, you say that. But every time Obama makes a promise, McCain spins around and says "Er, yeah, I said it first! I promise it more!"

God's Hubris: What's his policy on tax subsidies for businesses that ship jobs overseas?

What's his policy on anything? Did you see his latest ad on the economy? I'm John McCain and I'ma fix it real good, you'll see, dummy. Obama actually had some ideas, and didn't think you were too dumb to understand.

2008-09-17 08:50:35 PM
That was a pretty pathetic size of a crowd too.

Is this the same McCain that told autoworkers in the primary that the jobs were not coming back?

2008-09-17 08:53:53 PM
And from the article:

"McCain also made his strongest comments yet supporting a $25 billion federal loan package to help the auto industry."

Okay, so where the fark is all this damned money coming from? This is farking rediculous. Doesn't anyone own a calculator around here?

Perhaps McCain should have taken "Math for Liberal Arts Majors" in college. I'm sure Palin did.

ok, Genesee County subby, show yourself...

That area is loaded with Bipatisan Stupid. In the center of Flint, you have your Sharptonite liberals who wouldn't know personal responibility if it was a bullet to the head. On the outskirts you have raging guns and religion level conservative stupidity (places like Davison, Michael Moore's town.

I'm really tired of politicians using the word "fight." Know what? You don't fight sh*t. You sit in your $1000 dollar suit and your fine black socks in your outrageously appointed office, and you make a few farking phone calls. You can call it fighting when you spill your own blood trying to get somebody a job, you rich, overprivileged sack of crap. Until then, you're just doing your damn job.

Well, according to McCain, he's done enough ACTUAL fighting for all of us. Y'know what? The biggest characteristic of a POW is that they were stupid enough to get caught by the enemy (I'm prior service, so I'm exempt from retribution here - lol). What of that?

didn't he crash 5 fighter jets?

2008-09-17 08:58:54 PM
And there goes one more thing I was actually happy about with McCain. During the primaries he was the most realistic one with the auto workers: Those jobs aren't coming back, it will never been like it was before. Now he's pandering like the rest, pretty much promising what Obama had all ready been promising.

Bravo McCain, bravo, just a few months behind the Obama campaign in your pandering.

moothemagiccow: didn't he crash 5 fighter jets?

Crashed 4.
Shot down in 1.
Once stole a plane to go watch a football game.

Irrational, unstable and incompetent best describe John McCain.
After the last several weeks we can add dishonest and shameless to the list I guess.

moothemagiccow: didn't he crash 5 fighter jets?

To be fair, one was shot down, and another had an engine go out.

He still wouldn't have kept his wings if he weren't an admirals son. Seems like a reoccurring theme in his illustrious military career. Nor would he have been able to take a jet to the Army Navy game, the one that had the engine go out.

meat0918: Is this the same McCain that told autoworkers in the primary that the jobs were not coming back?

YES! With linky goodness (At times McCain still shows flashes of his old uncompromising self. All last winter he campaigned in Iowa against ethanol subsidies, claiming they "distort" the market. He was right about that. In January he told autoworkers in Michigan: "Some of the jobs that have left the state of Michigan are not coming back. They are not. And I am sorry to tell you that.")

It makes me wonder what the bottom-of-the-class Naval Academy grads usually end up doing.

Are they generally trained to be bomber pilots?

If you don't watch the video and it sounds like an old radio broadcast from back 30s.

Yeah, I've wondered the same... usually the pilots are the top of the heap types, the equivalent to those of us here in med school who get to be plastic surgeons.

Go MI autoworkers. This doesn't surprise me at all, especially considering Obama has mentioned the helpful biatchslapping of Detroit before.

A cash bailout would NOT be enough. The, well, "big two" would need someone to explain to them that they need to seriously decrease SUV production, simplify their lines, and produce more econocars. Of course, given their current stupidity, the person explaining may need crayon and puppets.

/we can have Obama's daughters do it, I suppose

The truth is that the majority of the "protectionism" rhetoric has come from the Obama campaign. As you can see in the article, McCain even tells these workers that new technology is the way to go, not trying to reinforce dying industries. A lot of this is just politics too. He knows he can't play anti-protectionism to the unions, so it was his way of warming up to them. I sound like his mom, and I don't mean to. All I wanted to say is, if you do the research, the doomed cry of protectionism is coming mainly from Obama, so if you support Obama, lets hope that is just his way of catering to the unions and not really a part of his plan, because the worst possible economic push any new president could make would be protectionist.

ToxicMunkee: But...but...they're the fundamentals of the economy!

But...but...the democrats don't want to drill and get cheaper gas so that people would actually want to drive and, therefore, buy a new car every now and then. Instead we want to elect a bunch of people who wants us to ride a bike 10 miles to work and put even more of us UAW members out of work. Then we could a full time biatching how we now longer have any jobs. What a great plan!!

unless those autoworkers are making above 200k, why the hell is McCain teling them that Obama will raise thier taxes?

McCain answered their cries by reminding them that if they work hard and become CEOs of the company, they'll have his full support.

The unions have destroyed the auto industry, much of American manufaturing, and thus, their own jobs. Of course they are going to be for the welfare candidate.

I certainly agree with you, but in the end, it's likely going to be all talk (we can only hope, as the alternative is certainly unacceptable). Union pandering is to the Dems as "family values" are to the republicans, ultimately more about talk than action.

That's vintage Mavrick right there! Lie like a sack of shiat and then lie about the lies you told, even going so far as to lie about whether you lied in the first place.

McCain is so dishonest that he is honest again. You libs and your linear thought will be the death of us all.

Embrace the cyclical logic of the GOP.
