Here's one:

I served briefly with a dumbass who took off his wedding ring, put it in an industrial strength paper towel we use to clean with on Submarines and put it in his pocket so he wouldn't...uh...man I have no idea what he was thinking. Since then I got married, and I cant imagine what he was thinking.

Anyway, he took it off so he could participate in "Field Day" (clean the boat) and put the ring bearing towel in his pocket. Yup...you guessed it. About 10 mintues after field day he was in the Trash room looking through all the bags of trash that a Sub accumulates whilst it gets cleaned.

He never found it, but we all got a good laugh out of it.

Hell my younger brother when we were around 10 left his retainer on a tray at McDonalds. They were courteous enough to let us go through the garbage, around 5 or 6 bags if I remember.
